Destination? Heidelberg Castle, Germany. A classic story by Victor Hugo about the ruins.
“Nothing is grander than that which has fallen.”
Long before tourists descended on the ruins of Heidelberg Castle, Hugo wrote of his solitary experience there. This is a truly beautiful, romantic, and contemplative passage.
Translated by Esther Singleton. Enjoy the full excerpt at Destinationality (no advertising, no sign-up, no pop-ups).

Becoming a car manufacturer
As you may have seen from the title of my post, I want to become a car manufacturer. Since the end of June, I have been in contact with an organisation that can help me realise this project.
My project will be a two-seater kei-car saloon; I’d like a vehicle with the following dimensions: length 3.39m, width 1.47m, height 1.18m, and a weight of 830 kg ( the standard dimensions for kei-cars in Japan)
or alternatively with the following dimensions: length 3.95 m, width 1.51 m, height 1.38 m, wheelbase 2.29 m. It will still be a two-seater.
It won’t be an SUV; this vehicle will be a petrol/E85 micro-hybrid, with an analogue speedometer, an automatic gearbox and a proper handbrake, a reasonably sized infotainment screen, a top speed limited to 185 km/h, a 360° camera, electric wing mirrors and manual windows.
I already have a design for a concept car and the brand logo. This car will cost between 12,000 and 14,000 euros.
If this car existed, would you be interested in buying it? What would you like to see in this vehicle?

Locals call this the 'Belgian Riviera' — do you agree?
My wife and I visited Knokke-Heist on the Belgian coast last week, and locals kept referring to it as the "Belgian Riviera." Elegant villas, upscale promenades, quiet beaches — it honestly felt more like the French Riviera than what we expected from Belgium. Sharing some photos from our walk. Curious what others think — does the comparison hold up, or is it a bit of a stretch?

Is price slashing a thing in Europe?
Hello i will be moving to germany soon and was wondering if there are ways to get product discounts or price slashing like in online shopping? in the us, couponing is a big thing and is a hobby for people and they usually do it for groceries?
are there european apps where i can get instant rewards or product discounts? i don’t need a subscription app though.
