📰 Industry News Puck: In what seems like a comical frenzy of dealmaking, studios are rushing to Kane Parson's door. A24 is offering a massive deal (its biggest ever) to secure Parsons for a Backrooms sequel and another film. But WB is courting him aggressively with both film, and a TV deal at HBO. So is Universal.

That’s just the Warner Bros. courtship. Donna Langley, the NBCU Entertainment chair whose savvy in recruiting filmmakers led to this weekend’s The Odyssey from former Warners stalwart Chris Nolan, flew Parson to L.A. for a meeting earlier this month. Sony Pictures is setting up its own longshot get-together. And A24 is going hard after this one, almost certainly the most aggressively the indie studio has ever pursued a filmmaker. Which makes sense.

Domestic TheFlatLannister - Walkups for Odyssey at MTC3 about average or just below average. This is to be expected with these cinephile/PLF driven movies. Last night surge had me thinking 180k was possible, but now I am thinking more 150k-160k finish. Should be good for $18M +/- $0.5M previews

🎟️ Pre-Sales TheFlatLannister - At TC3, Brand New Day ATP is $18.5 for previews, $17.5 for Weekend, about on par with F4, Thunderbolts, other recent MCU films. Trend at TC3 seems to be ~60% standard, ~17% RPX, ~17% 3D, ~5% ScreenX, 4DX ~2%. People are just shifting from IMAX to RPX, 3D, ScreenX as alternatives.

IMAX impact is a bit overstated for MCU films. For example at TC3, Brand New Day ATP is $18.5 for previews, and $17.5 for Weekend (going to change of course, but not by much), that's about on par with Fantastic 4, Thunderbolts and other recent MCU films.

F4 final ATP was $17.25 for previews and $16.7 for weekend.

The trend at TC3 for BND seems to be ~60% standard screens, ~17% RPX, ~17% 3D, ~5% ScreenX, 4DX ~2%

Supergirl which had full IMAX run around same point in time was : ~60% standard, ~27% IMAX, ~9% 3D, ~3% RPX

Seems to me people are just shifting from IMAX to RPX, 3D, and ScreenX as alternatives
