Worldwide Why arenât box offices adjusted for inflation
Box office nerds will tell you that avatar which grossed 2.9 billion is the highest grossing film when it factually isnât gone with the wind made 4.5 billion when you adjust it for inflation literally everything is adjusted for inflation except the box office according to them Superman 2025(618 million) made more money than Superman 1978 (300 million) but when you adjust it for inflation you will know that Reeveâs superman made significantly more money (1.45 billion in todayâs money)

đĽ Streaming Data "Song Sung Blue" nets 1.9M views between its 3rd and 9th day on Netflix in the US, for its pay-2 window (Nielsen). Here's how it compares:
Jurassic World: Rebirth seems low but compared to the other titles, it did way bigger numbers in its first 2 days on Netflix. That's only showing day 3 to day 9 and "Song Sung Blue" missed the Nielsen Top 10 for its first 2 days on Netflix.

đ° Industry News Puck: In what seems like a comical frenzy of dealmaking, studios are rushing to Kane Parson's door. A24 is offering a massive deal (its biggest ever) to secure Parsons for a Backrooms sequel and another film. But WB is courting him aggressively with both film, and a TV deal at HBO. So is Universal.
puck.newsThatâs just the Warner Bros. courtship. Donna Langley, the NBCU Entertainment chair whose savvy in recruiting filmmakers led to this weekendâs The Odyssey from former Warners stalwart Chris Nolan, flew Parson to L.A. for a meeting earlier this month. Sony Pictures is setting up its own longshot get-together. And A24 is going hard after this one, almost certainly the most aggressively the indie studio has ever pursued a filmmaker. Which makes sense.

âď¸ Original Analysis Do you think Digger will have that same weight as The Revenant did at the box office?
Now I know people are saying that "oh Digger is gonna be the next OBAA" or "it's gonna flop" which I don't agree with. Now I don't think it will make that kind of numbers that The Revenant did at the box office, but I do feel like it will break even (312-375), but I'm also hoping it will surpass the break even point at the box office because if you think about it. Tom Cruise last movies even if they were flops because of massive budgets due to covid and the strikes, but if you take that away Mission 7 and 8 would still be successes, and Tom Cruise is proof that he can still be a draw. Also his last original non Mission Impossible or Top Gun movie American Made was a box office success as 134 million with a 50 million dollar budget.
Also people forget about that the director's last american movie The Revenant came out a week after Force Awakens making 533 million at the box office with a budget more than Digger. That movie became a box office success so I don't know why people think differently about Digger? unless I'm missing something?

South Korea SK Thursday Update: Hope and Minions are top again
| Movie | Mon-Mon Drop | Tue-Tue Drop | Wed-Wed Drop | Thu-Thu Drop | Fri-Fri Drop | Sat-Sat Drop | Sun-Sun Drop | Week-Week Drop |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Moana | 81% | 52% | ||||||
| The Eyes | 39% | 49% | 77% | 56% | ||||
| Toy Story 5 | 43% | 49% | 76% | 52% | ||||
| Hive/Colony | 37% | 37% | 87% | 72% |
Hope: Scores remain steady with an 81 on CGV and a 7.5 on Megabox. The movie is no doubt going to have a huge opening weekend, and it is on track to open above 2 million admits. Currently thinking around 315k admits on Friday, 660k on Saturday, and 550k on Sunday. Negative word of mouth could decrease that total.
Minions and Monsters: Scores stayed at 94 on CGV and increased to 8.4 on Megabox. The movie should cross 300k admits on Sunday, as I think the weekend will be around 130k on Saturday and 110k on Sunday.
Moana: A solid bounce-back day, as the movie will hit 600k admits tomorrow. Presales are at 45k, down just 45% from last Thursday, so a decent drop is expected.
The Eyes: Another meh drop, as the movie will cross 1.4 million admits on Saturday. It will likely fall just short of breakeven.
Toy Story 5: Toy Story 5 recovered decently and will break 2.7 million admits on Saturday. The movie should continue to recover as it bounces back against the competition.
Hive/Colony: Another big drop, as the movie is starting to end.
Presales
Spider-Man: Brand New Day: Presales are back and currently stand at 140k tickets, an increase of at least 40k tickets. Letâs wait and see the pace through the weekend. Comp table coming tomorrow or Saturday.
Odyssey: Presales increased by 5k and are now sitting at 51,575 tickets.
