Like a lot of people, I'm someone that just moved from Stremio to Nuvio recently

At first glance, I loved Nuvio a lot and I really was happy with the funky features that I was welcomed with like multi-profiles and intro auto skipping. However the way I feel towards this app quickly changed once I started digging more into how I can install it into my LG TV, etc.

I found the official webOS app a bit laggy, so I tried to look for solutions for that and this led me to this subreddit

The first thing you see once you hop into this subreddit is posts? (I mean yeah that's obvious), but they're really unclear

For example I see a lot of strangers posting on here like they're official people related to Nuvio officially, but I click on the post and dun dun dunn, they're just a random who made a fork and is apparently talking like they mean the original app that I installed from the official website

I'm not meaning to be against the forks, I mean I'm a developer myself and god I love the world of open source and how people can maintain forks of things

However I mostly see forks of projects when a project completely dies or decides to "change license" so another group of people decide to keep it cool and maintain the cooler version of it

But for Nuvio, why?? why are there so many forks for a project that began recently? I just feel that people are misunderstanding the purpose of forks unless the owners of the official app hate contribution and don't like accepting pull requests

I see a lot of bugs on the official apps and I don't get why contributors don't submit their bug fixes as pull requests instead of forking the app entirely and confusing the hell out of people because they won't know which app to continue using, especially with how fast a lot of forks die

I really love Nuvio but I wish it was better at this point. If it keeps going like this I feel that it'll never get better and I wish they can put strict guidelines for these things so we can sort them out

I have installed nuvio official version , nuvio forked enhanced version and there is another enhanced version of nuvio (picture i have aubmitted).

Which is best amongst the nuvio , totally confusion

1) official nuvio = frequent app crashes.

2) nuvio fork enhanced = cloudstream repositories added

3) nuvio enhanced ( by luqmanfadlli) = some improvements

Hey, New nuvio (ex stremio) user here with an iPhone.

Since the app has now been removed from the store, I was looking for a way to watch via the browser, but all I could find was this:

Does anyone know of anything better than this?

Or any plans for them to create a player that is optimised for browser play across all devices?

Seems like a big feature gap, that should be easy-ish to do in principal

Whenever I press esc or click the x mark while watching, the screen goes black and the only way to close the app is force kill in the task manager and when I try to close forcefully it just goes to the not responding screen. Does anybody have the same issue?

Seem to be getting a lot of buffering on my Shield when playing DV files, HDR works perfectly fine but DV are now buffering every 10 seconds. This has only just started happening on the past couple of updates. They worked perfectly fine before. From what i can see no settings have changed in Nuvio so not sure what to try. Has anyone else found this?

edit : Also working perfectly on my Ipad and phone, so it seems to be isolated alated to the the Andriod TV version as far as i can tell. Also tested playing the files in Wuplay and Arvio and they work fine there as well .

Fix for shimmer rows loosing focus 2649 u/skoruppa

I’ve just switched to using Nuvio on Windows from Stremio, especially the UI. The only thing that’s been a bit of a pain is that the audio is always so low, even when I turn it up to the maximum volume. I initially thought it might be a problem with Torrentio, so I tried different scrapers and watched various movies, but it was the same issue. I’ve never had this problem with Stremio. Could you please help me out? Thanks!

Every time I try to add a show or movie to my watchlist, I get "Traklist request failed"

This was never an issue before, just started happening.

Having the issue on all 3 of my Onn 4K Pro devices and also on my iPhone & iPad. (don't get error message on iPhone & iPad, just flashes when I press the + button and nothing happens)

Nothing has changed with my setup and the app if fully updated.

Does trakt token expire every 24 hours and I have to keep logging in every day, or am I doing it wrong.

Hi everyone! I'm 14 years old and still trying to figure out how all of this works. I wanted to use TorBox, but it doesn't seem to be supported in my country, and I'm not sure why.

Are there any good alternatives to TorBox? My goal is just to help my dad watch his favorite movies, but I'm having a hard time understanding everything. If anyone could point me in the right direction or explain how these services work, I'd really appreciate it.

Been really enjoying Nuvio the last month or so

Spent the extra for TorBox Pro for Usenet support.

I saw that AIOStreams now supports Usenet.

I saw the guide on Nuvio Wiki for Usenet, but it mentioned adding TorBox details to it and self hosting.

Is there a way to use Usenet in AIOStreams while still keeping native TorBox integration in Nuvio?

Since the most recent Nuvio update, every time I open the app on my Firestick it automatically loads the series “Pluribus” instead of going to the home screen. Happens every single launch, not just once.

What I’ve tried so far:

1. Restarted the Firestick
   
2. Cleared Nuvio’s cache
   
3. Removed the series from Continue Watching

None of it fixed it. Anyone else seeing this after the update? Is there a setting I’m missing, or is this a known bug? Would rather not do a full reinstall if I can avoid it.

I’m curious about people’s opinions on using GIFS for covers in their setups.

Personally I prefer a static image for my covers and backgrounds but noticed that many of the larger collections come with GIFs which I always end up turning off.

Hi guys, im so confused about this app so ive come here for some guidance, my friend said I should install Nuvio on my TV, which I did, but im absolutely confused as to what this app is supposed to do?

If I try to watch something it just gives a black screen or says I don't have 'movies' or 'series'

When I try to sign in it says 'service for this project is restricted because excess_egress_quota, the project owner must upgrade their plan or remove spend caps'

When I try to add 'addons' which I think is how the program finds films? It just says failed to fetch addon manifest from www.xxx.something/file.json or something.

What exactly are addons, and what are collections? Im so confused right now any info would be appreciated, even if its just some links to help me get going.

Before I begin, this is not an attempt to start another Apple-versus-Nuvio fight. I am genuinely trying to understand what happened.

I had been trying to get on the Nuvio wagon for months, but I could never get TestFlight or beta access. So I kept wondering what all the fuss was about.

When Nuvio finally appeared on the App Store, I downloaded it immediately. And yes, I understood.
It is beautiful, polished, intuitive, and just works.
It almost feels like an app created by Apple themselves. I opened it, started using it, and immediately thought: yes, this feels like home.

Then, a few days later, Apple pulled it from the App Store.
I know sideloading is possible, and I have already looked into installing the IPA on Apple TV.
But I spend enough of my day troubleshooting computers, software, simulators, plugins, and everything else.

My sofa, OLED screen, and THX sound system are sacred territory. There, I want one thing:
Point. Click. Work.

I do not want to reinstall or refresh an app every few days, keep another application running, or wonder when it might stop working.
There is nothing wrong with doing that, and I know many people are perfectly happy with sideloading. It is simply not for me.

Then I saw several people here recommending Fusion. I went to install it and realised I had already installed it months ago but had never really paid attention to it.
I tried it properly yesterday and, honestly, it works.
I still prefer Nuvio, especially on iOS, but Fusion is probably the second-best option for me. More importantly, it is available normally on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.

So here is my genuine question:
What is Nuvio doing differently from Fusion that makes Apple remove or reject it?

Yes, there are differences between the two apps. I am not saying they are identical. But broadly speaking, they offer a very similar type of experience.
Fusion has apparently been available on the App Store for months across iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS, while Nuvio disappeared after only a few days.

I am not accusing the Nuvio developers of anything, and I am not defending Apple. I would just like to understand the actual technical or App Store policy difference.
I love Nuvio. I would happily use it on every Apple device I own. But until there is an official App Store version, especially for Apple TV, I will probably use Fusion.

Using FireTV on a tv that supports dolby vision. I was watching a show when I noticed that some scenes were very dark compared to the following. Like during dialogue the camera would change sides and one scene would be way darker than the other. I went to Apple TV (the fire tv app) which the show is on and just like nuvio i got the dolby vision icon but instead it did not have the same problems as nuvio where the colors/brightness was inconsistent. Anyone know the fix?

Im looking for the best addon or way to setup aiostreams to find as much good links for asian movies / shows as possible. I have usenetstreamer set up for german content and use general aiostreams setup but cant find the latest movies / shows. When i find one i get no usable links.

I have used the ‘snoak full setup’ JSON url from https://itsrenoria.github.io/fusion-starter-kit/ in fusion recently. Does anyone know how to use the same in Nuvio?
