I am a Ukrainian citizen currently living and working in Poland. I have a high salary that easily clears the current EU Blue Card threshold (13k+ PLN gross), and I am currently working legally while holding a stamp waiting for my temporary residence card (TRC).

I am working as a SOC Analyst (Employment Contract / Umowa o pracę). I currently have 1.6 years of documented IT experience.
I did not finish my higher education degree. I completed 3 semesters of bachelor’s before stopping, so I have roughly 60–75 ECTS credits on my transcript.

I am trying to map out the fastest and most reliable path to upgrade to an EU Blue Card, and I am torn between two options:

Option A (Experience Route): Rely on Poland's special 3-year fast-track rule for ICT professionals. Since I have 1.6 years of experience, I would need to work for another 1.4 years on my current TRC stamp track before my employer can apply for the Blue Card based strictly on 3 years of experience.

Option B (Education Route): Transfer my credits into a fully online/distance-learning English Bachelor's program (like Vistula Online or PJAIT/PJATK Online). It will probably take me 2 to 2.5 years to finish the remaining semesters and apply for the Blue Card once I get the diploma.

My questions for anyone who has gone through this:
Has anyone successfully gotten a Blue Card in Poland using the 3-year IT experience exception without a university degree? How strict is the Urząd Wojewódzki when evaluating IT experience documents for a SOC Analyst role?

Is it worth the effort to finish the online degree just to have the higher education qualification, or should I just sit tight on my UoP contract and let the 1.4 years tick down?

Ukraine’s president made a pointed reference to Poland’s decision to strip him of a top state honor as he bestowed a new award on EU chief Ursula von der Leyen on Wednesday.

I’m looking for some easier to read (maybe young adult even) books in Polish to help me on my Polish language journey. If anyone has some thoughts on specific books or a good resource to find suggestions, I’d totally appreciate the input.

Drivers all over Poland must prepare for a real revolution. Cars with completely new markings on license plates are already appearing on the streets. The changes have been introduced only for some cars for the time being, but ultimately it will apply to all new car registrations.

The Ministry of Infrastructure has been announcing changes in the car marking system for a long time, but only now can drivers notice them with their own eyes. The first cars with plates have appeared on Polish roads, which have completely new, previously unknown letters at the beginning of the registration number. This is not a cosmetic correction – it is the beginning of a major change that will affect all vehicle owners in the coming years.

For now, the changes concern the so-called short plates, i.e. those that are installed in cars with limited space for traditional "sheet metal". New markings also appear on individual plates, ordered at the driver's special request. The reason? Possible combinations of characters with existing letters are running out.

Who will get the new plaques first?

Drivers from the largest cities are the first to be fired. Warsaw is slowly saying goodbye to the letter "W" in favor of "A", Poznań with "P" in favor of "M", and Gdańsk with "G" – now "X" will appear on the boards.

Voivodeships that have received new designations:

• Lower Silesian Voivodeship: "V" instead of "D",
• Małopolskie: "J" instead of "K",
• Mazowieckie: "A" instead of "W",
• Subcarpathian Voivodeship: "Y" instead of "R",
• Pomeranian Voivodeship: "X" instead of "G",
• Silesia: "I" instead of "S",
• Wielkopolskie: "M" instead of "P".

Dzień dobry! I just attended my first con abroad, as well as my first con in Poland, completely unexpected.

I was walking through Pasaż Grunwaldzka, Wrocław, and then I saw a bunch of cosplayers. I didn’t pay them any mind at first, thinking that they were probably going to a photoshoot or something, but then, after getting out of the mall and waiting for the tram at Plac Grunwaldzka, I saw two other cosplayers. I asked them if there was a con in Wrocław, and they told me yes, it was. Enter NiuCon! When I found out about it, it was Saturday, one hour before it closed for the day. So I bought a ticket for the next and last day, and I went to the con.

The con was interesting, but it was very small, like, it’s venue is made out of two decommissioned tran depots. You didn’t really have many things to do other than hauling and taking pictures of cosplayers. But it was still a fun experience, especially to practice my Polish skills a bit, such as on things like asking for pictures or even hugs sometimes.

Now I’m really curious about other anime/comic cons from Poland. I know that Pyrkon is the largest one, and it’s in Poznań, while Fantasy & Magic Con is in Warsaw. How are each of these cons, and which one do you think is better?

The question is what can I simply buy in the pharmacy in Warsaw without any prescription for the rest two days for better sleep and to lower anxiety (not melatonin or herbs)?

This is the fourth single from my upcoming second album, "Desperate Within" which will combine extreme deathcore sounds with symphonic melodies. The track features Casey Tyson-Pearce, vocalist of the Canadian band Angelmaker, with whom I have a long and special history.

I became a fan of the band in 2016. In 2020, I entered and won a competition for a vocal cover of the song "BLOODTHIRSTER" promoting their second album. As part of the prize, I performed the same song live with the band on stage in Wrocław in 2023. In 2025, my second band Violent Answer was given the opportunity to perform as support at two Angelmaker concerts in Poland in Warsaw and Poznań. Now, the Casey, Canadian band's vocalist has accepted an invitation to perform a guest verse on the Shallow Retrospection song. It's one of my top music related stories. I'm really proud that I pulled this off. Huge respect to Casey and Angelmaker squad for this Polish-Canadian collab.

Those situations are everyday reality for foreigners, and only foreigners' press are interested in those.

Edit: since people don't understand procedures and reality (some it seems don't even bother reading before jumping to a conclusion) 1. The person have fully legal status in Poland as waiting for residence permit. 2. The person doesn't have residence permit, because government processes them insanely slow (~18 months in Gdańsk) 3. The documents supporting that are in bank's dispositions, and the reality of the situation has been communicated to bank. Those documents are considered enough by the government, but not by the bank. 4. The only document, which could be realistically obtained, is issued by the government office in 2+ months, way after bank's deadline. 5. The complaint had been sent to the government office as well, but they simply don't care.
