Meta Subreddit Rules: Must Read Before Posting

UPDATE: If the rules of this subreddit are continually ignored, we will switch to only approved users (must check a box that you've acknowledged our rules when subscribing in order to post).

Geopolitics is intended for in-depth, meaningful discussion. Please abide by the rules or your account may be banned. Thank you!

1. No Trolling

Keep all discussion civil.

  • Any form of trolling will not be tolerated
  • Do not harass other users or mods
  • No novelty accounts
  • No quarantined sub users

The moderators can ban any troll without providing a warning.

The moderators have the final say on whether or not a user broke the sub's rules.

The sub's rules act as a warning.

2. No Submission Statement

All posts need a short submission statement of 3-5 sentences in the form of a comment.

You can read how to create a submission statement here.

3. Do not editorialize article titles

Use the article's exact title as the submission title.

Do not editorialize the title or add your own commentary to the article title.

Content from news organizations about a major developing news story would not fall under this rule if the site continuously updates the title throughout the day.

4. Bigotry

Bigotry and hate speech directed towards groups of people based on race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, national origin, immigration status, social status, religious affiliation or disability is not allowed

5. Genocide denial/Downplaying genocide

Comments denying genocide or downplaying genocide will be removed, and possibly lead to a ban. These include historic and modern-day genocides.

A few examples: The Holocaust, the Holodomor and Uyghur genocide

The moderators have the final say on which comments are removed.

6. Uncivil discussion

All discussion must be civil.

Engage with common decency towards others and treat others with courtesy.

Do not use profanity.

7. No chatGPT responses, chatGPT bots or copy/paste bots

8. Blogspam

Blogspamming will result in a ban. Please make sure that you are not submitting a link that merely copies and pastes an article from another source.

9. Conspiracy Theories

This is not a place to discuss conspiracy theories! There are other communities for that.

10. Quality Control

Articles that are not of sufficient length are subject to removal

Ideally, articles should be at least three paragraphs or more long.

  • Articles that only contain one sentence or a form of an alert are subject to removal
  • An article or self-post is subject to removal if the mods consider that the content within it is misleading
  • No meta

Submissions are strongly encouraged to come from reputable and non-paywalled sources.

Articles behind a paywall will be given a "Paywall" link flair.

11. No Domestic Submissions

Submissions should be related to geopolitics. Domestic politics and related content is not permitted.

12. Homework or assignments

This is not the place to discuss homework or school assignments. The topic may be discussed within a different framework, but r/geopolitics is not here to do your "homework" for you.

13. Commenting

Ensure all comments are thoughtful and preferably in-depth. r/geopolitics requires constructive and well-reasoned contributions that foster meaningful discussion.

  • -No one liners
  • -No jokes
  • -Maintain civility
  • -Stay on topic

The US president says he will declassify reports alleging Chinese interference in US elections. He says Beijing obtained 220 million US voter records, calling it a major threat to democracy. China has denied the claim.

And analytics says the speech was the president’s latest pitch to pass the SAVE America Act, a wholesale overhaul of American election and voter registration systems rooted in his long-held grievances about the results of the 2020 election.
