Looks like they're proposing 400 to 500 apartments here. I'm thinking that could put a bit of a dent in the rental shortfall. I'm not sure, is this the same proposal as last year or something new? Kind of wish they were going a bit bigger, but I guess its a lot more expensive.

I’m the girl on the bike that was having a small bit of trouble this morning on the roads. I was doing my very best. Because I had practised that route every day for the first week just to make sure I know how to do it without killing myself. I haven’t ridden a bike since I was eight so the past couple of weeks have been a crash course in reminding me how to do it. And I appreciate all the people who didn’t yell, and to the one dude who did (And I’m still not sure why he yelled at me because I was close the side as I could get, and there was no other cars in the area at the time.) You genuinely did not need to be that close to my back wheels and you didn’t need to be so goddamn mean.

On the way back, it started pissing and winding very very hard. And I did my best to stay out of everyone’s way as well. Most people were very kind they would wave me through and when the wind knocked me over some lady stopped to ask if I was OK I was not but I said I was. But yeah, the ride back was awful because of all the wind in the rain aggressively hitting me. So if I got it your way on my way back home to Quidi Vidi, I’m sorry for that as well.

I can understand not liking some bikers because they are doing shitty things, I was not doing shitty things. I was exactly where I was supposed to be. I was following the rules and I got very wet very much has ruined my entire day because I hate to get rain water on me because for some reason that makes me itchy. (I’m allergic to something in the rain, but I had to go out anyway😭)

Can somebody tell me why in the right mind NLHS would design a landing port that closes off three sets of parking and borderline shuts down the entire intersection of a HOSPITAL?

It would be one thing if it was a rare occasion but it happens i swear whenever I’m trying to leave or go to the janeway for my kids it’s there and closes everything down for so long.

They just built the new mental health facility, why on earth didn’t they put a spot back there for it to land? I assume it can’t go on the roof because like everything else about our healthcare in this province it would crumble & fall to pieces.

To think that someone in a management status thought the current spot was some bright idea makes me question everything administrative wise..

For a province that prides itself on culture and creativity it seems like a big miss to not capitalize on human created traditional art Seems to me the art groups are more concerned over funding and business partners than the artist, musicians, and writers.

I'm planning a trip home for my wife (she's a townie who has been away for decades), and I want to take her somewhere that doesn't have bad customer service. Reading the reviews of various pubs, I'm seeing a ton of bad experiences for customers, including no service or even hostile service.

Are there any downtown pubs that have reliable and enjoyable customer service? You know, good vibes.

We are spending a lot of money, to fly across Canada, so I don't have time for jerks who shouldn't be working in the service industry. BTW I tip at 20%+ so no excuses for BS.

My friend was wrongly accused of harassing a lady. He's spoken with the parents and told them she's lying and they seem calm. However, we are trying to figure out if we can sue for the wrong accusation or at least be prepared if she brings it up again in the future.

I know you want to ask me why I believe my friend, I believe him because I've know him for years and I trust him with my life. Plus, we came to find out she's previously accused two people similarly in the past. This looks like something that can get one to court/jail/prison if you don't actively kill it.

First Tent NL, Let It Be Events, White Sky, and Spotlight Events are all within similar price ranges, and I'd be curious to see if anyone has first hand experience with any of these (or other) companies and what I can expect.

Any suggestions for where to rent tables, chairs, linens, and dishes also much appreciated!

I moved to St. John’s about a month ago and have been looking for work since then. I’ve been applying online, dropping off resumes in person, and trying different approaches, but I still haven’t had much luck.
I’m starting to feel a bit discouraged and was wondering if anyone else has been through the same thing. Is the job market just really slow right now, or is there something I’m missing?
