Hello everyone, been in Nepal for a week. I have 2 days left. I was wondering what would be you must do before leaving ?
I did the big mainstream things like Durbar, Monkey temple, Bhaktapur…
I’m doing some quick market research on online grocery delivery usages in Nepal. Trying to figure out what people are actually using, what frustrates you , and how the model can be improved.
Please spare 2 minutes to fill out this short, anonymous form:
My Ripple laptop is having issues with the battery. I want an honest repair shop where, if possible, they can repair my charger adaptor and the battery, as it is charging very slowly. Any suggestions for such a place in the Kathmandu valley?
PS: Is there any place that repairs mice? I have a Logitech MS mouse. After dropping, it's not working (with jitter, it pops up though)
so i was thinking of buying a trimmer then i saw the trimmer from CREED and from the looks of it and from the reviews it's grate but i still have doubts about buying it so can anyone tell me should i buy it?
Namche Bazaar - the gateway to all trekking trails in the Everest region of Nepal. Everest, is one destination for hikers and mountaineers the world over, thanks to its challenging reputation, fantastic landscapes, and entirely unique culture. Offering plenty of challenges, and many opportunities for meeting new people since 1921, this region more than lives up to its legend.

Someone please stop this government from shipping vibe coding ai slop. This will create more chaos later. In the name of digitalisation they are doing whatever the fuck they want.
The reality - The other day I went to transport office to pay license tax, server kept going down every 3 minutes. Wasted my entire day. And they are shipping like this without any proper testing.
Hello everyone, I'm a researcher trying to find out more about the Anglo-Nepalese war of 1814. To this end, I was looking for textbooks from the prevailing curriculum in Nepal, which I found out is the "NEB". On the website enotesnepal.com, there are some textbooks available, but only for three subjects: Nepali, Hindi, and Samajik. So, my curiosity was naturally piqued and I want to find out more about this education system. My questions are:
What is the range of subjects available for Nepali students in secondary school? Are the three subjects mentioned above the only ones there, or is the website simply missing other textbooks?
If there is a separate subject for History, could anyone please direct me to where I could find its textbooks online? So far, I have only found books from the 90s-2000s available on the Cornell University Library Website.
Also, if anyone could share their own notions about the Anglo-Nepalese war– conceptions and misconceptions– I would be very grateful.

Visa was rejected. Consultancy has been withholding my NPR 60,000 refund for over 3 months and is now ignoring me. What can I do?
I really need some advice.
My student visa was rejected, so the consultancy is supposed to refund NPR 60,000 that belongs to me.
At first, they asked me to wait 2 days. After that, they said it would take another week. I trusted them and waited patiently.
Now it's been more than 3 months, and I still haven't received my money. They don't answer my phone calls, don't reply to my messages, and don't even open or see my messages anymore. It's like they're completely avoiding me.
I feel helpless and don't know what to do next. Has anyone in Nepal experienced something similar? Can I file a police complaint or report them to a consumer protection authority? What are my legal options to recover my money?
I have proof of payment and our conversations. Any genuine advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
We get this question a lot this time of year, so figured I'd post it here instead of answering it in DMs one at a time. I run treks out of Kathmandu and we do send groups to Manaslu in the off-season, including monsoon, but it's not a simple "yes it's fine" or "no don't go."
Manaslu is actually one of the better monsoon options in Nepal, not because the rain skips it, but because it sits partly in a rain-shadow once you get past Samagaon and climb toward Larkya La. Compare that to somewhere like the Annapurna Sanctuary, which turns into a landslide-prone mud chute in July, and Manaslu looks a lot more reasonable.
What actually changes in monsoon:
Leeches: Lower down (Jagat to Deng especially), the trail is humid jungle and leeches are relentless. Gaiters and leech socks aren't optional, they're mandatory.
Landslide risk on the lower valley sections, particularly the jeep road/trail between Machha Khola and Jagat. This is the actual dangerous part, not the high pass.
Flight/road disruption getting in and out of the region, since ground access can get washed out.
Leeway on the Larkya La (5,106m) itself is usually fine, snow isn't the issue in summer, but low cloud can mean zero visibility on summit day, so timing and a guide who knows the weather patterns matters.
Fewer teahouses open, fewer trekkers on the trail, which is a plus if you like solitude, a minus if something goes wrong and you need help fast.
What we tell people who ask us to book it in monsoon:
We won't take first-time high-altitude trekkers in July/August. Not a hard rule everywhere, but it's ours. Reduced visibility plus an inexperienced trekker on a 5,100m pass is a bad combination.
Mandatory helicopter evacuation insurance, no exceptions, no discussion. Manaslu is remote, and monsoon flying conditions make rescues slower and harder to arrange.
Build in 2 buffer days for the pass crossing and for possible road delays lower down. Don't book a tight itinerary that has you flying out the next morning.
A licensed guide isn't optional anyway (it's legally required in this restricted area, checked at multiple checkpoints), but in monsoon a good guide is the actual difference-maker, since they're reading river levels and cloud patterns daily, not just following GPX tracks.
Permits still apply in the off-season, just cheaper than peak autumn pricing, and the process hasn't gotten any less bureaucratic, so book through a registered agency and don't try to wing it solo.
Actually, Manaslu in monsoon isn't reckless if you go in prepared, insured properly, and with a guide who actually knows the route in wet conditions. It's not a trek I'd recommend to someone's first Himalaya trip, and it's not a trek I'd sell without the evacuation insurance conversation happening first. If you're experienced, flexible on timing, and okay with leeches and grey skies over blue-sky photos, it's a genuinely good, quiet season to do it.
Happy to answer specific questions if anyone's actually planning this for the next few weeks.
Please comment down below, we'll reach you out!
If i am missing anything more , anyone with more information please add it at the comment section! we'll be more delighted and happy for your presence!
Hi everyone,
I'm having a frustrating issue with my HP Victus 15 and would really appreciate any help or suggestions.
Laptop specs:
HP Victus 15 (2024)
AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS
NVIDIA RTX 4050 Laptop GPU (6 GB)
16 GB DDR5 RAM
Windows 11
Symptoms
Ramdom 1–2 second freezes that happen at completely ramdom times (gaming, browsing, Discord, or even while idle).
During the freeze:
Mouse cursor freezes.
Audio freezes/buzzes.
Caps Lock doesn't respond, so the entire system appears to hang.
Sometimes the system recovers after a couple of seconds.
I've also experienced two black screens:
One while using Discord.
One while browsing.
I previously got a BSOD with VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (nvlddmkm.sys).
What I've already tried
Updated NVIDIA graphics driver.
Updated BIOS to the latest version.
Updated AMD chipset drivers.
The graphics driver update did not solve the issue.
Additional information
The laptop was repasted a while ago, but I'm not sure if the issue is related.
GPU temperatures under gaming have reached around 89°C in the past.
The freezes are not limited to games and occur even during light usage.
