Please help,

I am looking for a high back reclining sectional with very firm cushions, excellent quality. Everything is so modern looking now. I have spine issues and prefer the high back. I keep going back to Flexsteel. My mom had her couch and loveseat 45 years, still look and felt brand new, yes she had it professionally cleaned, but grandkids etc. I know, they do not make things last like that anymore, I wished. I would have kept it and had it reupholstered, but I really want reclining, to help take pressure off my back and going down the road, old age surgeries, like knees etc lol

I have been looking for months, any motion furniture, high quality brands that will last do you recommend? I am gearing towards a Zecliner Zofa or sectional from Flexsteel. I have checked some of the other higher luxury brands that will last, and everything is so modular.

I am not sure about Lazyboy, I know you can get firmer cushions, but I am not sure of their longevity, please help. I do not want to go over 10k.

Hiya. I did do some searching, but I mainly found people discussing very old equipment.

I have a basic portable tablesaw, and I'm starting to find that I'm asking more of it than it can handle. I have a workshop space now, so I want to start looking at getting a proper non-portable saw; the kind that you stick somewhere forever and maybe even bolt to the floor. The kind that doesn't get knocked over by a big piece of wood being pushed into it...in fact, the kind that seems completely unaware that there is even wood anywhere near it at all.

I'm willing to be a bit patient, and I more want to keep my eyes on deals and such. I do want something modern-ish, because I have enough projects and I don't want to have to retrofit a proper safety switch and such. Obviously with this kind of thing, if you buy used then you have to wait until something comes up in your local area. I'm willing to splash some cash when the time comes, but of course this isn't a commercial shop so dropping 5k would be pretty extravagant (maybe worth it).

So my question is, rather than nessecarily a specific model, what brands are considered BIFL for something like this? The first one that comes to my mind is Delta, which is pricey but I think I can stretch there if it's truly going to be a one-time purchase.

Just got a second dog and yeah, my current couch is basically cooked. fur is stuck in every little corner, and one random spill turns into a forever stain. I’m looking at cloud couches now, but every brand claims their fabric is pet friendly, which honestly doesn’t tell me much. anyone here actually living with dogs and a cloud couch? what fabric did you go with, and is it holding up or already getting destroyed?

I’m planning to get the Philips 3200 ^{(for my 185 sqf x 9 ft height bedroom for my pollen allergy.}), but I have some hesitation regarding its airflow design.

Most traditional air purifiers blow clean air vertically (towards the ceiling), which easily creates a "room loop" (Coandă effect) to circulate and clean the entire room's air. However, the Philips 3200 exhausts air horizontally and in a 360-degree pattern.

My main concerns are:

• Weak/Diffused Airflow: Instead of a focused, strong vertical stream that can easily reach the ceiling, does the 360° horizontal dispersion make the airflow too weak or diffused to travel far?
• Obstacles & Furniture: Since the air is blown sideways rather than up, does it get blocked by surrounding furniture, preventing clean air from reaching the other side of the room?
• Overall Circulation: Can this horizontal flow effectively circulate and clean the air near the ceiling, or does the air just sit dead up there?

For Philips 3200 owners or air purification experts: Does this horizontal airflow design negatively affect actual room circulation in real-world usage?

Hi! we're debating between these two options and looking for anyone who has experience with either, I believe they are both made in the US with the Maxwell being a bit more expensive. I know RH is typically not recommended but this is made in the US and wondering if it's actually good quality

I know there are a million white t shirt posts on reddit, but this is not redundant.

It seems nobody else besides me is searching for a slim fit white t shirt that is also heavyweight.

I plan on exclusively tucking it in, so when it's too wide and boxy it just bunches up weirdly around the belt and looks dreadful.

I've already tried Uniqlo's options, the Supima T might be the best I found but it's still to boxy and quite see through, which is a dealbreaker for me.

What I'm searching for is a heavyweight shirt constructed more like an undershirt: slightly Tapered waist, long, slim sleeves.

Any ideas that aren't super expensive?

I've got a drawer of outdoor stuff that all died the same way and im starting to see a pattern.

bought a yard sensor thing two years ago, the app got one update after launch and then nothing. a outdoor camera that the company straight up stopped pushing firmware for, so now it just sits there half working. a sprinkler controller that needs a login to a server they clearly dont want to keep running anymore.

none of these broke. the hardware is fine. its the company that walked away. the second the next version shipped, the thing I paid for became abandonware. like they only ever cared about selling me the box and once the box was sold I was on my own.

and the worst part is we kind of accepted it? we treat outdoor smart gear like its disposable now. you buy it knowing the app will rot in 18 months. why is that normal. I dont remember agreeing to that.

I get that support costs money. but if you sell something for outdoors it should last more than one product cycle. half of these are basically finished products the maker decided to stop finishing.

anyway sorry for the rant. just frustrated. anyone else have a graveyard of this stuff or is it just me

The yellowed clear case on the left is mine and cost about $10. The one on the right is my sister’s and was around $40. Hers seems to be holding up much better so far.
The clear cases I usually buy start yellowing and getting noticeably harder after a few months, and I normally replace them after about a year. I’m trying to find one that can last as long as the phone itself.
For people who keep the same case for three or four years, what materials or features actually hold up? Is paying $40–50 worthwhile, or have you found durable options for less?

I'm currently getting things ready to go back to school. I'll be there for 10 years, since I'm getting a PhD (astrophysics, for anyone curious), so I need it to be comfortable. My budget is about $70. What's the best thing I can get?

Had a wheel snap clean off on day 4 of a two week trip so I spent the entire afternoon trying to find a repair shop instead of doing literally anything else.

I never want to make this mistake again. Some suitcases have the wheel unit riveted or molded into the shell as one sealed piece and others apparently use a screw-mounted cassette style wheel that you can actually swap out yourself or get replaced.

Anyone know which brands actually design for this? briggs & riley apparently ship replacement wheels under warranty. looked into away and tumi but couldn't tell if their wheels are actually built to be replaced or if you're just stuck once they go. horizn seems to do it right as they design their wheels specifically to be swapped out, and they also have a self repair option where they will send spare parts with instructions if you want to do it yourself.

Not asking for recs necessarily, more trying to understand what to look for so this never happens again and are they actually durable if they’re meant to be swapped?

We’ve had our current dog leash from Mountain Dog for over a decade, went to order a new one as it started to fray, and realized they have a lifetime warranty, no questions asked. Shipped them the leash and got a brand new one back. The quality of their leashes is fantastic, can’t recommend enough.

We are in our late 20s and have plenty of nice kitchen items with our BIFL mindset plus some quality hand-me-downs. I originally wasn’t going to make one, but his family expects a registry.

What are some other things to add to it? We do plan on buying a home soon so I would especially love new homeowner suggestions with specific brands mentioned.

I'm looking for a mat for my bathroom to stand on when I get out of the shower or bath to avoid ruining my floors and causing puddles.

I've gone through 3 different mats in the past 6 years, I'm wanting something more permanent. I'm not sure if this is possible given my criteria, but I've exhausted my usual avenues of searching -- something I normally pride myself on, and have resulted to grovelling at the feet of the wise BIFL community.

I have fairly tight measurement requirements since my bathroom is awkwardly shaped.

If I have the short edge against the wall with the long edge against the tub, I can only fit about 24" x 15". If the short edge goes against the tub, then the short edge can be 24" and I can go up to 72".

Honestly, I have doubts if what I'm looking for is even something that could be considered BIFL, but here are the features that I'm looking for.

• Absorbent. but will evaporate without saturation or pooling
• Easy to clean. machine washable or wipe down with a cloth is preferred. I'm flexible on this so long as the other requirements are met.
• Odourless
• Non-slip.

Hi, I'm pretty big on beanies and I've only really had one really good one, a carhart acrylic beanie, but I want something that's gonna last long and I want it to be made of natural materials preferebly wool or wool blend. I'd prefer it to be any shade of gray, navy blue or black. An alternative would be saving money and letting my grandma knit one for me but it's also very satisfying to buy something of good quality and I'm unsure is she's very good at knitting since she mainly does sewing. I'd prefer it be a common brand so I can buy it in store but that's not strict.

I keep getting Instagram Ads for Soos Atelier. They have a bunch of cutlery/utensils, kitchen ware, plates, bowls, coffee sets that are all made of stainless steel. *"Our stainless steel collection is crafted from premium food-grade 18/10 stainless steel, known for its durability and resistance to rust and corrosion."*

I particularly like their cutlery with the swirl end. I know it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm an artist and I like "different" things. Our current collection of spoons and forks are all mismatched and prongs are bent as they were all either thrifted or items we 'stole' from our parents when we moved out. Would love to add in some cute, high quality silverware.

My partner said to not buy these if they aren't Dishwasher Safe (cannot figure out if they are...) as he said it would be a waste of money as we primarily use the dishwasher over hand-washing.

Has anyone purchased from them before and can anyone tell me if the quality is worth the price tag, or if there is any way to tell whether or not it is good quality? Or dishwasher-safe?

Damn mattress prices have gotten so expensive... I really don’t want to spend over $2000 if I can avoid it. been reading older threads and checking reviews and I kind of narrowed down to Brooklyn Bedding, Bear, and Helix. What’s the best option from these three? I simply want something comfortable, supportive, and hopefully built to last more than 5 years so I can really get my money’s worth.

I have been riding dirt bikes for a long time, mostly gas bikes.

Like a lot of people, most of what I learned came the hard way. Bad line choices, bad throttle control, thinking I was better than I was, and a few rides where the bike reminded me pretty quickly who was actually in charge.

I have ridden desert roads, forest roads, gravel, and some rougher trails over the years.

The funny thing is, the longer I ride, the less I care about pure power numbers.

I still like a proper gas bike. I don’t think that is going away.

But I have started to understand why electric dirt bikes are getting attention.

Less maintenance sounds nice.

Less noise sounds nice.

Being able to just go explore without making every ride feel like a whole production sounds nice.

I used to think they were mostly expensive toys. No engine sound, no shifting, no clutch. It felt like something important was missing.

But after watching more people actually ride them off road, I get the appeal more than I expected.

The instant torque is interesting. Not because it automatically makes the bike better, but because it changes what you pay attention to. You think less about shifting and more about the ground in front of you.

I have looked at the usual stuff like Sur Ron, Talaria, and E Ride Pro. I also came across the Hikeep MAD recently because it seemed more aimed at dirt road and gravel exploring than just chasing top speed.

That kind of use case makes more sense to me now than it would have a few years ago.

Would I completely replace a gas dirt bike?

Probably not.

There is still something about a gas bike that I like.

But I do understand why experienced riders are at least looking at electric options now.

After enough time riding, the questions change a little.

Not just how fast is it?

More like:

Does it feel stable?

Is the range realistic for where you ride?

Does it make you want to ride more often?

For people here who have ridden both gas and electric, what ended up mattering more than you expected?

Preferably something small that I could keep in a bag for when my state gets owned by a wildfire or a pandemic happens out of nowhere

Hello! I am a plus sized, 29F and a stay-at-home mom, and no pillow seems to work for me. Between the constant bending, lifting, and carrying kids/laundry/groceries all day, my neck never gets a break. I've spent at least a good $500-$600 on pillows and none of them seem to work. I have had constant, daily neck pain for the past couple of months and nothing seems to work. My mattress is a firm mattress due to back issues. I'm not sure what to do :( any recommendations? I work in a warehouse where the AC is rarely working and higher ups don't believe in giving fans to us grunts.

My insulated lunch box and 5 ice packs isn't sufficient for keeping my food cold anymore so I want to get one that will keep it cool and fit in my locker (people keep stealing ice packs from others).

The dimensions of my current lunch box is 5.39 x 7.28 x 10.83 in and is my preferred size for my locker because it only takes up half of it.
