though, actually there is a supplement that does that, called acetylcysteine. the more you know i guess

It is also quite funny that they'll say "all your food is poisonous because it's got all these chemicals you can't even pronounce! The only cure is my 14-gamma-dichlorotetraacetylcystanolol pills derived from all natural hedgehog spleen"
25

u/Lainpilled-Loser-GF 1h ago
chemical names that they can pronounce is a pretty low bar, I don't think many of them are literate
11
u/ThinkingWithPortalzz 2h ago
Even then, depending on how late you get it, sometimes the damage is done and even that can't fix it.
Of all the ways to go, intentional liver damage, hell no
13
u/waigl 2h ago
The liver in particular has got amazing self-healing capabilities. You have to abuse it for an extremely long time and in extreme ways to get to a point of no return with it.
The kidneys on the other hand… Once those start taking damage it's pretty much permanent.
5
u/ThinkingWithPortalzz 2h ago
If you had to pick one organ to fail and kill you, kidneys are pretty rough too.
You have to be strict with your water intake or your legs will puff up like balloons, your lungs will drown, and your heart will give out because of the strain.
And that's just fluid balance, not including waste product buildup, electrolytes, etc
2
u/TheMostDivineOne 2h ago
There’s another supplement that does that called Silymarin, it reduces risk of fatty liver for example, so yeah

I mean staying well hydrated and drinking a good amount of water also helps because that's what your organs need to function properly. But it's crazy the percent of people who don't hydrate properly.

It's also ok if you add flavor to your water, I don't get why people think it's childish to use Crystal Light.
5

It does get a bit unhealthy when they only drink flavored water with lots of sugar and carbonation though (which a lot of people do). Hydration and moderation.

BAN DIHYDROGEN MONOXIDE - THE INVISIBLE KILLER! Dihydrogen monoxide is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people every year.
What are the dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide? Most of these deaths are caused by accidental inhalation of DHMO, but the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide do not end there.
Prolonged exposure to its solid form causes severe tissue damage. Symptoms of DHMO ingestion can include excessive sweating and urination, and possibly a bloated feeling, nausea, vomiting and body electrolyte imbalance.
For those who have become dependent, DHMO withdrawal means certain death.
Dihydrogen Monoxide Facts is also known as hydric acid, and is the major component of acid rain. contributes to the Greenhouse Effect. may cause severe burns. contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape. accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals. may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes. has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients. Dihydrogen Monoxide Alerts Contamination is reaching epidemic proportions! Quantities of dihydrogen monoxide have been found in almost every stream, lake, and reservoir in America today. But the pollution is global, and the contaminant has even been found in Antarctic ice. In the midwest alone DHMO has caused millions of dollars of property damage.
Dihydrogen Monoxide Uses Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:
as an industrial solvent and coolant. in nuclear power plants. in the production of styrofoam. as a fire retardant. in many forms of cruel animal research. in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical. as an additive in certain junk-foods and other food products. Stop the horror - Ban Dihydrogen Monoxide Companies dump waste DHMO into rivers and the ocean, and nothing can be done to stop them because this practice is still legal. The impact on wildlife is extreme, and we cannot afford to ignore it any longer!
THE HORROR MUST BE STOPPED!
The American government has refused to ban the production, distribution, or use of this damaging chemical due to its importance to the economic health of this nation. In fact, the navy and other military organizations are conducting experiments with DHMO, and designing multi-billion dollar devices to control and utilize it during warfare situations. Hundreds of military research facilities receive tons of it through a highly sophisticated underground distribution network. Many store large quantities for later use.
IT'S NOT TOO LATE!
Act NOW to prevent further contamination. Find out more about this dangerous chemical. What you don't know CAN hurt you and others throughout the world.

I mean technically the arabic numbers are the arabic numbers. Now if it is the arab number system or the hindu-arabic number system we would be having a different conversation.
3
u/robbak 30m ago
My favourite bit of trivia about arabic numerals is that they were the new, hot thing in English society in Shakespear's time. His surviving accounts use a mixture of roman numerals and arabic ones, and several of his plays include references to it, such as "like a cipher [the word then used for the digit 0] / Yet standing richly in place, I multiply / With one ‘We thank you’ many thousands more”

Sole apple also have wax on them to make them look more shiny and stay good looking longer. That melt away visibly when hot water is poured on them. It's absolutely non toxic. Just dosn't give anything as nutritional value.
Also the cheese's wax used are legaly forced to be the same. That's why you can eat babybel's red wax without problem exept the teast. (As a legal thing, refer to your local law on food befor trying to eat wax)→ More replies (1)5

no, that kind of tracks. whole foods are underrated for youngins. like if you can get the same or better food for no effort, do that. for instance instead of getting grocery store guac I get grocery store pico and add my own avacado and salt. Yes, it won't keep in your fridge for 6 months if you don't open it , but it'll taste good. imo same with cakes and other food. less processed foods just tatse better.
My problem is that health influencers will make a video saying that ten foods are bad because they are ultra processed and have preservatives and then make another video telling you about "good" products that have preservatives still. like, come on. that's just me being crunchy though. I just don't like shelf stable gas station food on an emotional level unless it's jerky.

I hate anyone obsessed with healthiness of the food. It's fine to eat healthy. But it's totally not fine to make it your entire personality and create chaos in your (and other people's) life just for it. "Oh no, this product contains 4 more callories that I can eat today! I guess I will starve...". And the real party poopers are those who would refuse to eat cake, not because they don't like it, but because "it's too much calories". Man. I eventually realized how much of a hypocrite I've been. After leaning in and reflecting, learning some, etc. now I've realized that perfection cna't be the enemy of good.
Live and learn, educate others if they ask for it, listen first and speak later, etc. etc.
