Ok so on episode twelve where haein lays on the MC and he asks what she’s doing and she describes to him this diary app that she uses where you write whatever your feeling that day and it’ll add a star to your sky every time till you fully fill it out.

I was like “oh that’s cute!” and i had a little thought to myself and i was like “this would be a pretty cool idea for a real life app!”only to find out that someone actually made it a few months ago and it’s currently available in the App Store.

Just wanted to share since it kinda blew my mind since I didn’t expect something to actually exist out of a manwah.

I don't mind if it's not historical; I'll read ANYTHING with an ML like this

Okay so obviously this is all just my opinion but after seeing a video on youtube talking about this app and the potential upsides of partnering with them I really wanted to throw my experience into the situation before too many people think about joining it.

This is not against the creator who made the youtube video, i love their work and support what theyre doing, but Webcomics/Webcomicsapp is NOT someplace you want to post your stuff as an indi creator and I made the mistake of doing so early in my career.

Webcomics/app is an alternative site to post/read webtoons, but in all honesty it sucks as a creator and reader. It has absolutely no visibility for indi projects, I can't even find them on the main app and have spent half an hour trying to locate comics without inputting the title directly into the search bar. As a reader there isn't ANY community and I'd say prices for unlocking exclusive content are worse snd more annoying than Tapas/Webtoons.

In 2022 they had a similar advertisement for indi creators like the first image pictured by offering money to creators with big backlogs for their episodes. I had about 100+ at the time and was offered 100$ USD through a payoneer account I had to create. The money wasn't a scam, I received it and spent it, but being found on the app as an indi (like I said) was impossible and I eventually stopped publishing because the engagement wasn't worth the effort and I'm not the only indi who has come to this result.

Now, I watch this video and checkup on the app to see if anythings changed, which it has, but for worse. I saw an 'Anime' section on the app and suspicious, clicked on it. It had all AI generated videos of manwa lookalike stories as well as other AI generated work of wattpad sounding titles. Frankly terrible images of 'My Fated Mate is The Bloodline Key' are pictured above and it's far from the only one.*** (I originally said they were making manwa into AI videos but it looks like they're just hosting/producing the videos on their app)

I can't stress enough that you SHOULD NOT sign a contract with them if you care whether your comic could be made into an AI. I know AI isn't the biggest thing to everyone but if you're making your own comic by hand I would be VERY careful about giving your IP to a content provider that makes AI videos out of the IP they do have access to.

TL/DR: DO NOT post to webcomics/app they have a horrible interface (worse than webtoons/tapas) no community, hardly any free episodes on exclusive series and churn out AI slop series.

INSTEAD please consider:

Inkverse/Taddy: VERY creator focused, great team and community.

Namicomi: absolutely gorgeous layout, community, no notes.

Even Tapas and Webtoons have a better layout for finding indi works.

We just released it on originals a month ago but i'm drawing 10 episodes ahead. Not really sure how to promote it well without giving out too much spoilers.

What are some side couples you liked as much/more than the main couple? I love chowon doyoon from see you in my 19th life, I actually liked their story more than the main. And honorable mention to suho and inhye in trash belongs in the trash can!!

I will update if there are more. I plan to trigger a scan every day after daily reset, or (if I miss it) before the reset the next day.

Since 2026-03-26 (which is during DST), titles tend to lock at the time of new episode release, and one hour before the time of the Daily Pass (now Ad Pass) reset, which is 18:00 Pacific Time (01:00 UTC during US daylight saving time, and 02:00 UTC during US standard time).

[2026-02-27] There MAY be a new pattern of putting most of the locks at the end of the month.

[2026-03-12] They seemed to have moved two weeks of locks, 03-12 and 03-19, to 03-26. This may be part of a new strategy, to confuse us.

• 2026-03-19: They decided to announce "Hanlin Gym", so they're at least not fully sticking with the end-of-month lock strategy.

Tip: The day before a title locks, you can use the Download feature for all of the chapters, giving you thirty more days to read them. You won't be able to use the Like and Comment features, and the UI for downloaded chapters seems to be an earlier version (which you might prefer). Note that downloading takes time and can fail, so watch this process for failures. Audio must be downloaded within an hour or two (not sure which) of queuing them, or the episode with audio will fail and cancel the rest of the series's download.

If a title doesn't allow you to download but it isn't locked yet, open an episode and see if it has a Download button in the triple dot menu. (I've seen this in Spanish and Indonesian.)

There was a section here about Ad Binge which I've removed, as it is no longer relevant (since ALMOST all "Ad Pass" titles have unlimited ads now).

In summary, titles which were originally in a language/region NOT Korean or English (e.g. Spanish, Japanese, Indonesia (yes, officially labeled "Indonesia")) don't have Ad Pass, and there are a few Korean/English outliers.

WEBTOON lock history is now on its own wiki page.

• Have a bunch of updates to make, but no time to make them this week.
• "Love Bites" was locked without warning, maybe up to a day after it ended. Note that it's a WEBTOON-owned series ("WmW" is listed as a creator).

WEBTOON isn't properly communicating about this, and aren't following any consistent set of rules. If locks matter to you, you may want to check in on this post during the month to see if I make any updates.

Banners used to appear about 30 days before lock. Please direct complaints to https://webtoon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new . (Remember that customer service has no power to make these decisions, so be kind to your messenger.)

Watch out for free coin events

There were two reading events in 2024 October, giving 10 coins each (lasts 30 days). Watch out for those. The coins last one week each.

There was another reading event in 2024 November, for 7 coins. There were a few more since then.

There's a free reading event which just started a few hours ago (2025-02-13 to 2025-02-20) for 7 coins. You might want to delay until the last two days, to extend the expiration date.

Note that creators don't benefit from free coins.

2025-02: Most of the coin events in recent months were "Spend 21 coins to get 7 coins". There was a free CANVAS one, but it didn't work and then they took it down early.

2025-10: "Falling for It" had a "read 3 episodes for 5 coins" event, but it only lasted for about 24 hours. This was the first free coins event I've seen since February.

2025-11-08: "Watch Guys Catch Feelings" 7-days Event From Nov 8 01:00 UTC to Nov 15 01:00 UTC. "Read any 6 Episodes from any of the 4 listed series and get 8 Free Coins."

Note that I will NOT generally be tracking these, so pay attention in-app for these events.

Reddit is restricting Old Reddit to logged-in users, supposedly as an anti-scraping measure, and I'm questioning how much more I want to contribute to this site. Reddit is trying to guard against AI to protect the monetary value of the info we produce, and it doesn't care if that also affects real humans. That sucks.

I saw a beautiful edit of this manhwa on TikTok, and it convinced me to start reading it. But the further I get, the more boring it becomes. It feels like something is missing, but I can’t quite figure out what it is. Maybe the male lead is just a bit boring.

Can anyone recommend action comics or manga with a female lead that feels like One Piece, Dragon Ball Z or Hunter x Hunter, maybe something a little darker like Hell's Paradise or Jujutsu Kaisen? I’m looking for something with a strong emphasis on battles, training, or adventure, but specifically starring a woman.
