Original video is of the John Frum cargo cult singing a beautiful song in a language I can’t identify - just wondering if anyone would be able to translate? It sounds beautiful.

Apologies if this has been asked before - I tried searching the subreddit but surprisingly couldn’t find anything.

Where to watch World Cup games in Port Vila?

I am currently in Port Vila and would love to watch some football World Cup games with locals.

I assume most of the people watch it at home, but are there specific places where people meet to watch games ?

I have seen videos of the World Cup parade in Port-Vila and the vibe seemed incredible. Would love to experience it, especially for the France game tomorrow as I understand lots of Ni-Vanuatu support France.

Thanks in advance !

Foil surfing Eratap?

I'm staying at Eratap Beach Resort later this year and I'm bringing a couple of surfboards.

I'm considering also bringing my foil board (not motorised, and I never foil if others are in the lineup)

Does anyone know if it breaks gently near Eratap when the waves are small, suiting a foil? Can't find much info online

Thanks

Does Vanuatu welcome immigrants?

I know 30% of revenue comes from literal passport sales, but if all those people decide to suddenly actually live in Vanuatu what would happen?

Tour group or driver?

Further to my previous post about driver vs car hire, I'm wondering whether booking a tour vs booking a driver is better (and cost effective). Anyone know?

Travel vaccinations

Have seen health clinics online recommend Hepatitis A & Typhoid vaccination for travelling to Port Vila. However, other things I’ve seen online say not necessary.

For a 6 night stay, staying in Port Vila & staying at resorts & eating at the established restaurants, do you think I need these travel vaccines?

Driving in Port Vila in June

Hello!
I was wondering what driving in Port Vila in June was like? We are thinking of renting a car but a friend who is there at the moment said it was VERY busy at the moment, busier than they’ve seen it before and that traffic in the city was very hectic like ‘South east Asia style’ - I’m trying to figure out if they’re overreacting? I’m from Sydney and used to busy traffic, but don’t want to be totally overwhelmed!

What are some MUST DOs in Vanuatu on a 4 day trip?

Hey! I'm spending 4 days in Vanuatu soon. It'll be a budget stay. What are some things I MUST do?

Best things I have found so far:

I've only looked at Port Villa / Efate so far since I won't be in Vanuatu long. Is there a must-do on another island worth the travel time?

Thanks!!

PS this is the first time I have left Australia

Looking for house manager / property setup assistance in Port Vila

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to find a reliable person or company in Port Vila that could help prepare a rental property before move-in.

The tasks would include things like:

  • buying household necessities
  • arranging cooking gas
  • receiving parcels/deliveries
  • checking the property before arrival
  • possibly coordinating cleaning or minor setup tasks

Does anyone know:

  • a house manager/property assistant
  • concierge-type service
  • property management company
  • or just a reliable local person who does this kind of work?

Would really appreciate any recommendations or advice. Thanks!

Is 1 day at Mount Yasur is enough?

If I only want to focus the volcano, do you think 1 day or 24 hours is enough ? Planning to take a flight from Port Vila to Tanna that land in the PM so we will have the evening time at Mt.Yasur, as well as the next morning before we take a flight back to Port Vila at noon.

Updated this interactive map of where to go in Vanuatu

While traveling around the world for over 20 years, I’ve been working on my dream project: creating a one-stop resource for travellers. With the help of feedback in this subreddit, I have now updated this 👉 interactive map of Vanuatu for anyone who is interested in visiting (with detailed info for every highlight).

PS: obviously, I haven’t been able to travel to all places. So if you know some great spot, I haven’t listed, let me know! Much appreciated as in this way I can make the overview more complete and up-to-date for everyone.

For people who aren't familiar with the scoring in Cricket, I can assure you that this win is of a very decent margin against a pretty solid side.
