Highlight Messi greeted every single England player on the field after celebrating Argentina's win in the semifinal. Class apart.

Yes some Argentina fans are shit, but so are alot of other nations fans. Spainards literally make monkey gestures to Vini Jr in La Liga. Paraguay's Senator proudly made racist remarks toward Mbappe. Mexico fans in unison shout a homophobic slur for damn near every goal kick. What is your point?

Not to mention some England fans, I still remember those racists having a meltdown when they lost the euro final on penalties.

There is literally an uptick of DV classes whenever Three Lions or the All Blacks play, scum bag fan subsets exist everywhere it's just reddit Algo wants a certain fan base amplified. I think there was that post if the Egypt fan kicking an Argentine female fan that got deleted
Geez I wonder why

It's funny to me that Canadians don't even register not doing this as a thing.....
After hockey games you line up and shake hands with the other team.
0
u/ArgenGringoUSA 12h ago
Yeah, because they get to beat each other to hell during the actual game. Such gentlemen.
0
u/Dangerous_Shoe_8388 12h ago
Soccer could learn from that- it minimises people being jerks or by diving or taking cheap shots.
2
u/ArgenGringoUSA 11h ago
Yeah, let's learn how not to be jerks and take cheap shots, by instead learning how to be jerks and take cheap shots and then gett in all-out fights over it. Great idea. (I'm with you on the diving, at least.)

u/Public_Maximum6166 12h ago
So we are now considering a basic thing that all teams do after a game “classy”. Next Messi will take a dump in the public and fanboys will go on how beautiful the shit was.
7
u/dreamofguitars 11h ago
Messi has been class his entire career. People just started watching yesterday.

u/ArgenGringoUSA 12h ago
"All teams"? I saw Messi seeking the English players out, not a single one the other way around. No big deal, but come on.
0
u/Public_Maximum6166 11h ago
Messi fans getting triggered. 😂

u/ArgenGringoUSA 10h ago
"No big deal, but come on." If that's what you call triggered, you do you I guess.

I dont think he did? Unless he did outside of the main foto
1
u/NoAppointment8679 5h ago
I saw a pic and it certainly looks like he had a hold of it, though I appreciate it may have been the angle
-2
u/apwgk 10h ago
He wasn't holding it but the entire team was together while a few in the middle held it up. To me that counts

u/Conscious-Move9662 10h ago
Dumb

Guy is literally the GOAT and the most humble kind person but the world will hate on him because they cannot bear a 39 year old is crushing them.
10
u/nucl3ar0ne 13h ago
It’s not him they have a problem with, it’s the rest of the team and country in general.
2
u/qinntann 13h ago
Which player did exactly what? They seem like any other team, not always perfect, but nothing close to what people demonize them to be.
0
u/plimso13 9h ago
The only person disciplined for this was Enzo Fernández, not by the Argentinian FA, but by his employer, Chelsea.
The new rule about not being able to cover your mouth comes from an incident in February this year, where the Argentinian Gianluca Prestianni (allegedly racially) abused Vinícius Júnior, while covering his mouth.
There’s a cultural issue.

But he is clapping his hands to Trump talking about bombings in Iran?
https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1rlvvdn/messi_claps_as_trump_praises_us_military_bombing/
So i guess it depends on where you live if you think he is most humble nice guy
5
u/qinntann 12h ago
And Harry Kane went to play golf right before the ARG vs ENG match with Trump when Trump is still fucking up Iran.
-1
u/Smooth_Drive3089 12h ago
Yeah but nobody is saying he is humble and kind person. When it comes to Messi you can read about it everyday. It just seems to be untrue when investigating further. As a team captain he is having banned political banners after winning too. Those guys don't even want to have anything to do with Argentina, still they claim it belongs to them and they bring it to a soccer field.
4
u/ArgenGringoUSA 12h ago
You mean a guy who doesn't speak English, and was invited to the WH with his team to be honored for winning the MLS championship, actually joined everyone else in clapping? Oh, no. And don't you think he probably thought Trump was giving remarks about the team, not the conflict? Give it up, dude.
Also, what did Trump actually say? That we were responding to a brutal man who has been attacking us for 47 years, and who has been brutal even to his own people, and that our soldiers are amazing? I guess to the orange man bad crowd, those were truly horrific words. But to anyone using their brains, it makes complete sense and IS to be applauded.

- Messi have said he understand English, He just dont speak it.
- Many others have declined an invitaiton. Why couldn't he?
People are babying a 40 year old man like he wouldn't understand what he is doing. lol. But atleast get the facts correct. He understands very well and speaks it privatly
As i said. it all depends on where you live if you think Messi is the kindest most humble person. The people in Iran or the ones on the Island they claim belong to them that don't want anything to do with Argentina beg to differ. How is it going with using your own brain? How could you be so sure Messi don't understand English? you seem to be a huge fan?
0
u/ArgenGringoUSA 12h ago
He COULD have declined. But why the hell would he do that? Not everything (or almost anything) about Trump and the Presidency is an end-of-times moral fiasco national no-kings emergency like you orange-man-bad crowd are so deluded into thinking. The Left has turned their political views into their atheistic religion, and Trump is their Satan (except they're atheists, so God and the devil don't exist). They can't look past politics because every political issue is an existential threat to their political religion world view.

Yeah many others did. People say Messi only cares about football and being an introvert. And then we have people like you that claims he don't even understand and think he is praising Inter miami. Guy is living as a multi millionare in Miami, he have much more things in common with Trump thant most others, so why should he decline? Both of them are also doing taxfrauds.
It's people like you that createes rumors that he is so nice and humble. (that he don't understand whats going on, he dont even understand English)
Why are you doing that? Are you working in his pr team or what?
Why not sticking to the truth? You talk about others should using their brains and are deluded...
No it's hard to understand you mate, you are trying to deceive people and then you are blaming them for being deluded

u/ArgenGringoUSA 11h ago
Messi doesn't speak English. Surely you've heard him in commercials where he parrots a couple of words in English, and seen him barely able to say "Foul? Foul? Ref, foul?" out on the field?
He sort of claims to understand it, but you can't really understand a spoken language very well if you can't speak it. I've been there. They go almost hand in hand.
Regardless, as I said, he has no reason to boycott Trump. He's not a member of the Religious Cult of the Left-wing Loons. Sure, others have refused, but they're idiots. There's no reason to be such a prick as to boycott the president's invitation. Unless you belong to the Cult.
Lastly, my original repsonse was to the complaint that he clapped for what Trump said. Well, what Trump said was perfectly reasonable and applaud-worthy. Unless you think that our service members suck and that the Iranian regime should keep attacking us and their own people with no consquences.

u/Smooth_Drive3089 11h ago
Just make a simple google. He says he understands everything in English. No i'm not saying anything about that. I'm more arguing over the fact that most people are making up excuses for Messi. He don't need to be that humble nice guy that everyone is covering up for him to be. It's ok.
As i said. Messi more likely like Truimp than not, he is multi millionare living in Miami that earlier tried to hide money (or his dad, don't matter who, it was his money) Trump is good news for Messi personally. We just dont have to make excuses for a 40 year old man.
1
u/ArgenGringoUSA 10h ago
Having a different opinion isn't "making excuses".
1
u/Smooth_Drive3089 10h ago
Bruh, you are saying he dont understand English even. When he understands everything. That is making up excuse and is not an opinion.

I need to download this video and show everyone that says taller athletes are better. That's the literal GOAT and he looks tiny compared to everyone on England.

Is this not typical of most players at the end of (most) games? Not at France vs Paraguay, but that was an outlier.
2
u/ArgenGringoUSA 12h ago
But HE went around to all of THEM. They didn't do it, he did. Not the biggest thing in the world, and yes it should be the normal sportsman thing that everyone does. But the Brits sure weren't doing it themselves. No big deal. On to the next molehill to make another mountain out of.
1
u/blartoyou 11h ago
That’s what the players do? I mean, it’s nice. But not unique.
1
u/ArgenGringoUSA 10h ago
You say "that's what players do. But which players? Not the Englishmen at this game. No big deal, but it is what it is.
1
u/blartoyou 24m ago
Sure. You never see other teams SHAKING HANDS AFTER A MATCH. Oh my god, the amazing Messi has invented SHAKING HANDS AFTER A MATCH. How did he ever think of such a thing? /s JFC.

Messi single-handedly turning a grueling semifinal around with two masterclass assists in the dying minutes, and then immediately muting his own historic celebrations to console every single England player on the pitch is why he's the greatest. You can win all the trophies in the world, but that level of sportsmanship and humility after an absolute war of a match is what separates legends from the rest. Total class.

That’s what professionals do. It’s not praise worthy, but he does stand out because many of his teammates are cunts.

Then proceeds to be a sore winner by celebrating with the Falklands banner losers after the English players left the pitch.

Just a bunch of uneducated multi-millionaires congratulating each other! Awesome!

Curious if he would do the same if ARG lost…
That’s what shows true character

u/dennis-w220 13h ago
He had a famous pic with Gotze who scored the only goal agaist Argentina to win the WC in 2014 final. After the match, Gotze asked for a picture with the medal still around his neck. He is a big fan.
I am not saying Messi is perfect, but seems to be quite humble in general.
