Video Beautiful swing but everything that follows might be the most painful thing these eyes ever laid on!

Yep. I was thinking the same thing. Kid ejected immediately.

They don’t get paid enough to have to have to deal with what I could only imagine the kids parents are like.

Leagues should also make it an automatic suspension for players whose parents interfere with the game.

My daughter’s softball league was sorta like that. The umps must’ve received instructions beforehand or something - they would toss a parent without thinking twice. The parents choices were to comply with the ejection (usually within 2 minutes), or the team forfeited.

Occasionally - like once or twice a year - some mom (it was usually a mom) would get too into it and get tossed, then she’d act incredulous, then the other moms would mom-shame her, and while that was happening the kids would line up to say ‘good game’. Usually about 3 innings in.

At the games afterwards, the other parents held each other pretty accountable.

I remember one time the ump called the coaches out and told them to get the parents under control (there was a heckling, but it was routine) or there would be consequences. This one dad yelled in “c’mon blue - that was a strike!” and another dad got right into his face about it. Neither one backed down, they got into a full on fistfight about whether or not to shut the fuck up. The ump ended the game anyway, but not until the police showed up to detain both dads.

I’ve never seen a kid look as embarrassed as those 9-year old girls did when their dads were being arrested. I also remember the entire team rallying around them (hugs and stuff), so at least that part was good.

I'm in the Netherlands and probably been close to 30 of my daughter's softball games.

I've never seen an unruly parent. One got mildly told by her kid's coach to cool it when cheering a bit too enthusiastically.

Imagine being afraid of parents. What're they going to do, beat you? If that's the case carry bear spray.

There’s been grandparents who find umps in parking lots in select ball in my city.

Umps won’t even eject kids for full on tackling players because they don’t want to deal with coaches or parents.

Fucking wild and sad.

That sucks though, no need to ruin it for the kids who should be there.
