u/habba88 20h ago
There's a story he tells about getting in to acting because he meant to take a movement class to help with his sporting career and showed up at the wrong classroom. Which you know it's bullshit. Just admit you wanted to pretend to be other people for a living and that you couldn't admit it to your jock mates because they thought acting was too fruity. Coward. That's why he has to be hyper masculine in fucking everything.

u/DonkeyGuy 19h ago
Way to many tough guy actors have the story of: oh I just stumbled ass backwards into acting school on my way to Introductary Bench-Pressing and Lady-Fucking.

u/Ok_Response_9255 18h ago
You know what though? Vin Diesel may be a weird freak, but the guy readily admits to only playing a fuck load of D&D and always wanted to be an actor. Guy knows who he is and honestly I can kind of respect it.
Plus he's Riddick, which is my dad's favourite series of movies.
41
u/leveled_81 17h ago
Wasn’t he actually a bouncer? I thought Vin Diesel was his bouncer name that he kept as an actor.

u/doitup69 17h ago

Fuck acting. Where’s this bench press and lady fucking class? Is it at the community college?
16
u/DonkeyGuy 14h ago
That’s the thing, there’s is no Bench Press and Lady Fucking class, it’s just a ruse to get meatheads to wander into theatre 101z
26
u/habba88 19h ago
Oh man absolutely! I'm certain that was the story Harrison Ford had. "Oh I was just a floating carpenter minding my own business. The acting staff needed someone so obviously they did the absolute only thing they could, asked the dummy in the tool belt and fuck me ! He can act?!" Ok Pal, sure.
111
u/fonk_pulk 19h ago
/uj Thats not the story he tells. He had already been in some movies and dropped acting to become a carpenter because the roles he got were shit.
44
u/Simple1Spoon 18h ago
Ford specifically wanted to be an actor, but was a carpenter because he wasnt getting any big roles. He was only going to do carpentry until he hit it big acting.

I know this entire sub is just shit posting, but Jesus dude, chill out lol. If he really was that "cowardly" about being in a acting class what does he gain by saying g he went accidentally and then opening staying there anyways?
6
u/chimpanon 17h ago
He went to a Starbucks i worked at a couple years ago. Venti black coffee. Downed it in 3 mins without smiling once. His wife and kids were there.
2
u/Algorak1289 12h ago
Did he say "venti" or "large"?
2
u/chimpanon 12h ago
Idk I was unfortunately on break when he ordered. When my coworkers told me what he ordered i laughed in such an obnoxious way that he and his wife looked at me weird from across the room.

It’s why I have a lot of respect for Nick Offerman
Plays some of the most macho guys, is a bit older so very much did grow up with the macho stuff around, and could easily put it on but is just happy to be himself and admit to just enjoying it
6
u/684beach 18h ago
I dont see how anyone sees him as a macho guy, instead of just grumpy nature type

u/Phenomenomix 16h ago edited 14h ago
Didn’t he got to theatre school in Russia or something? I feel like that was performative, as in going to theatre school somewhere tough, but also far away so there’s no chance of anyone he knows seeing him doing any of the classes or in any performances

It's even cringier when you know he grew up pampered with his wealthy family yet he wants to parade as a tough guy from the streets. That clip of him on Joe Rogan's podcast that went around a few months ago where he talks about almost killing someone over a dog is one of the cringiest fake tough guy dudebro shit you'll ever see.

I can agree that they are more vicious than most dogs without hating them.
Hating the people that are ignorant to their problems is another thing.

They can be very loving dogs and I have had puppies play with my friends pitts and the pits would let the puppies bite them and nip without ever even growing, BUT you can’t ignore their physiology, unlike a lab, all those muscles in their neck and jaws turn a bite into a very serious situation

His tough guy act is so tiresome.
I remember how he didn’t want to fake a punch in “Wolf of Wall Street” and basically told Jonah Hill “I’m going to hit you for real” or something.
You’re an actor dude, calm down.

When filming one of the tank scenes for 'FURY', Shia LaBeouf was in the tank about to pull out one of his teeth with real pliers & shaking.
Ayer suggested he use a prosthetic or prop until LaBeouf said - "You ain't breaking me, David. There's nothing you can do to break me!"
