Travis Scott the first character you see on screen in probably Chris Nolan’s Magnum Opus is the most hilarious thing.

And he was…good? I thought he was good. I had zero idea it was him until the credits

I found him distracting. Tbh I feel like he was the only part of the movie that didn’t work cuz he distracted with his below-par acting. I’m not even a hater of his. I like some of his music, but bro cannot deliver lines with confidence or conviction.

u/Bird_and_Dog 5h ago

He had a marginal amount of lines, and they were shouted in a crowded room to set the tone. I don't think there was enough to even call it a good or bad performance.

He worked for me. He didn’t have to do much to consider it subpar

u/BluRayja 4h ago

Agreed. Anyone saying "he didn't have enough to do to be considered good," I legit wonder if they've ever heard a person speak a normal sentence. Travis Scott's delivery was so unsure of itself, in tone, clarity, belief, culture, background -- literally everything it takes for even a below fiver to be convincing on film

The dude who looked like Travis Scott.

u/heathmon1856 5h ago

What part? I seriously don’t notice.

u/TJeffersonsBlackKid 5h ago

So you remember the part where the guy who looked like Travis Scott was on screen? That part.

Lol fr, he’s the black dude at the beginning who is reciting the poem.

u/heathmon1856 5h ago

Lmao. How the fuck did I miss that???

u/Tackit286 4h ago

I couldn’t remember what Travis Scott looked like. I knew he was in the film but only found out who he was after watching it.

The Muse at the start of the film, interrupted to not continue the Iliad story. Appears at the end too.

Lol for real?

It actually pissed me off. I will never be able to look at him without imagining those poor people dying so horribly at his concert and his dumb ass being the last sounds they heard

ohh brother

Perfectly cast too, and never felt like Travis Scott

Only afterwards did I think how big of a flex it was to make such a wild choice actually work

I think Oppenheimer is his magnum opus and his best work, personally.

u/VenusAndMarsReprise 2h ago

he never bested Memento imo

I think both it and The Odyssey are better, but God nothing beats Interstellar for me. I’m also a sucker for a good sci-fi movie about saving the world but it’s by far my favorite movie of all time behind only Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

That’s what you wanted to reply about their comment? Reddit gonna reddit

u/wellggs 3h ago

That’s what YOU wanted to reply?

u/eQuantix 3h ago

It was about TC being in the movie. He even uses the word ‘probably’ to signify that it’s subjective and not everyone will agree that it’s his magnum opus. Then the first comment is saying how they disagree as they deem a different movie his magnum opus.

Like yeah that’s why they said probably and they didn’t even address the main point of the comment. Just wanted to have an ackshually moment

u/ImIsaacOk 3h ago

The entire theatre laughed when he showed up, took a second for everyone to get situated after that lol

The only part of the movie I didn’t like, personally. Completely took me out of the movie. I can’t stand him, so that didn’t help either.
