I feel like the massive grapefruit on one of the packages is a good indicator which is which

Don't underestimate the autopilot function people have in the morning

Luckily, they don’t put the Grapefruit juice Next to the milk (at least not in my Edeka)

13

u/YonaiNanami 2h ago

And since when your personal fridge stands in edeka? It’s not about accidentally buying the wrong thing but accidentally taking the wrong one out of the fridge at home.

Does Edeka make fridges now? In my Bosch fridge milk and juice cartons stand next to each other.

2

u/Un_OwenJoe 3h ago

Nah my autopilot is to look at the pack too see if I pick the right one

Or the prints about hoe the cows are held.

Or the pretty big text.

Ussually Milk and juices are also in 2 completely different parts of the supermarket. Juices are with the rest of drinks. (Water, softdrinks, alcoholic beverages). And milk with other dairy products

Yes, but in the fridge at home they'll likely be standing next to each other, or close to each other at least, with the bottom 1/3 covered by the rack.

Correct! It's funny everyone is pointing out that you can figure out which is which, of course you can. But grapefruit juice is usually not a white box but blue and orange so if you just grab the first white bottle in the morning you have to now pay attention which one you take

u/No-Victory3764 3h ago

You gotta pay attention to the different players being featured lol

u/Enog 35m ago

Simple solution, grab a permanent marker and put a big X on one of them (your choice which). Then when you want that one, grab the carton with the X

u/RichVisual1714 4h ago

I imagine my wife pouring grapefruit juice into her morning coffee XD

2

u/No-Victory3764 3h ago

That's how you discover a weird food combination that tastes good!

4

u/Cool-Newspaper-1 4h ago

It’s not about the supermarket, it’s about opening the fridge in the morning and pouring it into your cereal bowl.

3

u/RugbyEdd 2h ago

Jokes on you, that's the milk

4

u/Beartato4772 3h ago

There are also some subtle but important word based clues.

2

u/Oberndorferin 1h ago

I see myself picking the wrong carton out of routine.

u/lovellyophelia 56m ago

Bold you to assume the OP will read past milk before pouring. 💀

-2

u/justanawkwardguy you do it like this 2h ago

Pro tip: don’t store them directly next to each other

9

u/_Bisky 4h ago

Und sehen halt netmal groß gleich aus.

Halt nur die Deutschland Flagge, DFB Logo+ Nationalmannschaft print. Und selbst das ist nicht gleich

If you get confused about the giant grapefruit when you want milk

You have different problems

Harter Tobak

Everyone is cracking jokes... Until they grap the carton from the fridge to pour juice in their coffee!

My tired ass would absolutely make this mistake in the morning only to realize what happened on the highway when i take a sip.

That's why we learned to read at school.

Oh man I would hate to accidentally get milk when I'm trying to get my grapefruit juice. I love grapefruit

This is now a German Post. Danke for your cooperation.

These type of milk is always funny to me because there’s no cow on the packaging so I like to imagine that some clueless person probably thought that they milked the footballers and sold it.

10

u/Exotic_Butters_23 4h ago

Man kann sie trotzdem gut unterscheiden... Wegen dem offensichtlichen Abbild einer Grapefruit...

6

u/eepykiraz 3h ago

Everybody's joking but I've never seen juice in a white carton. It feels wrong...

3

u/vctrmldrw 3h ago

I hate to break it to you but plastic jugs is the weird one. Most of the world uses recyclable tetra pak style cartons now.

7

u/anon4hlp 3h ago

This Grapefruit juice is usually in a blue and orange package though. They just changed the colours for the WC

0

u/vctrmldrw 2h ago

Our cartons are usually pretty similar except for the writing on the front and a big picture of the relevant fruit. We do ok... it's certainly never struck me as anything infuriating.

7

u/No-Victory3764 3h ago

What's slightly more than "mildly" infuriating is the amount of geniuses here pointing out that you can tell them apart, or they are sold in different sections. No shit, Sherlock.

6

u/anon4hlp 3h ago

Yeah I wasn't aware the design department of edeka had such a strong lobby here on Reddit.

4

u/SpeedBlitzX 4h ago

Imagine someone adds grapefruit into the coffee thinking if was milk.

Or grapefruit into their tea thinking it was milk.

2

u/YonaiNanami 3h ago

For someone who doesn’t like milk in tea the grapefruit idea sounds definitely better anyway xD

6

u/thisismyaccountsoyea 4h ago

Is the milk the one with or without the giant grapefruit on it?

3

u/UGMadness 3h ago

It's grapefruit flavored milk

2

u/ramriot 3h ago

They also taste about the same if you are patient.

u/Desperate_Turn8935 27m ago

Must be really hard for people to read stuff these days...

u/puerrotuerto 7m ago

Forbidden Cappuccino

2

u/Slahnya 3h ago

But they don't, it's very easy to distinguish

Me when I can’t read

u/ACPlay18 4h ago

You can read, right?

u/Schrankmaier 3h ago

1

1

u/elfy4eva 3h ago

Hmm grapefruit juice over cereal.

Let them cook!

1

u/LunaticSquirrel1 3h ago

Digga ess Käse

1

u/anon4hlp 3h ago

Wenn man beide mischt, kommt bestimmt etwas Käse ähnliches raus

1

u/Ok-Calligrapher-9703 3h ago

Ist das Spritzmilch?

1

u/teomore 2h ago

you mean cow juice

u/lovellyophelia 59m ago

One sip of that milk with your cereal and suddenly it’s a punishment, not breakfast 😭

1

u/lonely-live 4h ago

People gotta pay attention to what they’re buying

1

u/werewolf-luvr 3h ago

I mean. No? You can very clearly see the difference at even a simple glance.. ones got a fruit on it right in the front and center

1

u/j0nnnnn 3h ago

You have a different definition of "same" to me

1

u/Whooptidooh 2h ago

Aside from the obvious grapefruit pictured on the right carton, it’s also literally spelled out what’s inside.

1

u/Rickybobbie90 1h ago

Can you not see the huge grapefruit on the front or read the word ?

0

u/veskishosa 4h ago

Going home realizing that instead of milk you got juice would be really stupid...

4

u/xcapaciousbagx 3h ago

They probably just pulled the wrong one out of the fridge.

1

u/Dukemaster96 4h ago

That can't really happen accidentally because there is no edeka where milk and juice aren't in different corners of the supermarket.

0

u/odmirthecrow 3h ago

Hey, so why did they start putting pictures of grapefruits on the milk? Like, what do grapefruits have to do with milk? Do cows eat grapefruit or something?

- OP, probably.

-2

u/didimdimi 3h ago

Where is this infuriating?
