u/Shaan_Don 17h ago

I was thinking the exact same thing lmao. It’s like someone turned on the Mexico filter outside

u/SadKat002 8h ago

The last time I remember it being that dark out in the middle of the day was during the solar eclipse last year. That shit was fucking awesome btw, first one I got to experience in person. The entire vibe in the air shifted, it was dope.

This, on the other hand, is not dope.

Congrats, you learned what it’s like to live above California for one month out of every year lmao

Unfortunately it managed to stay hot as hell AND get smoky where I’m at.

This is what happens, America! This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps!

u/Zarniwoooop 18h ago

Far out. Far fucking out, man.

I thought americans all have AC and are used to 600 Fahrenheit summers??

44

u/Shnurple 18h ago

That's the south

35

u/Eternal_Reward 15h ago

The fuck it is.

Just because we’re used to it and have AC doesn’t mean I’m gonna miss a chance to piss and moan about it.

u/PmButtPics4ADrawing 17h ago

We still have to go outside sometimes

7

u/Fresh-Anteater-5933 17h ago

It’s nice to be able to leave the house now and then

3

u/Far_Tea_579 12h ago

Not in this heat.

3

u/PopBulky7023 8h ago

Plenty of us work outside or have cars without a/c. Or both.

2

u/mister_empty_pants 7h ago

I still have to go outside occasionally to mow the grass, tend to my garden, and grill meat in my magnum American backyard.

No we just dont think 30c is hot like the british. Thats a pleasant summer afternoon. But in the uk you die from heat stroke

u/goddamnitcletus 19h ago

It’s 95 and smoky in Philly rn 😭

2

u/MilkyMiltank 11h ago

They kept showing how bad the smoke was during the phils game earlier

6

u/NeezDutzzz 17h ago

Yeah I'm in WA and that's true for sure. We both share our smoke with each other often.

Canadians when half of the United States was burning: Send planes and firefighters to help!

Americans when half of Canada is burning: thanks for the fucking smoke, Canada. Way to ruin the weekend.

I'll agree, but only if you also agree to saw off the former confederacy from the rest of us.

103

u/Xanosaur 19h ago

please, as a Canadian, please do this. get away from us

-18

u/top2percent 12h ago

As a Canadian, you don’t speak for all Canadians.

10

u/Xanosaur 12h ago

-7

u/top2percent 12h ago

What about Alaska?

12

u/Muffles7 17h ago

Alaska can come, too.

THE END.

4

u/Skinneeh 15h ago

So here we have the ice capes melting, meteor becoming crashed in to us, the Ozone layer leaving, the sun exploding

0

u/wravyn 12h ago

Alaska is just Canada West, they can have it.

1

u/Darth_Preposterous 17h ago

I want my oceanfront properties please!

9

u/ronthorns 19h ago

Listen, China is trying to use a direct energy weapon on New York City, in defense, we lit Canada on fire to throw a smoke screen

3

u/mashedpotatoes_52 communist overlord 15h ago

Sorry!

7

u/Frusciante62 20h ago

Yea thanks.

2

u/Buxombarbarian 9h ago

It's so bad. I'm in southern Ontario, and earlier today I could literally see smoke moving through the air in front of me

3

u/MQ327 2h ago

Them Canadians they’re always so nice in everything they do. So considerate!

11

u/a500poundchicken 18h ago

Here we go with another fucking cycle of americans complaining about thousands of canadians lives being changed because they get a unfortunate after math of their houses burning.

4

u/silverbacksunited12 17h ago

I live in a forest fire haven in southern british columbia. And so many summers we actively smoked out by forest forest fires in washington/oregon/California. The damn east coast Americans have no idea that their western counterparts burn just as much if not more.

13

u/Shnurple 18h ago

I'm asthmatic, this time whole thing makes it hurt to exist. I know shits bad up there, but it doesn't make down here suck less

16

u/a500poundchicken 17h ago

Yk what that’s fair enough it’s just really tiring dealing with the fires up here every year and have Americans act like they’re the main victims, even blaming us.

7

u/SCP_fan12 12h ago

I’m from Southern California (we get wildfires every month) and I fully understand how you feel.

-11

u/Eternal_Reward 15h ago

It’s a meme on the internet my guy, you’ll survive. It’s not gonna change the wild fires either way.

9

u/a500poundchicken 15h ago

Yk seeing americans complain about the smoke and act like its our fault when I know people who have lost everything to forests fires fucking suck.

Whenever america has bad fires canada helps but whenever Canada is having a time of it americans complain and their governments file actual legal complaints with us.

Doom: the dark ages

1

u/Ok-Astronaut2976 15h ago

Me: person who intentionally scheduled a week off because the forecast was hot and sunny and wanted to go to the beach all week.

-1

u/InbetweenTheLayers 18h ago

It has been hot earlier in the week, but raining today, thanks Canada!

-2

u/Cultural-Ad-2918 14h ago

We do this to stop global warming duh eh!

-4

u/LittlespaceLadybuns 15h ago

Are those flaming maple leaves I smell?

The smoke smells sweet.
