SCIENCE & TECH massive hard rock get pushed into the stone crushing machine by workers using hands and feet.

u/Milliondollarjuice 2h ago
No worries. They are wearing their safety sandals.

u/Fergue8on 1h ago
Yeah this thing crushes rocks not sandals, they're totally fine

u/vikinxo 1h ago
The machine goes: Gimme-Gimme-Gimme-Gimme-Gimme-Gimme-Gimme-Gimme-Gimme-----
•
u/hizashiYEAHmada 18m ago
Out there unfortunately is a video of a guy who does what the kid did in the video but falls into the machine, hangs on for dear life while getting slowly buried with the rocks lined up for the machine as his coworkers scramble to find the stop mechanism, but it's too late

And loose clothing

Yeah, dude's pant leg so close to that wheel was making me a little nervous.

See the first guy had his safety sandals and got the guy with the heavy duty safety slides.

Also, eye protection is cumbersome and really more a distractive danger than anything else…

I don't like how close his leg is to that spinning piece

There's a cover over it so not so bad but has holes in it so loose clothes could get caught in it. So not so bad and not so good both at the same time

u/Crafty_Dog_4226 1h ago
Is there a cover over the flywheel? I am seeing color change on the top of it. Keep these guys away from PTOs.

How much is he actually moving that rock though?

a rock that size is probably 500kg+, his leg is as useful as a bird farting on a brick

Would be considered more valuable than the workers in places like that.

Damn the spinning wheel behind him as hes hitting the stone scares me the most.

Somebody could probably build a little excavator boom setup for a thousand bucks that would reach down in there and pull the rocks anytime needed

Or a pneumatic hammer with a long bit to break it up from the bottom where it is jammed

The weight of that rock is at the point where he is contributing next to nothing, and putting himself in danger for no reason.

Imagine waking up every day and realizing this is your lot in life. Dangerousness aside, how would you feel knowing that you wake up every day to turn big rocks into smaller rocks?
Does it pay well? - "no"
Is it rewarding? - "no"
Is it hard work? - "very"
Is there anything else you could be doing within walking distance? - "no"

that baggy trouser leg right next to the whirring drive wheel is making me sweat…but it’s all for a good cause (you want the quarry conglomerate owner to have that second smaller 150’ yacht he can take to lake como, don’t you? you see, they don’t allow the mega-yachts on the lake.)

u/GrapefruitPrimary186 38m ago
If you get rid of OSHA like MAGA wants to do, there companies will have you doing shit like this and you cant stop them. A company i worked for in the US showed us training videos of that same company operating in India, and they were doing basically this. The company even admitted that the employees worked like that because there were no regulations.

I was really impressed with how effortlessly it was crushing those first stones but then it got stuck on a big one for the next 5 minutes

Safety sandals, loose clothing next to a rotating machine, chipping away at it with Mjölnir's cousin, standing on belt.... You crazy for this shit India.

What exactly is this machine and on a scale of jelly beans to chest burster how much do you really not want to fall into it?

Ffs you guys needs to see the difference between interesting and devastating. No one should be working in theses conditions

Imagine if that ended 10seconds earlier and we had to wait for part 2. Behind a paywall.

I cannot believe I watched that for 6 minutes and then wanted it to keep going.

Trying to kick in the rocks into the machine by yourself, what could go wrong?
1
u/Proud-Parsley6072 1h ago
It’s the spinning wheel directly beside those baggy pants I’d be more concerned about tbh

u/Unregistered_Davion 1h ago
After seen a poor soul fall into one of these I was holding my breath everything he stepped on the rocks that would be fed in next. Thats how the person I saw fall in did it. Slipped on the one rock right into it and the rocks already in there held him in place so there was no way of escaping. Has to be one of the worst ways to go.

I worked in a mine in my youth. Worked on a similar machine, used the sledgehammer to break up the big rocks. So fucking satisfying. We obviously had much better protection though.

Loose fitting clothing around a barely guarded spinning wheel.
My employer makes me wear PPE for the 1/1000000 chance of something happening. These guy have a 1/100 chance of something happening and nadda.

u/HorrorLARPer 33m ago
One wrong step or piece of clothes getting pulled, and it's not just the rocks getting crushed.
•
u/HelpFindThisSpoon 33m ago
Never ceases to baffle me how little regard these people have for their own safety.
•
u/Popular-Impact-7665 33m ago
I did that same job one summer. That was the drities, nosiest job ever. He is good with the hammer. If the rock won't go through the crusher jaw you have to rig it out of there. That's less fun then singing a sledge

Who designs and manufactures these death trap machines. And why are they wearing their customary dress and sandals to work if that’s their job. Idiots
•
u/sawsawjim 11m ago
The flywheel right behind his foot is far more dangerous and would probably just rip his leg off. It has a lot of inertia.

•
u/Nunov_DAbov 9m ago
This is a training video for new employees.
Standing on a rock that is supported by the one you are trying to get loose is certainly the best way to get those rocks moving along. These obviously are the guys with cat-like reflexes, ready to jump out of the way. The rest didn’t pass the course.
•
u/haveyoutriedpokingit 9m ago
I was fine until he out his foot beside that flywheel thing. I said Yikessss.

I fucking love their tiktok channel.
one of them, CrusherKing, has just very on the nose tough guy machismo type titles and descriptions. Very homo-erotic
"Big strong men crush giant stones with the strength of REAL POWER. Crushing machines make short work of weak stones with the labor of POWERFUL MEN
Follow for more from CrusherKing!"
