More or less. the whole neighborhood had kidnapped a number of gang-related suspects along with the mom. This wife showed herself in a video about the exchange for her husband – apparently it took two tries the second including said mom telling her kid to do the thing. Local police involved, other gang members being held for some time, the whole community just fucking done with the kidnapping.
Interesting story. Wonder where this wife and other key players are now, how safe. Etc.

If gangs are so eager to be involved in the community, get into politics.
I'd like to see them pick a side and be vocal about it.

In some parts of the world, the difference between gang and politician is simply the number of guns.

In some parts of the world
The only difference between most governments and most crime organizations, is the amount of paperwork...

The winners wrote the history books, etc.
Say that to the confederates after the American Civil War :)

Really the difference is that governments claim a monopoly on violence, whereas crime organizations see it as a tool of choice in a competitive world

Lol this is the worst advice
Gangs bribe and assassinate politicians on a daily basis.

In some places they actually do. Good for criminal business to be involved in decicion making.

Never mind cheating, he’s lost every argument or the ability to say no to any request for the rest of his life.

Gf’s dad got kidnapped back in the day. But he was with his mistress so they grabbed her, too.
His wife had to pay the ransom to get him back.
Not sure about the mistress.
Yikes.

Looking at his face I don't think he will even intend to cheat on this queen.

In December 2016, the town of San Miguel Totolapan, Guerrero, was dealing with constant threats from a local gang led by Raybel Jacobo de Almonte, also known as "El Tequilero." The situation reached a breaking point when the gang kidnapped a local construction engineer named Isauro de Paz Duque.
Rather than waiting for outside help, the townspeople decided to take action themselves. Isauro’s wife, Yadira Guillermo Garcia, led the effort to track down people they believed were helping the gang, eventually capturing the gang leader’s mother.
Yadira recorded a video to address the situation, telling the leader, "I have your mother here, Mr. Tequilero. I propose an exchange: I'll give you your mother if you give me my husband, but I want him safe and sound."
The move forced a response, leading to the deployment of over 200 soldiers and police officers to the area to help negotiate a deal. The standoff ended when the vigilantes released the gang leader's mother in exchange for the safe return of Isauro de Paz Duque, though the community did hold onto about 18 to 20 other suspected collaborators against government wishes.
While this action successfully brought the engineer home, it didn't end the violence in Guerrero. The gang leader, El Tequilero, remained active until he was killed in a police shootout in 2018. The instability persisted, resulting in a 2022 attack on the San Miguel Totolapan town hall where gunmen killed 20 people, including the town's mayor and his father. Even though the 2016 standoff showed how residents could organize against local crime, the region continued to struggle with deep-seated violence.

Thanks... I admire their play but assumed 'no way was that the end of the story.'
I wish them all well.

My wife may do that, if she ran out of things to watch on Netflix and noticed I was gone.

I sincerely wish this was how every community across the globe treated gang members. I also wish it were lawful.

Lol, most of my trouble has always come in the form of government and their better paid gangs (police)

Kidnapping escalates until everyone is just living with their loved one’s kidnappers families.
Kind of sounds like a messed up Disney channel movie.

If 1 person breaks the rules than everyone can break the rules. That's what these criminals never understood. They have just been lucky ordinary people didn't wanna hurt people. Especially in the modern age a child could accidentally kill you with a gun.

That guy who saved his wife from the shark by punching it until it let her go? This is the wife equivalent.
