How dare you! That is not a stupid question, and you need to be nicer to yourself.

A frisket is a thin sheet of self adhesive masking film made out of plastic. It’s commonly used for airbrushing; but it’s also used for other 2D mediums, since it’s less likely to cause damage to the paper. I’ve seen it most often with illustration work.
