Joke / Meme I had a dumb idea: carpets that represent famous holes

Just discovered this thing called tufting to make carpets and was looking if any existed that had the design of a golf hole, and could not find one.

I think it could be so cool to have those in an office, or use them as putt training carpet for fun with a nice design of the hole instead of just green.

This is wat G did for pebble beach. Not exactly the same but I think it's groovy, what do you think?

EDIT:
these people had similar ideas, and also did pebble beach + augusta funny:

General Discussion Sad Golf Story...for me

Post image
462 Upvotes

Decided to play a round after work today, despite the terrible air quality in NY, due to the wildfires in Canada. I already missed playing yesterday because of the smoke, had to play today since we only get so many nice days in NY. Go to the club and am playing by myself, not playing great, but just got a new putter today and was playing well with that.

Get to the 14th, par 3 158, a bit downhill, so probably playing 148. Hit my 8I and there was too much draw/hook that pulled it left of the green, just into the rough. I was not happy with that, so tee up another ball just practice and wouldn't you know it...beautiful high draw, one small hop on the front of the green and it rolls beautifully into the cup for my first ever "hole-in-one"!

I'm standing there in disbelief as the guy just finishing up on the last hole rides over and I tell him that I think that I just put that shot in. So, he rides down to the green with me, I'm walking, and checks the hole...he gives me a clap and a thumbs up that it's in there. Then I tell him my bad news...that while I did hit a ball into the hole from the tee...it was a second, practice ball due to my annoyance of my shot shape.

So now I am home crying...but at least I will have a fun story for life, I guess...

General Discussion I miss David Feherty

Maybe it’s just me, but I struggle with this broadcast team. I don’t mind criticism when it’s insightful, but too often it comes across as unnecessary digs at players followed by long-winded conversations that don’t add much. Anyone else feel this way, or am I being too harsh?

Help me like these two?

Yes, I know I’m 4 years removed from when Feherty left.

On a road trip in Iceland. Opposite the hotel, beyond a camp site there’s a little golf course. 11pm, still light, people still playing 💪

General Discussion What is your handicap and what do you say when someone asks you if you are good at golf?

Right now I sit around a 12-14 handicap and whenever someone asks me if I am good at golf I'm not really sure what to say. Feels like it depends on who is asking because compared to someone that isn't good I am a fairly good golfer but compared to actual good golfers I suck. I'm curious how other people feel.

PGA / LPGA / LIV Jackson Suber had played a total of 27 links golf holes in his life, starting this past Monday. He now leads The Open Championship on his own after an exceptional first-round 65.

I finally broke 80! Have had a PB of 82 and been flirting with breaking it for a few rounds recently. What a great feeling! Took lessons each of the last 2 years in the off-season and the work paid off. Hopefully you all experience this kind of round!

Serious Cherish those rounds

My father and I played regularly for the past 30 years. For a long time it was weekly when I was kid, and then when life got busier our scheduled slowed down to monthly round. He finally retired about two years ago and my career was in a place where we could get back to biweekly rounds.

Unfortunately, eight months ago he was diagnosed with cancer - and this past weekend he finished his fight. Sitting in the aftermath of all of this is the thought that I would give almost anything for one more round. Both the round itself and the time just spent chatting feel like massive gaps now.

Whether it be friends, family, whoever - enjoy that time out there. Whenever something does change it’ll always be too soon.

Cancer fucking sucks.
