Running onto the field at a driving range is the fastest way to fuck around and find out.

They kick you out where I am if you do it. Like taking your mask off in a paintball round

Totally makes sense. Complete idiots still get to have their day in court, even if it’s entirely their fault.

Like what is she doing? Last Top Golf I was at you did not pay for a bucket of balls, it was by the hour, you want a new ball you press the button.

When i was on golf team as a kid in high school we spent a few class periods a week at the driving range. Guy that drove the cart around to sweep up the balls was a dick, but if someone hit the cart with a ball while he was out there driving around, he would get irate. Kinda ridiculous, I mean theres a reason why that cart was surrounded in fencing, not to mention when youre firing balls 250 yards downrange, it aint like you have a lot of control where theyre gonna land.
Anyway, one day we were out there practicing and the cart got hit by one of our balls and he lost his mind. Came flying back up to the tee in the cart, screaming he was going to beat the shit out of all of us motherfuckers, oldest of which was 15. Coach had to get involved and the two of them almost got into a fistfight right there before some of the other people working there deescalated the situation.
Definitely the most interesting day I ever had at the driving range lol

Poor lil dude is trying so hard, but the golf club is twice his height

u/ImKindaBoring 16h ago
Yeah. Wonder why he isn’t using the kids clubs. Or, more accurately, why he wasn’t given the kids clubs to use

u/reefchieferr 15h ago
And parents just filming him fail for internet points instead of teaching him. Fucking gross

I mean this poor kid can't do anything because the stick is way too long. Totally reasonable to be frustrated

u/quaglady 23h ago
They have kids clubs, he's probably just too cool for them, because he's a kid.
3
u/ImKindaBoring 16h ago
That age it’s probably more of a “want to use the big clubs like daddy/brother/whstever” rather than a perception of being cool. Younger the kids are the faster they want to grow up and do everything just like the older family around them.
That or, for some reason, the kids clubs weren’t given to him.

u/StirFry__InaWok 20h ago
The kid is the whole point of the post lol, why even bother questioning the stupid actions of the guy that is also in the frame for a few seconds?

Who is Yamal?

u/ZnarfGnirpslla 22h ago
One of the most famous football players out there at the moment and the biggest emerging star of the sport for sure.

u/Secret-Bag9562 17h ago
Thanks. I recognize him when I looked him up, but didn’t know the name.

You probably know how to google if you know how to use reddit, right?

u/StirFry__InaWok 19h ago
Yeah I can guess that the title is referencing the first Yamal that shows up when one googles the name but that wasn't really the question was it?
"Am I supposed to know who Yamal is?" is questioning why the poster believes this person is such a household name that no further elaboration beyond what is either his first or last name is necessary.
-1
u/ZnarfGnirpslla 18h ago
Well he is the most famous rising star in the most popular sport on earth. The majority of people will therefore know who he is. Pretty much the definition of a "household name".
It is okay if you personally don't, but I just don't see the point in making such a big deal about it. Especially since knowing him has literally no impact on the funniness of the clip.
It just feels like all the people who post "who is Yamal??" in this thread know exactly who he is (probably because of the World Cup for example) but wanna act all high and mighty for some reason.

It's obviously not a household name among reddit users, a demographic that is still >50% American and is largely comprised of people that don't watch or care about "sportsball". (please note that I did not include myself in this description of redditors and that "sportsball" is put in quotes because it is obviously a stupid term, I only put it there to further illustrate the attitude of many redditors towards sports in general)
And idk about you but responding with a snarky "did you know google exists" type comment is what I would consider making a bigger deal out of the comment than is necessary.
Especially since knowing him has literally no impact on the funniness of the clip.
If I don't know who this person is then how would I know whether or not knowledge of the person mentioned in the title affects the video clip?
I initially figured it was a golfer or some public figure that was at least related to golf which could change the humor in some way. Like if it was Tiger Woods's little brother or nephew attempting to golf like that, the irony could make it a bit funnier or more interesting.
Edit to clear things up for dummies.

Ah you're a "sportsball" hater, that checks out too I guess. Do you comment on every post you come across on Reddit which you don't fully understand? That's gonna get awfully tiring. I am gonna venture a guess that you only do it when you want to make a point of being edgy for not knowing something globally popular.
Miserable way to spend time, but you do you!

u/StirFry__InaWok 17h ago
No I am not a "sportsball" hater, I don't really care for soccer in particular but I respect the sport quite a lot. I was just telling you how it is on reddit, a large percentage of users do not care for sports in general or actively dislike them so it's not hard to understand why a rising star in soccer wouldn't be a household name here.
I thought by not including myself in the description of those redditors and putting "sportsball" in quotes you should have been able to tell that I do not consider myself one of them but whatever.
It doesn't matter whether or not I'm a hater anyway. It wouldn't change any of what I said so idk why you think that your misinterpretation of that one sentence is sufficient justification to ignore all the other points I made in favor of a lazy ad hominem.

Yeah and if you do not understand a reference just move along. It's that simple.
3
u/StirFry__InaWok 16h ago
Why is asking the people that know the answer not a reasonable course of action to you? Isn't that a perfectly normal response when one sees or hears a reference they don't understand?
And by the way, when you see a question that you don't want to answer, why is it ok for you to respond like a snarky asshole instead of just moving along? Just don't answer the questions that you don't want to answer, it's that simple.

How about a bit of instruction, help the lil guy out.
Turning him into a joke is the problem in the US today, nobody care’s about anything.

Dumb little bro. Still could roll over. Obviously the size of the butt eclipse the size of his brain.
