That's a private alley that runs in the rear of townhouses. The sidewalk and public road would be on the front of the units. I really like that set-up. Makes the front look like brownstones and keeps all the bins and junk out of sight.

I was in California when one of the wildfires got close to town. You could see the flames over the hill at the end of town and ashes where raining down everywhere. Got to see one of those big planes drop fire retardant across the hill too. It was crazy
