Im at a computer lab in a library, applying for jobs since im homeless. I have my resume ready and updated and I'm just looking for opportunities. I left to go to the bathroom. I come back and my charger is gone as well as my earbuds. The phone is still here, oddly enough.

My mental health is so fucked that I honestly see this as a sign. I dont care enough to look for it back anymore, I'm just over it. Once my phone dies, that's it.

And that's okay. Not everyone in life is meant to be successful :)

As if I didn't have ENOUGH to deal with! First the extremely hot weather that NEARLY HIT 100° F YESTERDAY, then the infected food spreading across the US, and now THIS!! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?!

(Yes, I know climate change is the huge culprit, but what started these particular incidents?)

No one can breathe like this, so we all have to shut every window and bake in the summer heat that we aren't even supposed to have. But the fact I'm asthmatic makes this all so much worse... Ugh.

My brother sent me a picture 2 weeks ago of my nephew buckled in with just the lap strap, shoulder strap behind him. I asked why he isn't in a car seat, he has 2 5-point car seats I've given him as well as a high back booster, which is appropriate for his weight and height. He rides in a high back booster in my vehicle.

My brother said he got the car seat dirty, I think he threw up in it, and he said it was wet from cleaning it.

I offer a tiny bit of grace, but I know he has 3 appropriate seats, so no excuses!

I said goodbye to my nephew yesterday who was buckled in the truck to leave, and there was no car seat still. I told them it's not safe and it's illegal. We were literally eating dinner talking about a family of 5 who were in a recent car accident, the other driver died and the family of 5 all lived and just got home from the hospital after like 5 weeks. 3 of them are in wheel chairs. I'm not sure how we can go from a conversation like that to strapping your 4 year old into the truck that way and thinking it's safe and good.

Ordered the package July 3rd, got one box after about 3 days, then Amazon updates the delivery to July 8th-10th, no big deal, just couldn't really use the tracking number to figure out where exactly it was. It's now the 16th, Amazon updated it to "Delivery date unknown". Called Saia, the carrier, no package whatsoever in the system. No order number, tracking number, address, nothing to verify I had a package. Messaged the storefront on Amazon and this is what I received. Not a call, not a text, NOTHING to tell me that my package was canceled or why. Almost decided to wait a few weeks since I already got one package and I know heavy freight can sometimes take linger to get. I'm just trying to get jacked, Amazon...

Over the past several years, OCD has become increasingly glorified and misunderstood online, especially with how people use the term "intrusive thoughts." I was diagnosed with OCD in 2019, and looking back, I probably should have been diagnosed much earlier. Part of the reason is that society tends to portray OCD as just being neat, wanting picture frames perfectly straight, or flipping a light switch a certain number of times.

That's only one possible presentation. Many people with OCD , myself included, deal with intrusive thoughts that are genuinely distressing , extremely debilitating, and completely opposite to their values. They're unwanted by definition, not funny or quirky or slightly weird.

The "intrusive thoughts" trend on social media is mildly infuriating because most of the examples are actually impulsive thoughts, not intrusive ones. While some of the videos and posts are funny, they also reinforce a misunderstanding of what intrusive thoughts actually are, making it harder for people with OCD to feel understood or even recognize their own symptoms.

So I have a date tonight and was planning on going to my barber first thing in the morning to get a fresh cut. I arrive at the barber's and he's not there. Basically my barber shares a spot with 2 other barbers and those barbers only take appointments when mine didn't. So I ended up searching for the nearest barber near me, and when I arrive there the place is closed. However online it clearly said it was open. I then search for the next barber and drive there. I arrive and see someone standing at the door. The place says it's been open for 2 hours but it's clearly closed. I ask the guy at the door if he works there and he says he's also waiting. He calls the barber and says he'll be there in a few minutes. The barber arrives with his friends and takes them before me despite me arriving first. This place does not take appointments by the way. I decide to wait, but the guy takes 20 minutes just to set up, and then he spends over an hour cutting this guy's hair. There were also 2 people ahead of me after that. What the hell! The guy literally did a 0 on the sides and took like 40 minutes just to shave his head. At this point it's been over an hour of waiting so I book an appointment at another barber online who was expensive but at least I got a spot. I arrive at this other barber and wait an hour despite having an appointment. He cuts way too much off the top despite me saying I wanted just a little off. I still gave him a tip even with the price being so high and he didn't even appreciate it.

A lot of the time (even though I was kind of deserved) people do criticize the website about selling the exclusive models but at the end of the day it is a love-hate relationship where if people get it they're happy if people don't get it they're not happy that type of thing

Back to the point Premium Bandai I did this thing where the community gets to vote for basically the top five most popular exclusives and out of everything people chose retools and recolors

On the first image first and fourth place are literally the same thing but different exclusive parts and colors then 5th place is the newest retool that came out and that would regardless got in a reprint in a couple months

Like I think 3 out of the 20 are genuine exclusive models that aren't reprints or recolors

It's really disappointing seeing how a lot of the actual exclusive designs were probably never see the light of day and this is probably one of the rare occasions where they actually get a chance but they never will. Personal favorites being HG Reben-Wolf, MG Gundam TR-1 Hazel Owsla, HG Phantom/Ghost Gundam, MG Testament Gundam like literally any of these would have been better options than some of the models that made it onto a list

to make a very very long story short, i (22F) applied for a US passport in April of this year. i’m supposed to be leaving for greece tomorrow (7/15!!). putting my application in april should have given me enough time, (especially considering my sister applied at the same time and got hers 2 weeks later)

the agency originally asked for more paperwork because of a child’s passport book i had issued to me years ago. i couldn’t find it, so i submitted a ds-64 lost passport form. since then, ive been calling weekly for updates, since the website still said “information needed”

fast forward to the week before my trip, still no passport, and by now i’ve been told by multiple agents over the hotline that i just need to be patient and wait. i paid expedited over the phone to help push it along, and i talked to multiple people about reviewing my case or booking an emergency appointment. they told me i didn’t meet the appointment criteria and to wait.

so i wait. and i call. and i wait. and i call. everytime, im being told that i need to wait, and that it’s probably on the way. eventually, i demand that i get an appointment, this is 6 days before my trip, the agent says that there are appointments, but to wait one more day. i call the next day, and the agent says that they have no availability. cool cool, i kept calling everyday until last night when they transferred me to an appointment specialist. he got me an appointment, told me what to bring, and that was that.

come to the appointment this morning, and after all that calling for clarification, asking for early appointments so i could get this solved, and checking the website to see if it has changed from “not available”, they told me the problem was with my birth certificate. i was born at home, and my dad is listed as the birth attendant, which is not acceptable apparently. why was i not informed of this when i called MULTIPLE times the months before? why have i been able to issue past passports with the same birth certificate? why was my sister, who was also born at home with my dad listed at birth attendant, able to get her passport so easily?

i have no secondary paperwork to use to prove my birth, and everything me and my parents did find, they wouldn’t accept.

EDIT: you guys, anxiety and frustration really had me giving up but we are not over yet!!
my parents and sisters and i put our heads together and the combined effort and knowledge gave us a plan.
post scouring of my dads office records and the attic + storage space, we believe we have found several forms of evidence to support my birth certificate. they gave me a pink slip to be able to return without an appointment. i am going back into the office as soon as they open (7:30 am) in sf, and will present what i have.
we contacted the travel agent again, and she said if they accept my documents before 10:30 am, i can switch my flight with no charge. i’m going to plan on a 9 pm flight on thursday, so if the passport isn’t available until thursday, that gives me room.

i do have wiggle room, because the first few days will be spent in athens, and then we would be boarding a cruise in athens on sunday, so the latest i really can leave is friday. lowkey screw athens if i can get on that boat!

FINAL UPDATE: i’m sitting in a coffee shop across the street from the agency writing this as they PRINT OUT MY PASSPORT 🎉🥳. because i found an original copy of a letter written by the midwife dated a few days after my birth, and records of me in the hospital right after birth, (and also getting in right at 7:30) they were able to complete the application print it out for me by 12. my flight was 2:40, and because that’s REALLY cutting it close, the travel agent changed it to a flight tomorrow. i’m feeling so relieved that i at least get to make it to several days in athens, and the cruise. thank you all for your words of encouragement and ideas. it was truly grounding to be able to type out my frustration and have people agree. next passport application is being filled out at the agency lol. happy euro summer everyone!

I have been homeless for almost ten months at this point. I've been trying to get out of it because nothing has helped me. I got a referral to a behavioral health facility a few days ago, but everytime I call no one is there to help me.

Basically heres how it would go down: I would call what I assume is the front desk of the facility. I would then tell them, "hey I'm Robert, I got a referral from [organization] to receive mental health services at [facility name], and I would like to set up an appointment".

The person would ask if I have insurance, which i don't, but that's one of the reasons why I qualify because to be a patient you either have to be uninsured or be insured to a particular insurer. Then I would be put on hold, then transferred to speak to an operator, only to be told seconds later by the automated system that there are no operators available and to leave a message. I've left like at least a dozen messages. Nothing.

I need this bc I can get my mental health evaluated, get diagnoses, start treatment, get case management for help with housing, enter a vocational rehabilitation program, and more. But its like they dont even want to help me. It's beyond frustrating.

Fedex, today. Toyota finance department. COX mobile service department. HOA. Tax department for my state. All of these are companies I have called TODAY (trying to knock out multiple errands at once) that have all resulted in either:

1.) A loop of fuckass AI bots who have straight up told me that I wasn’t able to reach a human as an option (fuck you, fedex)
2.) have been told by a human they don’t really know and have transferred ME FOUR FUCKING TIMES TO WHERE I JUST THANKED THE PERSON AND HUNG UP AFTER 47 MIN (COX) BECAUSE THEY DONT PASS WORD/COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER
3.) endless hold times
3a.) AI that tells me to hold, TRANSFERS me to a real person, but that person is unavailable and to leave a voice mail…
4.) other bullshit
5.) HOA pulls a no show for a second time to repair a damaged and flooding automated dumbass sprocket and says to call again tomorrow.

On top of this, I am starving, on low sleep, and of course, all of this has to happen with these parameters. My question:

Why do people get paid more than me to do much less than me for much less time in their office and still fucking suck? Why is everything now a days run by AI and bots? Why does customer service not even work anymore? when did customer service become less reliable?

So I moved into a recently built apartment complex that is developed by a small local builder here, and during the whole touring and application process, the landlord never even mentioned or brought up the fact that there is still active construction going on. Nobody could tell because all the exterior work for the units are done but the interior has not.
And furthermore, I was also not aware that the garage right next to my unit is where they have put all these contractors/interior workers to work in, so my unit is right next to their actual worksite which is this garage. I’ve been living here since the end of last year and have been dealing with constant noises, especially coming from these worker’s obnoxious cars! And they’re not even actual construction vehicles since they’re not actual “construction workers” but rather a bunch of contract interior workers for the apartments, so it’s rather these worker’s personal vehicles that has been a huge nuisance. Whether it’s loud modified exhaust, muffler delete, or car subwoofers with bass so loud it shakes the walls, you name it! They have it all! And they move around a lot, probably to drive back and forth between the garage and the uncompleted units, so the vehicle noise can be frequent and all day long. And they’ve occasionally arrived as early as 6AM and stayed as late as 8pm. (They usually get here around 7AM, which is what the actual legal hours are in my city)
On top of these already obnoxious vehicles, some of them likes to make it worse by sitting there and idling for no reason, or revving the engines, speeding through the units or the opposite - driving at snail speed which makes you even more annoyed at the forever lasting exhaust sound.
They also used to blast radio stations or music when they’re working in the garage but after some complaints to the landlord that seemed to have gotten better. The golf carts the workers sometimes drive to transport some of the materials has also been randomly equipped with the annoying beeping sound when backing up, I’ve never seen these make those sounds when backing up, but like I said, they have all the noises here! And this is not even everything but the more irritating ones.
One of my BIGGEST pet peeves is vehicle noises whether it’s the exhaust or the subwoofer, and now I’m experiencing it on a daily basis. The most infuriating part is how the landlord didn’t even have the basic courtesy or decency to inform future tenants, whom will be affected by this everyday.
Overall I am very satisfied with the apartments but it’s hard to remain calm when your pet peeve is being triggered everyday, and multiple times a day. My lease is up in 4 months but unfortunately quality apartments has been hard to find in this small city, and since I relocated here due to my job, I don’t think I’ll be moving out. And I heard there’s more units to be built so these workers aren’t going anywhere soon either. I felt like like the landlord should’ve offered all tenants a slight rent reduction due to not informing anyone of the ongoing construction and the unprofessional workers here but that isn’t going to happen. And This legit is extremely infuriating… I am also welcome to suggestion tho!

*Just as I was submitting this thread while sitting in my car in front of my unit about to head out, one of the trucks with the extremely loud exhaust drove by right behind me and literally made me jump a bit. This is really unacceptable having to deal with noises coming from NOT the tenants but rather the workers/contractors!

Yesterday, I did some shopping and walked past a car parked in the parent and child parking space, which was there in the semi-empty car park before I arrived like 30 minutes prior.

Obviously didn’t think anything of it but glanced in the window walking past as it was a lovely sparkling new Range, to spot a baby strapped to a car seat with its face partially covered with a blanket.

It’s a heatwave in the UK and it was midday, so a good 31 degs. Panic ensues as I’m certain the baby must be slow cooking. No sign of the parent, so I call the police and they show up pretty much immediately.

Window is smashed and baby is retrieved… except it’s a Reborn doll, trussed up in a Mamas and Papas car seat wrapped in a blanket. Car is complete with a baby on board sign and window shades. Oof!

Mildly infuriating for me (but relieved), I’m sure extremely for the poor copper and definitely for the driver who is now windowless.

UPDATE: The dispute was successfully resolved, and I've been refunded what was stolen. That said, I can't believe there are people that manage to crack cards without even needing any intervention. It's disgusting how bad this problem has gotten, and it makes me wonder why we don't have more secure payment methods... Original post is below.

I really do mean every possible precaution. I've only entered my details on websites that I trust. I've even checked for skimmers on ATMs. But it wasn't enough... I got a fraudulent charge from "Gameplanet" about an hour ago now and had to cancel the card.

How could I be so irresponsible? HOW?! WHY?! I'm so ashamed of myself... And worse yet, my credit union charges $10 for a new card. The fraudulent charge put me into the negatives; I "literally" cannot afford a new card.

It's also worth mentioning that I don't store my card information on any website. I have no idea where this leak could've possibly come from. But it clearly came from somewhere...

UPDATE: it WAS our own maintenance that came in. Today they brought two guys to problem solve the issue first thing this morning. Then they brought in the two other guys that did the repairs. ITS FIXED ! We still took the issue to the main office and had an email sent to head manager along with the list of items that went missing from our fridge/were left out to spoil.

Our fridge in our apartment stopped working July 2nd. After doing some adjustments and the fridge still didn’t work, I put in a work order to have the fried he checked out by maintenance on July 5th. It took maintenance 4 days (two work orders online and one phone call) to even come and check it out. When they finally came, they told my fiancé (who was home at the time ) they’d reset the timer (don’t know what that means) and come back the following Friday (a week from that same day ) to replace the fridge if it still wasn’t working correctly.

Yesterday (Monday. Not Friday- keep that in mind) fiancé gets a notification on his phone from our indoor camera that someone’s in the apartment. My fiancé checks his phone and sees that there are guys with a fridge in the house. He’s like , “sweet — new fridge.” I get home 7 hours later from a 12 hour shift at work plus two hours in construction traffic and immediately notice stuff is moved around in the house. I ask fiancé what happened and he mentions the guys with the fridge. So I got to put away my leftover food from work into the fridge instead of straight into the freezer (since we were basically out a fridge for the week, everything was going into the freezer except for certain foods). I immediately noticed there’s a tube of some sort running from behind the fridge and onto the cabinet…. Dripping with water. Oh and that cabinet… right over our stove and right next to the microwave. So yeah this could have ended up much worse if I hadn’t seen it at 12:30in the (Tuesday) morning.

Naturally I freaked the fick out. Called my fiancé from our home office , started recording and taking pics, and got on the phone with emergency maintenance. The poor lady who picked up…. Patience of a saint that one. I’m not normally one to curse at customer service on the phone , but the damn catheter was spraying water out of my hands while I tried to find- one of the many- misplaced items in my kitchen.

During the rush to find a suitable water container, my fiancé steps on a nail/ screw left behind by the guys who brought the fridge. So now there’s screaming, bleeding, and the poor lady on the phone who has now decided to put me on mute on her end while I continued cursing.

Needless to say I had the complaint well documented with the lady on the phone , and had them send the info to the leasing office.

A few things to add:

1. In the complex I live in, residence are to use the online portal to create tickets for repairs done and the apartments. The repairs are free to tenant as long as it was not tenant error that cost the issue.
2. EVERY TIME my fiancé or I requests maintenance, we always put in our notes that they are to call one or both of us and to announce themselves before entering the apartment. That is whether or not we are home. They did neither in this case and they were also outside of their scheduled maintenance window.
3. We have documented complaints of our maintenance team leaving a mess every time they do a job and this is the first time one has resulted in injury. But it’s not the first time for this kind of carelessness.
4. I noticed a couple of items missing from our refrigerator that should not have been removed (I.e they were trashed). And one item was left out and it’s spoiled. For some reason one of them went through my lunchbox and put one of my spices in the refrigerator.
5. ETA this was likely an outside contractor as our property sometimes does that depending on the job. Still doesn’t negate the absolute horrible experience we’ve had up until just before this incident.

I have a connective tissue disorder which affects my skin among other things. I have very very dry skin and it also doesn't renew correctly. Most people are constantly shedding and growing new skin. Mine apparently doesn't shed properly so it just builds up until it peels off, but this generally only affects my fingertips and around my cuticles so basically the most sensitive and nerve-rich area of skin on the body.

This means that the sensitivity in my fingertips dulls as the skin thickens, but slow enough that I don't notice it. But then once the skin peels or sheds, that area of fresh skin is like ten times more sensitive. So I constantly have varying patches of sensitivity on my fingertips which means I am constantly aware of ambient sensations. Slight breeze? Only patches on my fingers feel it so it's instantly noticeable. Folding laundry? Every time I touch something, it feels like different textures all at the same time.

This is so infuriatingly distracting that some days it's all I can focus on and it makes me pick at the calloused skin because it gets so annoying. I've seen a dermatologist. I have an incredibly specific routine I do daily to try to keep my skin fairly even, but it goes through phases of severity. The past few days have been bad and I'm going crazy. I've taken to wearing soft cotton gloves to do things, which is a sight relief but I don't want to do that forever 😩
