And to think Ariel actually has a daughter in the direct-to-video sequel. Which actually makes her the only one of all the Disney princesses to officially have confirmed to have gotten lucky.

Actually, most of them have kids due to the existence of Descendants, 2 weird live action movies involving said kids (and the kids of the villians. Including Maleficent, somehow....).
Edit: How the fuck???? Theres 5 of the crappy movies.

Bro. Little girls love those. I have reluctantly seen them many, many times. Many times. So so many times. They’re not awful. Or it’s Stockholm syndrome.
•

Its probably Stockholm Sydrome. Being able to recite Hannah Montana episodes line for line, though a usefull skill for creeping my sisters out in revenge, is not one i willingly chose to learn.

I dunno those first three movies are kinda fun! My kid was obsessed for a bit. I liked the songs and outfits. Especially the evil princess in 3!

4 live action movies and at least two TV series (one animated, one live action prequel) and one live action short that's set between movies 3 and 4.

5th live action Descendants movie dropped yesterday! My kids are psyched

So there's the 3 original Descendants movies with Dove Cameron, Sophia Carson, Cameron Boyce (😢), and Booboo Stewart among others. In those movies, some of the Disney Characters are actually grandparents like Sleeping Beauty. Directed by the guy who did High School Musical. Canonically, Hades and Maleficent got intimate with eachother.
The reboot centers around Wonderland Characters, but I have not seen them since I refuse to pay for Disney Plus so I don't know where in the timeline it is.
There's also books. Lots of books.
This is all not to be confused with Ever After High which was Matell and involved the kids of storybook and fairytale Characters in itself and was sadly canceled.

I about died laughing when I first heard that line! Especially for how psychotically nitpicking the censors were back then!

She asked to see my comic this week so I had to explain pegging to a 76 year old lady, which was super fun. Tune in next week for "One-Way Trip"!
You are a very brave person and that is a hilarious birthday for your mom. Happy birthday mom!

Out of the three, Ariel is the only one to actually have a kid, as far as I know.

I love how Belle is telling Ariel this while Adam is telling Eric. Two book nerd friends unfortunately having to break the news…

I think adam is just comforting eric’s pain of having his wife constantly peg him
•
u/mayiwonder 53m ago
what pain?
•
u/kaithespinner 39m ago
maybe he has hemorrhoids

I know its a common joke and mermaids are called half human half fish, but Ariels tail goes up and down like a marine mamal not side to side like most fish. She should be reproducing like mamals.
•
u/Obant 43m ago
Fish also don't have ovipositors, that would be insects.
•
u/flatscancomics 24m ago
There's some kind of parasitic bitterling that has one I checked!
•
u/Obant 17m ago
Well I stand corrected! Off to learn about a new fish.
•
u/flatscancomics 6m ago
I swear I only know that for this comic I dont read about animal reproduction in my spare time work isn't spare time
•
u/Cloverose2 17m ago
Yeah, there's no fish that reproduces like this, and Ariel would be a mammal anyway.

No problem. The sea witch has a solution for this.
Oh ... She's dead. But Triton can also do shape shifter magic. So no big deal. I'm sure he wants to be a grandpa.
•
u/Ulftar 59m ago
Why couldn't she be the other kind of mermaid, with the human parts on the bottom and the fish parts on top!?
•
•
u/cplthrawn 49m ago
Eric didn't correct her the implied multiple times. I don't think he's too broken up about it.

At least Belle has experience figuring out biological differences. Paired with her book smarts, she's probably the best princess to help Arial with her issue.

u/Few_Pea8503 59m ago
An Ovipositor and a Cloaca are two totally different reproductive systems - Ariel's logic train here doesn't even meet the track...
And BESIDES Ariel would almost certainly be the one with the Cloaca, not the human! Only a small amount of fish have an ovipositor and mermaids are almost certainly amphibian-adjacent.
•
u/HumanPersonNotRobot 50m ago
Her tail goes up and down like marine mamals. I would assume she reproduces like a mamals. But that doesn't make a "funny" joke.
•
u/AdditionalQuietime 37m ago
LMFAO THIS IS HILARIOUS 😂 THE FIRST PANEL BEING A VERY PREGNANT RAPUNZEL HAS ME WEAK!!!! ARIEL HAND OVER HER MOUTH WHEN SHE REALIZES WHAT THEYVE BEEN DOING 😭😭

I made the mistake of googling ovipositor and of course the second hit on Google is sex toys.

So mermaids have seahorse anatomy... the wonders of SCIENCE!
