Is this supposed to be about Palworld?

Eh, it's going to be my in-universe catch-all parody for that sorta Shonen series, yeah.

Reminds me of the Ood in Doctor Who— a “slave race” who only serve people because they’re effectively lobotomized (one of their two brains is removed) before being sold. It’s acknowledged eventually when that’s revealed, of course, but for ages they’re just a slave race

Yeesh, I've never dipped my toe into Dr Who. I'm an obsessive for watching things in chronological order; and the original 1950's(?) run caught me at a bad time. I adore how deep and long-running the lore is. Damn. Really need to just dive in.

Eccleston gets a lot of slack, but I recommend starting with his season (before Tennant) since you might really enjoy it and it sets up Rose.

I thought he did a fantastic job. And yeah, his season is a little rougher - it was the first of the revival, and they were figuring out the tone they wanted for the Doctor going into the 21st century.

I’d suggest starting with 10 (David Tennant) or 11 (Matt Smith), they’re almost universally agreed to be the best ones. Personally I’d recommend 11, but that’s partially bc he was the first one I watched and I loved him lol. Afaik hardcore fans are pretty much the only ones who go back to the first Doctors, I’ve heard they’re a bit of a pain to watch since they were written in the 60s and act like it. You can definitely watch it chronologically if you’d like, though. You’re welcome to try to keep track of the (Doctor’s) timeline, too, but especially if you start with 11, that’s gonna be easier said than done lmao

Edit: forgot to mention the spinoffs, books, and comics. I haven’t read/watched any myself so I can’t speak to how much they add, but I know there’s a bunch particularly for 11 and the old Doctors (7 and before I believe?)
