My mum was telling me about a colleague who always has guys asking her out. "To be fair, she is a bit of a milf"
"Mum, what do you think MILF stands for?"
"It doesn't stand for anything, right? It just means an attractive lady"
I couldn't tell her.

This reminds me of that viral Reddit thread that blew up a couple years back with the teacher that tried really hard but came on Reddit because they though her students didn't like her and was wondering why they kept calling her a goat.

The social worker I share an office with was responding to an email and she came to me all sad. I asked what was wrong and she said “this person keeps calling me an OG and I don’t know what it means!”
This lady is the peachiest of peaches. Wouldn’t hurt a fly (literally. She’s constantly saving bugs in the office). I looked her dead in the eye and said “You ARE an original gangster.” She looked confused for a second, then laughed, then all proudly under her breath said “… I AM the original gangster…”

My headcanon is that Lucifer from the Netflix series created this acronym to get back at Amenadiel.

It is strange that LL Cool J made something go this mainstream well passed his prime.
I mean, I was the ONLY kid who bought the cd in high school, then a few years after college everyone is using GOAT like it's been in their lexicon for a generation.
Perhaps your theory holds water.

Aww, this is lovely. I'm glad she's doing well and you're supporting her, OP.

People who are out of the high-school slang loop, if someone says something that sounds odd to you, always just google it
For instance, I searched “Why are my coworkers calling me a goat” and this popped up from 2 years ago

For DECADES being a goat was akin be being called a failure, or bad outcome. You either picked the winner or the Goat.
It's hilarious that some people now use it for the opposite definition.
Like, not a modification or change, it legitimately is being used for a 180 degree difference.

I like many others have the opposite experience by working with older colleagues. One of my favorite moments with one of my colleauges a 45 year old mostly serious former ICU Nurse looks dead in the eye says 67 does the gesture, I break out into laughter because WTF. And she just walks by and says „So they were correct“

That makes these divides in the generational jargon a bit odd for me, because my mom was the one who introduced GOAT to me. She was talking about Roger Federer when I was like 12.
