Whoa this is incredible. Sooo much going on here and I want more of this story. I understand if it's a one-off, but damn, such good world building in a mere 20 panels.

same thought on what superspeed and timestopping will cause within actual physics.
what if I got speed that can at least reach mach1, instantaneous too like how Flash casually runs without much acceleration. then I dash for about a meter, will I create sonicboom? or at least make a shockwave due to 'sudden appearance' in that space?
for timestopping, will I create a tunnel of outerspace-like emptiness whenever I move? like upon resuming normal timespeed, cavitation could happen because that sudden empty space will be occupied by microscopic matter in air.

I don't understand why the other kid tells him that he should stop. Did her understand something bad? Or is he just jealous that he'll never be able to experience the same thing?

There's a resentment in his expression, which matches his previous tone on the subject. He's proposing doing all of these experiments just to know what the power can and can't do, and then finds out that he's not able to tag along to take part in any of it. If he can't have it, then it's no good for him.

OH! Thank you! I was confused too because I thought the kid was being responsible. I mean, I would have some of those thoughts too with my new powers. So I interpreted it as non-powerful kid being upset because the other kid wouldn't take risks; but it's because he can't tag along. That makes a lot more sense! Good thing I don't have superpowers.

It's a bit of both. "Kid B" is trying to encourage "Kid A" who can teleport to be less cagey about it and actually use his power, because it's a really cool power that B wants to have. As A is starting to give up on trying to do anything with it, B wants to at least take that opportunity to see if he can have it for at least a little bit. B's resentment comes from a belief that A is wasting the power he was given, a power that B's mind is no doubt already drowning in uses for, and that he was told no in a very concrete fashion.

I see it as, blonde kid has spent the last few days watching his friend teleport in place. He thinks his friend is squandering his gift, and not even trying to get out of his comfort zone.
So, blonde kid suggests an experiment that would put himself at risk. Kid with the powers is shocked that nothing bad happened. Which means that, for an entire week, he did nothing with his powers but jump in place. Because he was too scared to do anything else. Powers kid is worried about the earth's rotation messing up his teleportation, while he hasn't even tried to teleport a meter away. For an entire week.
Besides being salty about not being able to participate, blonde resents powers kid because he was granted a power that he is doing absolute fuck-all with. And if he is going to continue being a coward, and not even try anything new, he might as well stop.

I'm with you, there's some pettiness and jealousy for sure, but people are reading the worst into it. I see it more like listening to someone with a million dollars in their checking account making 1% interest who's too scared to invest a single penny, but also still feels the need to check its still there every day. It hits a point where you stop wanting to hear them talk about it.
Also as a scifi nerd, I can think of plenty of ways to safely test it and they're just not being creative enough. 😆

They wanted to use their power for some goal. But because they were unable to essentially use him as a tool, they saw him as worthless. Hence why they encouraged him to stop at the end.
Course, this is all how I interpreted it. And unfortunately it appears that this story is a one-shot. So unless the creator decides to explain things, we'll just have to theorize the intentions behind these characters.

The kids with powers is so incredibly sensible.

Yeah, having superpowers with Marvel universe rules is way different than with The Boys rules. Testing things carefully is definitely the right move.

If there’s any truth behind vampire mythology, I can imagine it going something like this.

Can vampires teleport?
•
u/AFCartoonist 35m ago
I should state that I've never seen anything in my life to make me believe vampires exist. But there are a lot of strange things in this world, and I could see someone figuring out some secret like extended age, but not being able to articulate it to their friends, then being smeared for it. "Oh, you look so much younger than 65. It can't just be a clean lifestyle; there must be some magic! Oh, you won't tell me your secrets? Fine, I'll tell people you drink blood." Something like that. Also, Christians have a tendency to label something "damned" if it doesn't fit their square hole, so...

Riiiiiiight. So where does that leave us on the whole "can vampires teleport" thing?

The bit about the Earth moving is interesting, I always think that with Time Travel - time travel is often depicted as taking you to the exact same spot at a different time but it’s always bounded by the same spot on Earth, not the same spot within space. Though with the way space works I suppose you could argue that the same spot doesn’t even exist without a frame of reference

This is really poignant & interesting. I wish to see more. I resonate with the jumping kid; that stuff is scary!

kid should have played city of heroes: you teleport up in the air then horizontally to where you can see it's clear, then back to a bit above the ground.
doesn't answer the question about what happens to the air but it's obviously fine to do so.

Have you posted this before? I'm getting major deja vu, I feel like I've read this! It might have been the very first thing of yours that I saw. Anyway I love it
