Science Saru just adapted Ghost in the Shell.
They used zero AI on it.
The story is about man versus machine.
So they chose to make the whole thing by hand.

Their pipeline was three times denser than a normal anime.
Twice the design work.
48 outfits on one character.
Even the fake street signs were drawn by hand.
None of that was the cheap or easy way.

The producer summed it up well.
The appeal is the feeling that a person drew it.
The business lesson here is simple.

Hand-made work is now worth more, not less.
AI is filling the market with cheap output.
That makes real human craft rare.
And rare things sell for a premium.

Science Saru isn't scared of the technology.
They turned the human hand into the selling point.
The room applauded because the audience agreed.

People will pay for work they know a person made.

Question My animations might take too long to finish if I fully render the characters. Do you guys think it looks fine without the rendering? Or is the rendering worth the time investment? (2nd gif is the unrendered version)🔵

With the rendering, this animation took about 1/4 extra time to finish, which would've been a lot longer if there were camara movements (like i plan for my show) and I wanted a second opinion on if that was worth it. I love the way it looks ofc, I also love actually finishing cool things in a timely manner lol

Beginner First time actually animating something other than blinking and I’m scared to add colors

As I said, definitely a beginner still, but I feel like I’m doing pretty well so far! Im shocked how long two seconds of animation has taken me (about a week as I work a job as well) and now im scared coloring it in like I wanted to will ruin the work I did. Im using procreate dreams and would appreciate any advice, through I have been doing research on YouTube. The program is very new to me and still very confusing so this was done with two tracks (eyes and everything else). Thank you!

Question I've noticed in cartoons that whenever they drink from a can or bottle. I mostly see them being drunk like this. Is there a reason for this or am I just looking too far ahead of things?

Question How to make this animation feel like one continuous movement

Upvotes

Character belongs to: Capitaine_Sweet on artfight

I am using toonsquid and am trying to make a floating loop animation, but no matter what I do it doesn't look right. I have three keyframes, two of the same on either end and one in the middle of the characters highest point. The easing goes as such: Quadratic ease in, linear, quadratic ease out. I have tried multiple different combinations.

The animation does not feel like one continuous motion, and I am not sure how to fix it, any help would be greatly appreciated!

(also sorry for the one glitched out frame, I am not sure why it is doing that)
