Hi, I probably need to travel from Aachen/Herzogenrath to Dusseldorf or Koln a few times in October/November. I live in the Parkstad region, so for me both trains are fine, though I think distance wise the RE4 would be shorter since I could get in in Herzogenrath instead of Aachen, though I don't think it saves that much time in the end. I noticed both trains take about an hour to get there, so it becomes a question about reliability. I have seen some posts here talking about how the RE1 is really unreliable and gets canceled often, and I am wondering if it is the same with the RE4, or if that train is more reliable.

I have only taken each of these trains on one journey, and I found that the RE4 was delayed by more then an hour (probably one was cancelled tbh), whereas the RE1 was only late by 5 minutes and they changed the platform at the last moment, which was kind of stressful. But even so, I would say the better experience was with the RE1. Though I will say, both of the journeys were taken in the afternoon (around 14:00) on a weekday, whereas this time it seems I would be traveling (in the morning) in the weekend. I am not sure if this is the right subreddit to ask, but I hope it is. Thanks in advance for any replies!

Mir fällt voll oft auf, dass viele für den Urlaub direkt nach Spanien, Italien oder sonst wohin fliegen, dabei werden so viele extrem tolle Städte und Ecken komplett übersehen, die hier in der unmittelbaren Nähe liegen! Genau deshalb suche ich Leute, die offen für Städtetrips in der Region (und darüber hinaus) sind. Kurz zu mir: Ich bin 24 Jahre alt, habe ein Auto und bin super mobil. Bevor wir losdüsen, ist mir der Vibe untereinander aber extrem wichtig. Ich fände es cool, wenn man sich vorher erst mal ganz entspannt auf einen Kaffee trifft, um zu schauen, ob die Chemie und die Stimmung passen. Zu meinen Zeiten: Unter „rausgehen“ verstehe ich übrigens nicht das klassische Feiern oder Clubbing, sondern wirklich aktiv zu sein, die Umgebung zu erkunden und Neues zu entdecken. Wenn du auch Bock hast, die coolen Städte in der Nähe abzuchecken: Schreib mir super gerne eine Nachricht! 🙌

The apartment was exactly how it looks like in the pictures on the video call. The person also showed me the building itself. My concern is maybe it is from airbnb? With so many scams around you never know. Sadly, I do not know anyone in Aachen who could go for an in person appointment (even though this was an offered option for this property).

After the viewing, I received an expression of interest link that I filled and then this email (attached below):

My concern is:

1. The rush regarding filling the contract - I understand of course there are other applicants

2. Payment before key handover - is this the norm? from what I have seen on some previous posts on here, this is asked but according to German law it is not an obligation, hence I am a little skeptical

3. Despite the online viewing, I am concerned about a potential scam, it could very well be an airbnb. Eine Freundin und ich wollten mal in den Carolus Thermen zur Sauna, fühlen uns aber unwohl mit Männern in der selben Sauna mit uns. Ich hab öfter gehört, dass das grad in den Carolus Thermen eigentlich entspannt sein soll, aber für unseren ersten Saunagang wäre ein Frauen-only Bereich doch vorgezogen *sob
Ich hab online gefunden, dass es da ein Feminarium gibt. Weiß jemand wie genau das aufgebaut ist? Muss man trotzdem potentiell an Saunabereichen mit Männern vorbei laufen (wäre kein Problem, aber mentally drauf vorbereiten können wäre nice lol)? Und zahlt man da den selben Betrag wie für den allgemeinen Saunatarif?

habt ihr eine KFZ Werkstatt des geringsten Misstrauens oder sogar des Vertrauens in der Gegend? (Aachen und Kreis, Düren auch)

Es geht um einen 10 Jahre alten Hyundai i30, bei dem die Kupplung durch ist. Steht gerade in einer Werkstatt, mit der wir recht unzufrieden sind.

Wir haben bereits alle Beiträge hier der letzten Jahre zum Thema Werkstattsempfehlung abgegrast und durchtelefoniert. Keiner der genannten hat vor September Zeit für die Reparatur.

Darum wollte ich noch mal hören, falls zufällig wer noch Vorschläge hat.
