245

u/TroutFearMe 20h ago

Chef’s kiss for the lamppost.

488

u/YouKnown999 21h ago

Damn. At least it looks like the car can’t move from there

208

u/IamHydrogenMike 21h ago

Thank goodness the only victim was the light pole...

28

u/xiwiva8804 17h ago

Thank god, it wasn't a light Pole!

61

u/Shaneypants 20h ago

Now the guy can go back to sleep safely

19

u/Azilehteb 19h ago

Might actually be having a heart attack or something. Should probably call somebody

57

u/ComprehendReading 18h ago

Might be.

More likely is drug abuse, however.

14

u/Ok-Rock2345 11h ago

Or drunk.

u/Naganosupreme 0m ago

Likely dui

6

u/TheStLouisBluths 17h ago

As long as nobody knocks on the window.

6

u/spacemanspiff1115 15h ago

Finally, he can get some sleep...

369

u/RichRingoLangly 21h ago

I love the guy at the end just casually strolling down the street with a hammer in his hand.

61

u/SouldiesButGoodies84 21h ago

Pretty sure he grabbed that from his car to go and do check on collision dude who for all he knows is not gonna emerge from that accident in a good/sober mood.

https://giphy.com/gifs/3mhQzWjoh4QLOwnInj

67

u/randomcharacters3 20h ago

Or if the doors were locked and the guy was having an actual medical emergency.

12

u/SouldiesButGoodies84 20h ago

True, also possible.

14

u/ThePesticle 20h ago

"Self medication emergency"

23

u/mnid92 17h ago

Seizures, low blood sugar, heart conditions... Any number of reasons a person can pass out.

1

u/SqnZkpS 4h ago

You forgot the most fun reason - drugs!

2

u/mnid92 2h ago

And that's how I got hit with narcan when I was having a seizure and had my heart stop. Someone assuming I was on drugs.

1

u/SqnZkpS 1h ago

Sorry that happened to you.

5

u/TedBurns-3 20h ago

There was nothing in his swagger to suggest he was going anywhere near that car... He had his eyes on those bags in front of him!

-1

u/SouldiesButGoodies84 15h ago

In his swagger? Is this a serious comment? He was literally angling his body in the direction of the car. You even see his head briefly turn both ways seemingly looking for oncoming traffic b/c he was about to cross the street.

-6

u/Ornery-Customer8521 15h ago

Looks like a random POS up to no good to me

5

u/Drak_is_Right 16h ago

Medical emergency, it would be needed to break a window. Though ideally you leave that for paramedics.

Granted cops knocking on the window likely gets the same result.

Someone is getting arrested likely.

1

u/hereforthesportsball 19h ago

You’ll feel differently when you realize where he’s headed

0

u/Hephaestus_God 20h ago

Following closely behind a woman lol

59

u/PostingToPassTime 21h ago

LOL, can't decide if the guy with the hammer was thinking ahead about maybe needing to break the window out of that car, about to use it to mug the lady in front of him, or just heading to work with his favorite hammer.

16

u/ComprehendReading 18h ago

I take my favorite hammer to the park, and like this guy, we have to drive to get there.

3

u/pepeshadilay69 6h ago

Professional hammer walker?

158

u/arp492022 21h ago

This is why the cops block people in with their cars when they find someone sleeping.

47

u/elton_john_lennon 19h ago

US a land of the free, where you can't just take a nap for a second inside your own car. 🤷‍♂️

12

u/GfunkWarrior28 13h ago

If sleeping it off is your absolute only option, you must significantly minimize your risk:

Move to the backseat: Never sit in the driver's seat, as this shows intent and immediate control over the vehicle.

Stash the keys: Place your car keys in the trunk or outside the vehicle. Putting them in the ignition, cup holder, or your pocket invites a DUI charge.

Engine off: Ensure the car is completely turned off. Do not run the heater or air conditioning.

Legal parking: Make sure you are legally parked in a designated safe spot, not obstructing traffic.

26

u/KnifeKnut 18h ago

Or sleep it off in the car when you consumed too much alcohol to safely drive.

15

u/stackjr 17h ago

I kind of get the point but it still feels like punishing someone for making the right choice.

10

u/that_tall_nerd 15h ago

You can there’s actually a whole sequence of things they say to do that I’ve found work pretty well (Uni was fun lol) if you have a car with a separate trunk put your keys in there, parking break on, if you have any drink left that goes in the trunk, and sleep in the back seat. If your trunk is connected it’s the same deal but I’ve heard people sometimes put them in with the spare wheel but idk how plausible that is while you’re drunk enough to sleep it off in a car. I’ve had cops investigate while doing this sure but the keys in a different area and me being in the back seat normally get the point across. Only downfall is they do sometimes get picky with where you park though.

6

u/Jov_West 17h ago

I saw this happening the other day

2

u/Unicycleterrorist 19h ago

If the car isn't running or blocking traffic they should fuck off and let people sleep

11

u/Wind_Freak 13h ago

He’s clearly been drunk driving and not in a parking lot. He should not be allowed to sleep it off anywhere but a jail cell.

1

u/slept221 4h ago

The two options are let him sleep and everyone's safe or wake him up and risk him hitting someone when he drives off. Don't be so authoritarian that you would support innocent people dieing to enforce laws

25

u/MartyShark666 21h ago

You only woke up the body

21

u/PewPewPugilist 21h ago

It went from bad to worse 😂

11

u/M1ck3yB1u 21h ago

Going over the stop sign, that's not too bad - oh.

35

u/Significant-Base6893 20h ago

I don't think this guy was sleeping, he was in a drug-induced stupor. Even alcohol isn't going to screw you up this bad. The telltale sign (no pun intended) was after hitting the stop sign. Even drunk, that's enough to prevent you from round 2.

19

u/barto5 10h ago

hard disagree on the alcohol.

Alcohol IS a drug. And a very strong one at that.

7

u/victhebutcher2020 20h ago

Drugs are bad mmmkay

21

u/mcknight92 21h ago

That’s a Buick Regal baby just move the pole and that motherfucker gonna run for another couple hunnit miles

5

u/caboosetp 17h ago

Pretty sure it's a Buick LeSabre. Same engine though. I love this car because the power train is fuckin rock solid.

3

u/mcknight92 17h ago

You’re right! I had a ‘01 Century custom and goddamn I took that thing to hell and back never had an issue. One of the best things about that Century was the front bench seat haha gods I miss that car

3

u/Rumkitty 15h ago

I had a 93 Century. Thing was a tank. Drank gas like one too, but whoever my dad sold it to could still be driving it today no worries.

2

u/StrangeBeef 12h ago

'99 Century Custom checking in here. Loved that boat of a car.

27

u/Responsible-Note-404 21h ago

Looks like something you'd see in r/ANormalDayInRussia

32

u/Irelia4Life 20h ago

More like a normal day in america.

Because, it is actually america.

-3

u/Iinjectweed 16h ago

No it’s Canada, that bus is a go transit bus, regional transit in ontario

9

u/Classic_Tap8913 13h ago

Homie that is Baltimore MD, you can see the flag of Baltimore on the sign in the background at the beginning of the video. And the flag of MD is on the side of the bus bc it's a Maryland Transit Administration bus

6

u/pittbrewing 13h ago

this guy baltimores

definitely a MD tag on the care too even though it’s hard to make out

1

u/jb0nez95 20h ago

Subbed

15

u/Fryszker 20h ago

Another US senator on his way to work

12

u/ClownfishSoup 21h ago

Hey, cam guy was just looking out for him. Other guy had a hammer just in case.

In retrospect, maybe call 911 and report a guy who might be in distress, but needing a quick welfare check?

5

u/jouneyahead 20h ago

Looks like a GTA IV clip

4

u/JK_NC 20h ago

Damn. So he passed out with the car running and still in gear but his foot was on the brake? Wild.

7

u/Mathgailuke 20h ago

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

3

u/LumpyPrincess58 20h ago

Now you know he's not dead

3

u/Successful-Rub4939 20h ago

Dude hit the unpause button and started back where he left of driving.

2

u/eyehate 20h ago

It may take awhile. But he will get home eventually.

2

u/peter1970uk 20h ago

Is that guy at the end about to mug that lady with a hammer

2

u/Popular-Drummer-7989 20h ago

As it should be. He deserves it Maybe he'll get the help he needs

2

u/moszippy 20h ago

I don't think you actually did wake him up.

2

u/Medical_Policy1426 18h ago

I got a feeling that sleepiness isn't the issue.

2

u/Loud-Difficulty7860 18h ago

Passed out Drunk?

2

u/Artevyx 7h ago

That was a GTA lamp post 🤣

4

u/Florida1974 19h ago

Do not even blame yourself. For all you know, he was in need of medical attention, and I would have stopped as well. And I would’ve knocked on his window.

And by the way, he drove, I’m guessing he was on something. Or maybe he was extremely tired from a long road trip but that lean that he is doing in the car, it’s very well known that certain drugs do that. Fentanyl, nitro zine, there are quite a few drugs that can make you do that lean.

I think what you did was nice. But if he had overdosed and needed help?? he probably has a family that cares about him and you did what a lot of people wouldn’t have done, which was try to help

So many people just walk away now.
I tripped over a curb about three weeks ago and it was bad. I’ve had severe asthma since I was a child and the meds have steroids in them, which can thin your skin as you age and that’s what has happened. So I don’t just get a scrape, my skin literally sloughs off. The wound was big and it took all I had to hop and get a clean washcloth, I keep a few in my car for rain purposes, that’s another story and apply it to the wound. I had probably 50 people walked past me and one woman finally came up and asked if she could help.

I told her I was fine, even though I went home and we went to the hospital, but I was very thankful that the kind woman stopped and asked if she could help because no one else did. And I did have her get in my car and get some adhesive bandaging that I had because I couldn’t hop that far around my car, this was bleeding profusely.

We need more good people like you

2

u/ANAero_Kita4 21h ago

At least you got him to move

2

u/_zeroabs_ 21h ago

Was he alive?

21

u/SouldiesButGoodies84 21h ago

Possibly drunk or high but alive yeah.

3

u/Bootziscool 21h ago

That dude was definitely just nodding out right?

2

u/SouldiesButGoodies84 20h ago

We going for irresponsible narcolepsy?

9

u/RealAlphaKaren 20h ago

narco, yes

lepsy, dunno

1

u/ThePesticle 20h ago

"Medical emergency"

9

u/Imbrokencantbefixed 21h ago

No he wasn’t, clearly the car’s natural skittish instincts kicked in when the person filming approached and tapped the side of its head, so it drove its fucking self into the pole…. Was that a serious question?

1

u/_zeroabs_ 20h ago

Of course not

1

u/drummin515 20h ago

What is that beast he’s driving? A La Sabre? Things a tank.

1

u/techman710 20h ago

He can go back to sleep now.

1

u/Beneficial-Act7603 20h ago

No good deed and all that

1

u/TheJoseBoss 20h ago

This seems like some action you do in a hitman game

1

u/ThePesticle 20h ago

"This neighborhood is going downhill" says the dude with the hammer in the last frame...

1

u/Kid_McCabe 20h ago

“PROGRESS AHEAD”

1

u/knowsguy 19h ago

I thought Vito was gonna pop up

1

u/AttorneyImmediate918 19h ago

Youre definitely helping...

1

u/Dwarf_Co 19h ago

Stop sign almost worked. Needed a Stop Street Light pole to finish the job.

1

u/thatmanjay 19h ago

This one is too funny. He thought he had gotten away with the first incident. Then nope.

1

u/jkigold 19h ago

My wild guess is he was asleep for a reason

1

u/romyaz 19h ago

the hammer at the end...

1

u/Lootypatooty 18h ago

Hes tired, pulled an  all nighter

1

u/VisibleRoad3504 18h ago

Maybe one too many barley pops.

1

u/jelloslug 18h ago

This video is like 10 years old.

1

u/FunnyChampion2228 18h ago

Well, at least he obeyed the STOP sign.

1

u/Critical-Test-4446 17h ago

No you shouldn't have woke him up. That's was just plain stupid. You should have called the police and reported a possible DUI or medical emergency. They should then position a squad car in front of and behind the car, just to prevent what happened in the video.

1

u/Grumpy-Troglodyte 17h ago

JFC is this staged??? because i would believe it if it was. funny shit

1

u/Puzzled_Chemistry_53 17h ago

Released the Kraken

1

u/msreserved6 17h ago

A true agent of chaos, lol

1

u/Jakethedane1972 17h ago

And now he's sleeping again.

1

u/mtnviewguy 17h ago

JFC! You call the cops! Are you new?

1

u/LouisWu_ 17h ago

Maybe he needed something like this to put him back on the right path. (If not the right lane!) It's not on you though. For all you knew he might have had a heart attack.

1

u/theraphosa 17h ago

At least he stopped for the Stop sign.

1

u/GrandmaPoses 16h ago

“It’s okay, I know a shortcut.”

1

u/Critical_Dealer6635 16h ago

Fuck, one less Buick 3800-powered car on the road is the bigger tragedy.

1

u/couchpatat0 16h ago

You can't park there!

1

u/deathspanker 15h ago

UID driver, likely not to kill anyone...

1

u/MDlynette 15h ago

What a sequence!

1

u/Godess_Ilias 15h ago

yeah that dude is wasted

1

u/sec713 15h ago

Well, at least he signaled

1

u/VinnyMaxta 14h ago

Just like knocking an NPC car in GTA

1

u/youburyitidigitup 13h ago

I can’t decide if woke is the right conjugation here.

1

u/letsseeitmore 13h ago

High as hell.

1

u/ilkovsky 13h ago

This never would have happened with a manual transmission.

1

u/Wind_Freak 13h ago

Never wake up a drunk person in a car, call the cops let them wake him and arrest him.

1

u/Top_Chard5757 13h ago

Don’t worry. He’s asleep again.

1

u/Ian10 12h ago

Wow this is relatable.  I woke up a woman slumped over her steering wheel in a McDonald’s parking lot because she was blocking the exit.  She seemed a bit startled and then turned the wrong way down a one way street, hit an oncoming car, and then fled through a red light.  I know I’m not responsible for her driving incapacitated, and thankfully no one was hurt, but I do still feel a bit guilty about the timing of it all.

1

u/evilpercy 12h ago

On one of my mornings drive to work at 6 am. I was behind a car at a red light. The car a head of me sat through the green light twice. He was also 2 car lengths away from the line. I took a picture of his plate and got out and knocked on his window. He comes flying out of his vehicle acting super aggressive. He was 5'6" at the most and I'm 6'3", yelling what's my problem? I stated that the light turned green twice. He yelled "what are you a cop". I stated "No, but I can get one." And "are you fing high?"He then jumped in his vehicle and sped off through the red light. I went back to my vehicle and looked at the picture I took. His plate was CHRIS420.

u/Basic-Aspect 11h ago

Baltimore is not the best, don't have the worst

1

u/sik_dik 11h ago

Damnit! Now he has to buy more drugs! …..and a light post and a bumper

1

u/Some-Tear3499 11h ago

That was me about age 18-19. In an old 64 Corvair. Very late at night. I was dead drunk. I just stopped in the road, and passed out.

A cop drove up coming from the other direction, and shined his spot light on my drivers window. I woke up. Looked over at the cop car, put it in gear and drove away. Apparently without an issue. He didn’t pull me over. Scared me!!!! I didn’t fall back asleep/pass out on the rest of the way home. I was a f’king menace. I don’t now how I didn’t kill myself or someone else. I honestly don’t know how I survived until I was almost 23. That’s when I stopped drinking and getting high completely. I am 67 now.

1

u/nwm_is_batman 10h ago

how antisocial of him

1

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 10h ago

These are the kind of low-IQ people I have to share the road with.

1

u/Sir_Gryfius 10h ago

america is a fentanyl infested hell hole

1

u/usps85 9h ago

Too bad, those old LeSabres are sweet rides.

1

u/Big413_ 8h ago

Fucked up his nod

1

u/LucidLV 8h ago

Why is this the most wholesome thing I’ve seen on Reddit in the last few days.

1

u/Meistermaedchen 6h ago

How the hell did he changed gears in this condition?

1

u/Same_Education8151 5h ago

Always the perfect time to call for a medic instead

1

u/sevristh1138 4h ago

That "what the fuck!" at the end had me giggling!

1

u/FDX_PL 3h ago

Gotta get your beauty sleep!

1

u/rageofa1000suns 3h ago

man got wound up and let loose

1

u/someoldbagofbones 20h ago

You know you’re in a good part of town when a random man walks by holding a framing hammer.

3

u/WelcomeToTheClubPal 20h ago

ehhhh from his reactions and position... im going to say drugs

-1

u/Five2Trieste 19h ago

But you kept filming, Spielberg? Someone could have died while you were making your little movie. At least we know why calling 911 before doing anything was never an option.

0

u/jspellman1120 20h ago

Not good deed…Never mind.

0

u/bravemoney72 19h ago

Who would think the thing that makes calling for help accessible almost anywhere is also the very thing that keeps people from helping these days 🤔
