I love the guy at the end just casually strolling down the street with a hammer in his hand.
61
u/SouldiesButGoodies84 21h ago
Pretty sure he grabbed that from his car to go and do check on collision dude who for all he knows is not gonna emerge from that accident in a good/sober mood.

u/randomcharacters3 20h ago
Or if the doors were locked and the guy was having an actual medical emergency.

"Self medication emergency"

u/TedBurns-3 20h ago
There was nothing in his swagger to suggest he was going anywhere near that car... He had his eyes on those bags in front of him!
-1
u/SouldiesButGoodies84 15h ago
In his swagger? Is this a serious comment? He was literally angling his body in the direction of the car. You even see his head briefly turn both ways seemingly looking for oncoming traffic b/c he was about to cross the street.

u/Drak_is_Right 16h ago
Medical emergency, it would be needed to break a window. Though ideally you leave that for paramedics.
Granted cops knocking on the window likely gets the same result.
Someone is getting arrested likely.

LOL, can't decide if the guy with the hammer was thinking ahead about maybe needing to break the window out of that car, about to use it to mug the lady in front of him, or just heading to work with his favorite hammer.
16
u/ComprehendReading 18h ago
I take my favorite hammer to the park, and like this guy, we have to drive to get there.

This is why the cops block people in with their cars when they find someone sleeping.

US a land of the free, where you can't just take a nap for a second inside your own car. 🤷♂️

u/GfunkWarrior28 13h ago
If sleeping it off is your absolute only option, you must significantly minimize your risk:
Move to the backseat: Never sit in the driver's seat, as this shows intent and immediate control over the vehicle.
Stash the keys: Place your car keys in the trunk or outside the vehicle. Putting them in the ignition, cup holder, or your pocket invites a DUI charge.
Engine off: Ensure the car is completely turned off. Do not run the heater or air conditioning.
Legal parking: Make sure you are legally parked in a designated safe spot, not obstructing traffic.

u/KnifeKnut 18h ago
Or sleep it off in the car when you consumed too much alcohol to safely drive.

u/that_tall_nerd 15h ago
You can there’s actually a whole sequence of things they say to do that I’ve found work pretty well (Uni was fun lol) if you have a car with a separate trunk put your keys in there, parking break on, if you have any drink left that goes in the trunk, and sleep in the back seat. If your trunk is connected it’s the same deal but I’ve heard people sometimes put them in with the spare wheel but idk how plausible that is while you’re drunk enough to sleep it off in a car. I’ve had cops investigate while doing this sure but the keys in a different area and me being in the back seat normally get the point across. Only downfall is they do sometimes get picky with where you park though.

If the car isn't running or blocking traffic they should fuck off and let people sleep
11
u/Wind_Freak 13h ago
He’s clearly been drunk driving and not in a parking lot. He should not be allowed to sleep it off anywhere but a jail cell.
1
u/slept221 4h ago
The two options are let him sleep and everyone's safe or wake him up and risk him hitting someone when he drives off. Don't be so authoritarian that you would support innocent people dieing to enforce laws

I don't think this guy was sleeping, he was in a drug-induced stupor. Even alcohol isn't going to screw you up this bad. The telltale sign (no pun intended) was after hitting the stop sign. Even drunk, that's enough to prevent you from round 2.

You’re right! I had a ‘01 Century custom and goddamn I took that thing to hell and back never had an issue. One of the best things about that Century was the front bench seat haha gods I miss that car

u/Rumkitty 15h ago
I had a 93 Century. Thing was a tank. Drank gas like one too, but whoever my dad sold it to could still be driving it today no worries.

Homie that is Baltimore MD, you can see the flag of Baltimore on the sign in the background at the beginning of the video. And the flag of MD is on the side of the bus bc it's a Maryland Transit Administration bus

In retrospect, maybe call 911 and report a guy who might be in distress, but needing a quick welfare check?

Do not even blame yourself. For all you know, he was in need of medical attention, and I would have stopped as well. And I would’ve knocked on his window.
And by the way, he drove, I’m guessing he was on something. Or maybe he was extremely tired from a long road trip but that lean that he is doing in the car, it’s very well known that certain drugs do that. Fentanyl, nitro zine, there are quite a few drugs that can make you do that lean.
I think what you did was nice. But if he had overdosed and needed help?? he probably has a family that cares about him and you did what a lot of people wouldn’t have done, which was try to help
So many people just walk away now.
I tripped over a curb about three weeks ago and it was bad. I’ve had severe asthma since I was a child and the meds have steroids in them, which can thin your skin as you age and that’s what has happened. So I don’t just get a scrape, my skin literally sloughs off. The wound was big and it took all I had to hop and get a clean washcloth, I keep a few in my car for rain purposes, that’s another story and apply it to the wound. I had probably 50 people walked past me and one woman finally came up and asked if she could help.
I told her I was fine, even though I went home and we went to the hospital, but I was very thankful that the kind woman stopped and asked if she could help because no one else did. And I did have her get in my car and get some adhesive bandaging that I had because I couldn’t hop that far around my car, this was bleeding profusely.
We need more good people like you

No he wasn’t, clearly the car’s natural skittish instincts kicked in when the person filming approached and tapped the side of its head, so it drove its fucking self into the pole…. Was that a serious question?

No you shouldn't have woke him up. That's was just plain stupid. You should have called the police and reported a possible DUI or medical emergency. They should then position a squad car in front of and behind the car, just to prevent what happened in the video.

Never wake up a drunk person in a car, call the cops let them wake him and arrest him.

u/Ian10 12h ago
Wow this is relatable. I woke up a woman slumped over her steering wheel in a McDonald’s parking lot because she was blocking the exit. She seemed a bit startled and then turned the wrong way down a one way street, hit an oncoming car, and then fled through a red light. I know I’m not responsible for her driving incapacitated, and thankfully no one was hurt, but I do still feel a bit guilty about the timing of it all.

u/evilpercy 12h ago
On one of my mornings drive to work at 6 am. I was behind a car at a red light. The car a head of me sat through the green light twice. He was also 2 car lengths away from the line. I took a picture of his plate and got out and knocked on his window. He comes flying out of his vehicle acting super aggressive. He was 5'6" at the most and I'm 6'3", yelling what's my problem? I stated that the light turned green twice. He yelled "what are you a cop". I stated "No, but I can get one." And "are you fing high?"He then jumped in his vehicle and sped off through the red light. I went back to my vehicle and looked at the picture I took. His plate was CHRIS420.

That was me about age 18-19. In an old 64 Corvair. Very late at night. I was dead drunk. I just stopped in the road, and passed out.
A cop drove up coming from the other direction, and shined his spot light on my drivers window. I woke up. Looked over at the cop car, put it in gear and drove away. Apparently without an issue. He didn’t pull me over. Scared me!!!! I didn’t fall back asleep/pass out on the rest of the way home. I was a f’king menace. I don’t now how I didn’t kill myself or someone else. I honestly don’t know how I survived until I was almost 23. That’s when I stopped drinking and getting high completely. I am 67 now.

But you kept filming, Spielberg? Someone could have died while you were making your little movie. At least we know why calling 911 before doing anything was never an option.
