Battle March New Post Flair: Battle March!

Hello everyone! With the coming release of the Core Set and the Battle March: General's Companion book (and let us not forget the announced Battle March boxes), we decided to add a post flair for "Battle March".

Please feel free to use it to showcase pictures of Battle March games you are playing, to talk about the format and even write full Battle Reports for the game mode.

This is an exciting time for The Old World/Fantasy with so much coming out, I can't wait to see what great content this community posts!

Time to show more angles and "scenic pics" of Panther knight!

Also, what name should I give him?

Lots of you asked to make a unit of knights on foot out of him, well, with enough Tribes members this can be done 100% !

These were done as an experiment to see how fast I could complete a unit using AK interactive’s playmarkers and Realcolor markers I highly recommend them. They took me about a week to finish.

My High Nippon army (fantasy Japan using High Elf rules) is finished, at roughly 4000 points. You can read more about the models I used, the project so far, and how I might continue at my blog:

I prefer plastic and metal kits to 3d prints, what else should I add to this army?

The Old World WIP: building a dial tracker for Gaze of the Gods (Warriors of Chaos / Beastmen) — would love feedback from anyone who plays these armies

Post image
24 Upvotes

One of the nicest things about working on something new is sharing it while it's still being made 🖤

Only two factions in TOW have Gaze of the Gods (the coolest ones, obviously), so it's a pretty niche accessory, but as a Beastmen player I'm tired of doing the mental math every Command phase when it triggers.

Six dials on two plates (roughly 90×60mm, pretty compact), values we're currently working with:
- Stupidity — off / active / -1 to -5 Ld (once it's already active)
- Initiative +1 and Toughness +1 — off / active until next Start of Turn
- Weapon Skill, Attacks, and Strength+Leadership — off / +1 through +6

Acrylic, hand-painted, magnetic — same build as the rest of our stuff. Still very much work in progress, dial ranges and layout are all open to change based on what's actually useful at the table.

One more thing: it'll only be available in a single color to start. If you play Warriors of Chaos or Beastmen — what color would you actually want to see it in?

Showing Off My Models Forsaken of Slaanesh

Obsession grows quickly in the ranks of any Slaaneshi warband, and obsession over bodily perfection is common occurrence. Many have taken to bizarre alchemical or pseudo magical attempts to become ever more perfect, this can be anything from consuming the blood of others mixed with herbal narcotics to hitting their faces with hammers to sculpt them into a visage more pleasing to the prince of pleasure.

As time moves on these compulsions grow ever more descendent and destructive, usually resulting in death or mutation but for a few it translates into something else, they become forsaken. Lost to a music that only they can hear, they are dance troupe as much as band of warriors, mesmerising to watch, they cavort rhythmically across the battlefield each pirouette and turn resulting in a slashed throat or severed limb. Every crimson spray of arterial red beautiful in its perfection.

The battlefield is dancefloor and the forsaken are its most perfect example.

Next old school knight for my Bretonnians!

He is accidentally the most English knight I could have painted haha, with the colours of St George and the lion Helmet and John Bull shield. Genuinely wasn't intentional, I literally only noticed half way through painting haha

The Stabby Pack rules module

Hi all. I'm throwing this out to reddit for the folks who don't mind a little homebrew in their games and to get some feedback. This is a small rules module for TOW that alters how thrusting spears and halberds work in the game to try and give them a little more of a meaningful role that is both thematic and helps balance some of the longstanding system challenges with the WHFB ruleset that make polearm infantry quite ineffective at doing the job they're ostensibly brought for.

I was inspired to actually get this out by the recent FAQ improving assault infantry (which were already the sort that tended to be taken over defensive infantry) and behemoths, both of which are changes that make spear and halberd wielding infantry comparably weaker.

In summary, long live the pointy stick!

I'd love your thoughts on the module or, even better, if you want to have a play with the rules and see if they create some different gameplay patterns.

Looking for suggestions about old world

Hello.

I was just wondering one thing regarding Old world, i have played 40k for around a decade and AOS for a year or two now but recently ive been looking at and trying to get into Old world but i cant seem to decide what faction to actually start with.

My interest in Old world is mainly from the total war games and some friends in my playgroup that play old world that got me into it. I did play a few games with them since a friend lent me his Tomb King army to play with and i did enjoy my time with it a lot, but i dont like them from a looks aspect from them, even tho they are very cool models.

For context in 40k i play Guard and Sisters mainly but i do have a small number of Dark Eldar and CSM that i play from time to time. In AOS i only have daughters of Kaine and i do enjoy them a lot. And in the Total war games i think i have played almost every faction but the most fun i have had in TW has been with Dark Elves.

Since Dark Elves are not in Old world anymore (legacy) with no easy way to get my hands on them. I was wondering what recommendation anyone might give me on what faction i might enjoy based on the other games i have mentioned.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my post it means a lot. :D

Showing Off My Models Thoughts? Any Suggestions/Improvements?

Based on one of the Talabheim banners from the Uniforms & Heraldry of the Empire book. (Second Image)

The word "Hammer" on the white zigzag sheet is a little botched, but I blew my back out trying to make it as perfect as possible, so I just left it as it is now.

Two other things, any recommendations on what to paint the other side of the banner? I'm not painting it two sided, so should I just paint the other side all red, a mix of red & white, or maybe even use transfers? Also, what colour's best for the unpainted black tassels on the top and bottom of the standard? Green seems to be the most obvious. Cheers.

My Goblin Doom Diver. It's pretty much the GW model without much additions - but I tried making a cool base for it. I know the flying gobbo does not make mush sense here, but where else to put him? I hope you like it. :)

Taurox the Brass Bull painting advice?

Post image

Hi yall. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but since its fantasy related, i thought it might be fine. Im fairly new to painting and was looking for some advice. Im currently painting a Blood Bowl team but since its an alternate reality sorta thing, i like to think this big fella still exists somewhere and was looking to make him the coach of my chaos team. Would anyone know how to achieve his skin/fur without it lookin dumb? I cant seem to find a painting guide or anything for him. All google roads seem to lead to total war links.
