Here is my crazy idea : I wanna see the uzbekistan from Uzbek/resident side, so I come and visit you. you show me around, the foods you like, the places you like etc... I'm a 24 M french guy. I don't care about genders or race as long as you re kind and love uzbekistan :)

As a return, i promise fun times in uzbekistan but also to host you in my house in France/Italy for free and to show you around the areas I enjoy : occitania, catalonia, northern Italy

discussion | muhokama Why is Tashkent’s only IMAX showing The Odyssey exclusively in Russian?

8 Upvotes

I contacted Cinematica at Tashkent City Mall last month to ask whether Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey would be shown in its original English audio, preferably with Uzbek or Russian subtitles.

Their response was:

“Unfortunately, The Odyssey will not be released in IMAX with the original dubbing. It will only be released in Russian.”

Tickets are now appearing, but so far the scheduled screenings are listed only in Russian. Cinematica’s website also has a separate listing for “The Odyssey (ENG),” so it is still unclear whether ordinary English screenings will eventually be added—but they have specifically said that the IMAX version will not be available in English.

Honestly, this feels unfair and completely contrary to the purpose of showing a Christopher Nolan film in IMAX.

The Odyssey was filmed entirely using IMAX film cameras and is being marketed around the world as a major cinematic event. Yet audiences in Tashkent may be able to experience the IMAX picture only with a Russian dub replacing the actors’ original performances.

Why can’t Cinematica offer even one English-language IMAX screening per day, or several original-language screenings during the opening week?

Tashkent has:

  • English-speaking Uzbek moviegoers;
  • international residents and tourists;
  • people learning English;
  • film fans who prefer actors’ real voices;
  • viewers who do not speak Russian fluently.

Nobody is asking them to remove the Russian screenings. We are simply asking for some choice: original English audio with Uzbek or Russian subtitles.

It is especially frustrating because Cinematica presents itself as a premium, world-class cinema and already operates an English Movie Club. If there is enough demand for regular English screenings of other Hollywood releases, surely one of the biggest IMAX films ever made deserves at least a few English IMAX sessions.

Would anyone else in Tashkent attend an English-language IMAX screening of The Odyssey?

Please comment if you would buy a ticket. Perhaps Cinematica will reconsider if they can see that there is genuine demand.

help | yordam **VENT** I feel so ashamed and guilty that I can't speak uzbek properly or stutter sometimes.

7 Upvotes

I rarely ever interact with outside world and that's why I'm a failure in this world and will be for the rest of my life if I can't figure out how to develop myself through networking and jobs, etc. Idk I'm in so much pain regretting about not figuring out basic stuff, including not knowing Uzbek properly like other uzbeks do, cuz im uzbek myself too... would be glad if i had a companion who could speak both english and uzbek, I'd like to improve my uzbek lexicon cuz i dont understand the meaning of some uzbek words. Idk how i should feel rn, 1/4 of my life gone to waste for nothing.

Ik the correlation between sentences is null.

food & snacks | ovqat yeguliklar Healthy Uzbek Foods?

3 Upvotes

Hi all. I've been craving some traditional Uzbek foods but I haven't been able to eat many anymore because of my gut issues. I have a metabolic disorder, so I can't eat fried/oily foods, high-carb foods (ex: white rice or white flour), or red meats, which is basically what most of the foods that my family would make growing up were, such as plov or samsa. I want to know if there are traditional Uzbek foods that I could eat without needing substitutions.

ask r/Uzbekistan Any Uzbek skincare or makeup brands worth buying?

2 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm traveling to Uzbekistan next month and was wondering if there are any local skincare or makeup brands worth checking out while I'm there. I'd love to bring home something local instead of international brands. Thanks!

ask r/Uzbekistan Tashkent best times to see places

2 Upvotes

Assalomu alaykum everyone. I’m visiting Uzbekistan this month (July 18-30) and Tashkent is part of my itinerary.

One, I’d love advice on the best part of the day to visit the following places

Some suggest early morning, others around 11am to noon.

  1. Hazrati Imam Complex: want to explore in detail, take as much time as is needed.

Again, some folks are suggesting mornings while others recommending late afternoon / evening.

  1. The Central Asian Pilaf Center: 11am to get an early start?

  2. Independence Square: visit at late night?

  3. Minor Mosque: not sure when to go

Finally what are the rates for guides to the Hazrati Imam Complex? An estimate would do

Katta Rahmat!

Why all these auto schools, express courses and etc are so expensive. And not only that but exam itself is 1.5 mil sums and if you fail you gotta pay again the same amount. This is outrageous!! When it comes to theoretical exam you can do it by yourself, you don’t have to go somewhere and pay additional 600k or 1 mil. I had enough i opened my own telegram channel where i post tests from exams with explanations.

discussion | muhokama knock knock , whos there? I am your husband's first wife

14 Upvotes

knock knock , whos there? I am your husband's first wife ...

a far friend of mine (and a relative to my wife ) got an arranged married to a 18 yo girl which is his relative too ( granddaughter of the aunt )

they made a small happy wedding , I even went with him to buy some clothes for him before his wedding , everything went good the husband went to russia to work , till this certain day , which is after few months of marriage a woman came with a 1 yo kid in her hands and asked to go in , and intoruced herself as a first wife and wanted money for the kid , they called the husband and indeed he confessed that this woman is his first wife

now everything went south and everyone is sad , the new wife is so sad because she felt he lied so much , and even lost lots of weight

the father is sad

the grandmother of the wife is sad with her brother

and the greater issue is that the husband says he doesn't love his 2nd wife and it was arranged marriage !

anyway its just a rant I wanted to share

ask r/Uzbekistan MBBS in Ferghana or Andijan??

1 Upvotes

I'm from India actually and our medical board(NMC) is shitting around declaring many medical university across different countries as "not eligible".

SO I want to know the current accreditation, recognition, and overall reputation of Fergana and Andijan Medical Universities by uzbek.

If it (med uni) has strong support and recognition from its own govt it would be more reliable.

P.S :- Pls kindly share information like,

  1. Is the total duration really 6 years ? 2.Duration of internship after completing course
  2. Language medium

help | yordam Can my landlord do this?

3 Upvotes

Is it normal for my landlord to come, suddenly, enter the house, and keep commenting on things like having dust on the shelf?

Is it normal for him to come wake me up in the morning for no obvious reason?

Is it normal to threaten to kick me out pick the kitchen was LITERALLY a little messy and by messy I mean thing were not in place.

Is this all normal?
