Because Advocate is an LGBT-rights publication. It's their job to report on things that affect the lives of LGBT people, which in this case is her calling on people to be "warriors" against trans people.
When Republicans are platforming stochastic terrorism like this, it's making the country less safe for LGBT people, so they need to know about it.

I get the sentiment but fr when it comes to white nationalists like Erika KKKirk, taking the high road and ignoring them doesn't help anything. Staying silent allows them to normalize extremist rhetoric without pushback. It actually is important to call it out when people use terrorist rhetoric, which is what this is.
That being said I personally would be participating in Erika Kirk bashing even if there was no obvious benefit because to me it's funny in a tragicomic sort of way to see her delusional ass thinking she's pulling off "happy warrior" instead of just looking like a Minecraft villain gone wrong with her square head and her hateful little butthole eyes

I highly, highly encourage you to watch the Shiny Happy People series on Prime video.
There are two “season,” but they’re pretty short. The first one is about strict fundies like the Duggars and the IBLP. It’s 4 episodes long, and shows where a lot of this comes from. (I also recommend The Family on Netflix.) The second season is only 3 episodes, and it’s called Teenage Holy War, and it talks about how organizations like Teen Mania run these insane bootcamp experiences and how they work to raise up an army of believers.
It’s a total of 7 episodes, it’ll make you beyond thankful you weren’t a part of it, and it will give a lot of insight into the language you hear people like Erica Kirk and Pete Hegseth and others using.

I’m curious too. I had the misfortune to briefly work with a surgeon who was a nightmare—openly homophobic, misogynistic, and racist—and I was in charge of him so it was my job to try to police his bullshit and eventually got him fired.
He knew better than to fuck around in earshot of me, and referred to me as a “happy warrior.” Knowing his proclivities and hearing the same phrase from Kirk’s mouth makes me wonder.

It was scary. I had to involve the cops because after he got fired he tried to contact me and several others from the hospital to try to convince us it was a mistake to let him go. He went so far as to go to one of my tenants (who’s also a close friend of mine), trying to get him to contact me by pretending to be someone else.
I didn’t feel safe for a while until I had proof he had left the province. I swear I’m going to hear about him someday on a true crime podcast or some shit 😩

Doing the right thing can be a scary thing , I hope you keep track of him ,thank goodness for the internet , and that medical practitioners have to stay registered in each state. Always look after yourself and don't get complacent. My job has made me to always be conscious of my surroundings and new vehicles in my neighborhood ,ever time you park your car stop and just look around before you exit, the same thing when exiting home and buildings, we all become so relaxed with our surroundings and entranced with our phones that people just don't realize all the things going on around us. Congratulations on doing the right thing, if people would do more when they see things that are obviously wrong then we wouldn't be in the situation that this country is in now. Stay vigilant in your life and be proud of yourself.

Charlie Kirk and Ben Shapiro’s schtick were as conservative rage baiters. There was a certain skill in their provocation. Toeing the line between being provocative without being ostracized. If Don Imus is on one end and Tucker Carlson while at Fox News is on the other end, their task is to dance within the two. Erika Kirk is way outside that threshold. Her statement is the opposite of Don Imus and Tucker Carlson. It’s bland, not provocative. The type of racist and homophobic behavior you can’t be bothered to care about. And it’s the worst thing that can happen to her.
