Chris Dorner could be John Brown if we let him

u/PierreOnTheEclair 18h ago
Who’s Chris Dorner? 😭

u/No-Chipmunk-4590 15h ago
An LAPD officer that felt slighted by his coworkers so he went on a killing spree, hid in a cabin and was burned out. During the search for him some other officers misidentified a truck that they thought was his but wasn't and gunned down 2 innocent women.
His grievances may have had merit, but he should have called a good employment attorney. Los Angeles has a history of settling with large amounts.3
u/OGCroflAZN 8h ago
Slighted is one way to put it
It's pretty clear he became totally disillusioned with being a cop in the LAPD, disgusted with the state of it. Hell, most Angelinos are disgusted w it
It's not about employment or money. It's about a system full of people that actively thwart a lot of good while benefitting and protecting and promoting the bad. A rotten system, irredeemable
Clearly, he was totally ok with killing and dying, more about principles
He was a former vet, like I am

u/No-Chipmunk-4590 8h ago
A dispute over a bad evaluation is not some sort of grand crusade.
Killing a Cal State Fullerton assistant basketball coach and her fiance just because her dad was a police Captain was not a quest for holy vengeance.
Taking an innocent family hostage after breaking into their cabin is not something done for "principles".I'm a retired Marine, but I have never taken innocent people hostage or killed someone's child and their boyfriend just because I was mad at the dad/perspective FIL.
It isn't like Dorner exposed some big corruption ring or something. He claimed his training officer kicked a suspect a couple times, so she gave him a bad evaluation. Did she kick a suspect? Maybe, maybe not, the port authority officer there said no, Dorner said yes. She did not kill the suspect and his children though. There were better ways for Dorner to handle it than murdering and kidnapping innocent people.
2
u/OGCroflAZN 7h ago
The word 'principles' has a broader definition than you're applying.
Now you're flipping this around. Your original comment made it seem like he just went mad after being 'slighted'. Slight also means slight. Clearly, it was a lot deeper. Obv, he was much more about ideology than getting his 'bag' w aome kind of settlement. He wanted to cause harm. And he did. He definitely went pretty 'postal', burn-it-all-down crazy. And there's no way logistically that he could have ever been surgical. He wanted harm and fear and for all cops and retired cops (and future cops) and their loved ones to second-guess being in/connected to the profession
0
u/No-Chipmunk-4590 7h ago
One bad evaluation is slight. Far from the end of the world. It wasn't about the profession, it was about he had a beef with his training officer and went coo-coo.
He could have punched her in the chest a couple times and asked how she liked it. He could have just gone and gotten a job at a different department; the chief even offered a rehearing so he may have been able to just get transferred. He could have sued the city and gotten paid big bucks in a settlement. He could have gone from reserve to active and left it all behind.
There was no excuse for murdering his lawyer's (the captain's) daughter and her fiance nor for taking that family hostage. None at all.

Are we really celebrating a cop who murdered a bunch of people? He was a violent agent of the state. Dorner is not some leftist hero. He’s a murderous pig.

u/Impossible-Heart-216 18h ago
What about the cops that shit up the innocent girls in the truck were they not violent agents of the state?

u/RosyRainbows 20h ago
The people supposed to prosecute are on it too so probably won’t happen

u/m4ckH4ck 19h ago
And that's why it won't happen. Epstein and Co were very clever to involve literally anyone with any kind of power in their scheme.
We, the people, outnumber those with power... I'm just saying... The majority muricans could do something about it if they really really wanted to...

u/RandomPenquin1337 20h ago
Well, are you able to call the judge and donate $1m to his political fund? No?
Then stfu and go to jail like a good peasant
5
u/DonLeFlore 19h ago
People who have been proven completely innocent have been accidentally revealed in the Epstein lists
Yes, go to court if you feel like your traffic ticket was improperly given. Use the resources guaranteed to you like a public defender and function like an adult in a civilized society.

Laws have always been only for the poor. The fact that more and more Americans are realizing this is because more and more of us are poor.

One crime/misdemeanor doesnt excuse another, hopefully some day soon those involved woth Epstein face justice.

I always wonder why in USA you must go to court for traffic ticket.
Here in EU you get penalty notice at site where cops stops you or via mail if its stational speed radar.
2
u/No-Chipmunk-4590 15h ago
You can always just pay it if you want to. By going to court and pleading not guilty there is a very good chance that the cop won't show and you get the ticket dismissed.

The reason is the rich and well connected don’t have to obey the laws us common folk have to. 🫠

I feel like people really don’t understand what the Epstein files are. They are thousands of pages of barely related documents. They aren’t a “list” by any reasonable definition. Most of the people mentioned in them are not implicated in any crimes.

I don't even know what the point of a meme like this is. OFC no one got arrested, we made one of the main guys in the files POTUS. use this as a reminder to never vote for the GOP.

u/powertoollateralus 18h ago
Am I the only one who interpreted this as complaining because his traffic ticket is related to the Epstein files?

I am sure if you got a ticket merely for knowing a speeder, you would not think that is fair.

You know all the older people who were clutching pearls over an evil healthcare CEO getting murdered?
Do you see much pearl clutching from them after 100+ innocent girls got killed by tomahawk missile?
Pentagon isn't even investigating it.
You only matter if you're wealthy.
2
u/WorryNotBanIncoming 18h ago
I remember filthy J Ben Shapiro being like “they only have a 6% profit margin, that’s not a lot”
Like I wonder if Ben’s daughter was on her deathbed and a united healthcare rep walked in and whispered in her ear “sorry sweetheart, your claim is denied, we only have 6% profit margin” if Ben would agree and tell his shitty soon-to-be-dead daughter “tough luck”
1
u/ZeeWingCommander 18h ago
That's the thing they have a strategy where they target people dying because they know they don't fight the denials as much. It's not a conspiracy.
They do this to older customers too for the same reason. Also why they make it painful to fight the claim denial.
In general appeal success percentage is pretty high because they have so many BS denials.
2
u/WorryNotBanIncoming 18h ago
Which, ya know it’s capitalism, they have to
Which is shitty enough but it is what it is.
What REALLY gets me is when people like try to pretend that thats the moral way, they only way. That bugs me. Just be honest and say you enjoy having money more than you care about sick people getting better.
Just own up to it ya know?

You guys realize the Epstein files don't prove anything right

u/Temporary_Body_5435 19h ago
There’s still millions of files that have not been released.

Biden and Obama both had the files their entire presidencies.

Because the vast majority of people on the list just took a ride in a plane.
3
u/Confident_Insect_616 20h ago edited 20h ago
Which they called the Lolita Express.
Also, to correct OP, not even ONE of the accused has been charged. It's not merely "nearly all".
Since Epstein had ties to intelligence services for the US, UK, Israel, and MBS, we will likely not see most of them. Epstein was an access agent, who would cooperate with intelligence services. He could offer things to the rich and powerful they could simply not buy. He farms them for blackmail and more access to power. He was involved in trafficking of people and weapons and more.
This wasn't supposed to see the light of day. But it has, and now these governments have no idea how to handle it, because applying the law fairly would pit the U.S. DOJ against some of the most vile and powerful people on the planet.

Not everyone is a customer of the human trafficking business. Some are employees. I think we should even arrest the pilot.
2
u/Odd_Wolverine9361 20h ago
Nobody is saying the "vast majority" should be jailed though, just the ones that actually did commit crimes.
1
u/Confident_Insect_616 20h ago
John Stewart is technically in the files. They said "somebody like John Stewart" once, but obviously he shouldn't face any consequences for that.
3 days ago, Allison Gill's FOIA request came through and she now has the training videos for FBI agents on how to redact mentions of and references to Trump. There are real criminals here. Child predators, abusers, and murderers. Not one has been held to account, and they will continue to skirt accountability as long as we allow MAGA to hold onto power.
-2
u/FreeSirJeffrey 20h ago
OP is complaining "nearly everyone" is still free.
They clearly meant the vast majority, so you're a liar.
1
u/Odd_Wolverine9361 20h ago
Lmao, it's rhetoric, an ironic comment about fairness, not a tipoff to the FBI.
Do you always take everything literally? or are you just pretending to so you can act all contrarian? 😂

Pam Bondi admitted that the FBI had videos containing minor victims. There are other people in those videos and not a SINGLE ONE has been investigated, let alone arrested
0
u/FreeSirJeffrey 19h ago
Then they should have been arrested under Obama's presidency when it happened, or Trump's first attempt, or Biden's time, or Trump's second attempt.
4 successive failures. This isn't just a GOP issue.
0
u/maringue 19h ago
This was still a state level issue until around the late 2010s. You know that sweetheart deal that the Florida AG gave Epstein.
Under Biden, the case was sealed pending Maxwell's appeal. Weird how Trump only released a portion of the files even though a federal law demands they all be released.
