It's just straight up avoidance. It's the same thing that causes overweight people to continue gaining weight. It's easier to stream than it is to dig into that shit. Getting a cleaning crew still means you have to deal with the mess - you have to make calls on what stays and what goes. You have to deal with their judgment and having them in your space. That's why, when his ability to stream is taken away, he works on the house; it's in his face and the habitual easy out isn't there. There's a dozen other versions and almost everyone deals with this on a daily basis - we just don't let it escalate to anything like this, but his circumstances have been equal in extreme to the mess he now has. Twitch forced him to turn ads and monetization back on because he was costing them too much money in banwith. They told him he needed to turn it on, or they would turn it on and claim all the revenue instead so he turned it on so Twitch couldn't take all the money.

There's definitely a few types. Some people are clout goblins, some want money, and some just have a weird parasocial relationship.
