Is that a nickname for a chain or something? I’ve heard of fruit stands, I’ve never heard of *the* fruit stand

I bake cookies all the time and I’m mad I never thought of this lmfao.
Also 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of baking powder in my recipe. Mix in everything before the flour and whisk until bubbly while it’s hot. Makes for better cookies imo. Remember they cook on the pan after you take them out
4
u/Abuses-Commas 15h ago
while what's hot, the melted butter? wouldn't the sugar or eggs cool it down?
please and thank you, I'm always on the hunt for a better cookie
2
u/slonkulocuswily182 15h ago
So I melt the butter almost completely first, then add the brown sugar and sugar, baking soda and salt, whisk with a handheld blender until it’s bubbly, then eggs. All the dry ingredients cool the butter but keeps it nice and aerated and sludgy to mix everything perfectly wet till you add the eggs, (never add the eggs first u end up with cooked eggs lol) then keep running the blender on high for a bit. It’ll look like a brown bubbly sludge which is good, then the flour, and finally chocolate chips. Pop them in the oven for 10 minutes and let cool just heavenly cookies every time.
So just create the wet sugar sludge first, mix well, then eggs, mix, then flour. And like 2.5 or 3 cups of chocolate chips.
It’s really, really good

u/Abuses-Commas 14h ago edited 14h ago
I'm goving this order a try for my next batch! thanks a lot. I've always mixed the salt and the soda in with the dry
2
u/slonkulocuswily182 13h ago
Yeah anytime. It’s a little weird because all the recipes say to do it that way but idk just hits better to me

So I went to your profile (great work btw) and I was under the impression that you just made cookies then I saw your chicken video and thought it was some fancy cookie before realizing it was chicken. Now I’m just very excited to try your coconut chicken cookie recipe

😂 I've been expanding ... there's videos for Bacon Cheddar Scones, Pizza, Flatbreads etc too
I've been in the culinary industry for 20+ years.
I used to teach daily cooking classes for the guests at a resort, where I was the Executive Chef for a few years. It was something that I thoroughly enjoyed. After leaving that behind, I created this channel as a new outlet. I decided to start with cookies because thats what got me into cooking as a kid.
Enjoy the videos!

What about making a cup with a wider mouth...
Then you could break up the cookies and eat them with a spoon...

u/GrimCreeper913 13h ago
I love this thread, but realistically, was Cookie Crisps ever not sugared styrofoam(sp?)? Don't get me wrong. As a kid I loved most of that junk, but nowadays I don't even care for most Captain Crunch variations because of that texture.
4
u/a_likely_story 13h ago
yeah, you really got to let em sog up a bit
6
u/GrimCreeper913 13h ago
Ha, just reminded me when as a kid I tried to make the argument that I should be able to eat choc chip cookie dough ice cream for breakfast, because it was basically the same ingredients. Memories are wild sometimes.
I lost that argument btw, but not for lack of trying.
2
u/DirtyLittlePriincess 11h ago
this is the argument i used on my husband that “breakfast cookies” were perfectly acceptable if people ate cereal for breakfast. my kids love putting in their “order” for breakfast cookies when we tuck them in.
3
u/TheOneTonWanton 11h ago
I'm the type to like soggy cereal so it's never a problem for me. Don't eat it much, but when I do it doesn't matter what the cereal is; I let it marinate a bit before I dig in. Soggy frosted flakes and soggy frosted mini-wheats are my fuckin jam.

Chocolate Chip Dippin' Sticks
Makes about 18–20 cookie sticks
Bake at 375°F for 8–10 minutes (from frozen)
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
6 oz (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
1 1/4 cups dark brown sugar, packed
1 large egg
1 TB vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups mini dark chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated. Scrape down the bowl as needed.
Add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the mini dark chocolate chips.
Using a 1 oz cookie scoop, portion the dough onto a sheet tray lined with parchment paper.
Take each individual dough ball and fold the parchment over the dough about three-quarters of the way, then use a bench scraper or another straight edge to press and slide the dough into a long log. Repeat the pressing motion a few times until each log is roughly 8–10 inches long.
Transfer the shaped logs to a clean parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze until completely firm. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer bag for long-term storage.
Bake the cookie sticks directly from frozen for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are just set.
As soon as they come out of the oven, use two flat spatulas to gently push in the sides and straighten the cookie sticks while they're still soft. They'll spread during baking, so reshaping them immediately gives them that clean, uniform look.
Let cool on the baking sheet for several minutes before transferring.
Serve with a cold glass of milk for the ultimate dunking experience. 🍪🥛

u/Heavyspire 20h ago
Just an observation. Should you have the 'preheat oven" part of the direction after the freezer directions?
198
u/Lokarhu 19h ago
Pre-heat the oven in perpetuity. One never knows when one may want to bake chocolate chip dunking sticks. Might your house burn down? Yes, but it is a sacrifice one must be willing to take for chocolate chip dunking sticks
24
u/LetsCookie Human Detected 18h ago edited 18h ago
lol they honestly freeze pretty quick though
5
u/slonkulocuswily182 16h ago
I normally go 1 tsp and 1 tsp for baking soda and salt. Any reason for the 1/4 and 3/4?
Also amazing idea for the cookie sticks I’m mad I haven’t thought of this before lol
7
u/wingchild 15h ago
likely light on baking soda because these don't really need to rise
and reduced salt because it reads like a reduced volume Tollhouse chocolate chip cookie recipe with the extra step of "shape into logs"
4
u/slonkulocuswily182 15h ago
Hm. Thanks for the response. And yeah I use the dollhouse recipe lmfao just whisk everything but the flour first
5
u/honey-bee-mommy 13h ago
This is the best advice I’ve seen since that one time I found out about baking cookies into sticks for dunking them in milk. From now on, my oven will be preheated and my cookies will be STICKS! (It’s in caps because I’m yelling…..I have a hard time controlling my inside voice when I’m this happy)

Same in European:
Chocolate Chip Dippin’ Sticks
Makes about 18–20 cookie sticks
Bake at 190°C for 8–10 minutes (from frozen)
Ingredients
250 g all-purpose flour
3.75 ml (¾ tsp) baking soda
1.25 ml (¼ tsp) baking powder
2.5 ml (½ tsp) salt
170 g butter, softened
275 g dark brown sugar, packed
1 large egg
15 ml (1 tbsp) vanilla extract
255 g mini dark chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 190°C and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Using a 30 g cookie scoop, portion the dough onto a sheet tray lined with parchment paper.
Take each individual dough ball and fold the parchment over the dough about three-quarters of the way, then use a bench scraper or another straight edge to press and slide the dough into a long log. Repeat the pressing motion a few times until each log is roughly 20–25 cm long.
As soon as they come out of the oven, use two flat spatulas to gently push in the sides and straighten the cookie sticks while they’re still soft. They’ll spread during baking, so reshaping them immediately gives them that clean, uniform look.

If you can adapt the recipe to different types of cookies, you can get creative with the combos:
PB cookie with chocolate mousse
PB cookie with banana pudding
Snickerdoodle with vanilla yogurt dip
Sugar cookie with strawberry whipped cream
Double chocolate chip with peppermint cheesecake dip
