I've got nothing against people who like to bet, but it feels like you can't watch an NBA game anymore without being reminded to gamble every five minutes.

Pregame odds. Live odds. Same-game parlays. Halftime betting segments. Commercials. Broadcast graphics. Podcasts sponsored by sportsbooks. Even social media discussion has turned into "I need 3 more rebounds from Player X."

It feels like the actual basketball has become secondary!!

Maybe I'm just getting older, but I miss when broadcasts focused more on matchups, coaching adjustments, and player storylines instead of constantly telling me the odds have shifted from +180 to +165.

Does anyone else feel like sports betting in the US has gone way overboard, or am I in the minority here? It's the offseason and it's still being rammed down our throats.

In 2024, "no good deed"

Lost my baby boy two days ago. He was mostly healthy, but lost a lot of weight about 5-6 months ago and didn't really regain the weight despite doctors having a look. Even a week ago, he was walking and eating and everything. Finally had to put him to sleep because he was in cardiac distress. We got heart scans about 4 months ago but was all clear except for age related issues. The doc said his issues like mega oesophagus grow slowly.

I don't know if I missed any signs or if he could've lived longer.

But this pain is unbearable. I've had him since I was almost 12 and I don't know if it'll get better.

On a walk with my husband our daughter pointed out that the mailbox shadows remind her of Bluey and Bingo. 😍
