🤔 Discussion US Iran-War [Day 149]

Typo in the title, [DAY 140] (thanks u/theyahoo) **

Unfortunately we have to have another megathread, as this situation does not look like its letting up.

Gentle reminder Ladies and Gents, PLEASE please use the search function on the sub to ask your shipping related questions, we get at least 10 posts a day regarding the same matter.

This post and this subreddit is meant to discuss Bahrain and the current affairs of Bahrain. Please refrain from flexing your political analysis on the current state of affairs and most certainly do not post unsubstantiated news, do not post any rumors and add to the mass hysteria. Users are also urged not to speculate on what type of hostilities or defenses being used. If its X missile or drone Y does not help. You are either revealing sensitive information, or causing mass hysteria. One makes you a liability, the other makes you a negative contributor, and your comment will lead to a permanent ban as well.

In addition the government has spent an unknown amount of money to make air raid sirens, a notification system and countless amounts of awareness posts on different media channels. DO NOT report sirens or all clears, people have phones that will notify them of that automatically. These will now be classified as misinformation.

Any comments that have any misinformation, tweets from armchair analysts or instagram influencers will lead to a permanent ban. Do not engage in these comments, just downvote and report. Any comments arguing or correcting the user with misinformation will be banned as well.

For security and safety reasons, any post or comment that discloses or attempts to identify the locations of Bahraini or Peninsula Shield Forces military installations, missile interception sites, or other sensitive military positions will result in a ban.

All users are urged not get into arguments. Please be civil. Do not report opinions, report violations. We have taken the decision as mods to allow low karma users to post and comment, however, this can change if we see repeated violations from users who do not read the rules before posting.

We do appreciate the effort from all users policing the sub from the spread of the governments security information, however we have received an excessive amount of reports about locations of sounds. While we don't endorse it, we are only restricting comments about defensive capabilities such as interceptors. Please try to be civil. Don’t feed the trolls, report them.

We rely heavily on reports, however lets keep the reports for:

  1. Comments with misinformation or unverified news
  2. Comments that are obviously trolling us
  3. Comments that are disrespectful
  4. Comments that violate local security instructions

Any other posts regarding the war will be removed. Please use the search function for any commonly asked questions. Lets keep the space uncluttered in the event of any serious developments.

☝️ AskBH nursing or chemical engineering?

Upvotes

im feel like im going insane bc i cant pick between the two

I originally wanted to study medicine, but I ended up giving up on that dream because it's too expensive, and the unemployment situation scares me

nursing was(and still is) my "plan b" but my family n friends keep telling me not to persue it mainly bc of how hard the job is and because of the mistreatment

while i personally dont mind that i cant help but think ill regret it later on

as for chemical engineering im worried it'll be hard to find a job after graduation especially as a girl

also physics was the subject i hated the most at school but at the same time math n chemistry were my fav so idek if engineering is the right fit for me

im bahraini if that makes a difference

the unis im applying to

chem eng in uob

and nursing is AGU

id really appreciate it if someone shared their experience

gymnation scam

I’m trying to cancel my GymNation membership because I’m permanently leaving the country. I explained my situation and provided proof, but they told me they won’t process the cancellation unless I first pay.

This is the exact message they sent me:

“The membership cancellation will not be processed unless the payment is received. Please make sure the payment is done today via the above link. If not, the cancellation will be rejected. Thank you.”

I told them I’m leaving the country and can’t continue the membership, but they basically said it doesn’t matter as long as I pay, even with the 30 days notice!!!

Has anyone dealt with this before? Is this normal, and is there anything I can do? Any advice would be really appreciated.

🤔 Discussion Do people not go for movies anymore?

I study in India and I'm on summer break in Bahrain right now. I just got out of watching Odyssey from the CC and the theater was pretty empty. I remember when I was studying here, a lot of the movies would have tickets filled and I would always book online to get the best seats.

And for the mallus, Al Hamra used to be always full on the first days. I watched Balan and iNobody on first day of the release but the theatre was so empty.

☝️ AskBH Best chips choice in Bahrain

Hi!

So, I hope I am not the only chips fan here in Bahrain and there are others who adore and enjoy this wonderful snack! Since arriving here few months ago I have tried out all the main brands and basic flavours (Megachips, Lays, Hunter’s, and some imports as well). So is there a shop or bigger mart where there is a bigger choice of other brands or European imports (like San Carlo from Italy which I just love)? At the moment I think Hypermax in City Centre have quite big choice, but maybe you know others as well?
Thanks!

☝️ AskBH Struggling to find a job

I’ve graduated from ANIS back in may of this year and I’ve went through every Major Group in Bahrain and applied to through their website, aswell as every job application on indeed that I can find, and apply on Tamkeen. Yet none of them replied back which is surprising since I’ve spent the past 3 months job searching and I couldn’t find a single minimum wage retail job still. So I’m wondering if I’m the only one going through this??? I have to save up some money on my own for the upcoming months.
Can anyone give any tips of some sort, any will be appreciated 🙏

IMAX at Marassi Galleria

Has anyone been to the IMAX at Reel Cinemas in Marassi?? Is the screen size bigger than what they have at City Centre or same? The city centre IMAX is just the regular screen in my opinion so genuinely interested to know if Marassi did it better!

☝️ AskBH Anyone know what happened to compressed air dusters?

Seems out of stock in Manazil, Advanti, master PC ... almost everywhere.

Did they prevent their sale here or something? Anyone see any shop selling them? The electronic ones I found were very weak in comparison and couldn't clean keyboards.

It's a minor detail, but has anyone else noticed the damage to the IMAX screen at City Centre?

It looks like scratches/wrinkles towards the middle of the screen.

🤔 Discussion This broke my heart

Smth heart breaking happened to me , i was in a mall a man came in front of me , his toddler without shoes jumped in front of me with 27 days cake , he kept standing behind me, he was using his phone, the cashier asked him pay but he kept using his phone , i got confused, i thought he has batteries or smth like that too in his hand too , i can’t remember properly, after a while like a minute, he kept using his phone while i am on side , toddler with that cake in front of counter and i am wasting for him to finish phone and come in front , somehow he said it’s ok , he just left with the tolder cake still on counter . When he picked the boy he started crying , then a guy from behind payed for the cake and went after him , after all this I realized he wanted me to pay for cake and probably didn’t had wallet or whatever, which i realized really really late. This broke my heart, i am regretting it so much but i didn’t came in my mind at that time .

Looking for a Loving Home for My Sweet Turkish Angora

Post image
34 Upvotes

This is one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to write.
I’m looking for a loving home for my beautiful 3 year old Turkish Angora . He is an indoor cat, fully vaccinated, neutered, healthy, and litter trained. He has a wonderful temperament, very gentle, affectionate, and loves being around people. He enjoys cuddling, sleeping next to his favorite person in the mornings, and is both playful and calm.
Unfortunately, due to my high risk pregnancy and my current circumstances, I have made the heartbreaking decision to rehome him. This is not something I ever wanted to do, and my only goal is to find him a family that will love and care for him as much as I have.
