Problem is much like the Nazi's there's a good chance they can outfight their opposition. The extreme right is more armed, more hateful, less ethical and has the protection of the state.

Not that there's a lot of research but I think Pew institute and John Hopkins have research supporting it. I think you'd be accurate to say people underestimate Democratic gun ownership. And that neither a majority of Democrats or Republicans have a gun-toting majority. But there is like a 2-1 ratio.
