Unknown whereabouts of property
I’m sorry if this isn’t relevant to this subreddit but I just found out some shocking news. My grandparents used to live in a trailer park in Niagara before they passed away. My uncle has been living in my late grandparents trailer home up until his most recent arrest. He is now being evicted and my family has to deal with moving my grandparents stuff plus his stuff out of the house.
But just this morning, a close friend of my late grandparents was driving by the house and noticed a u haul in the driveway. When he approached the people with the u haul, he asked who they were and why they were there. They told him that they were hired by the property manager to move all the stuff out of the house. He was suspicious and called my dad to tell him what was up. My Dad then called the property manager who told him that he did not know who these people were and he did not hire them.
Best case scenario: my uncle knew he was getting evicted and arranged to get all the stuff moved to his storage unit. Neglected to tell the rest of the family and now we are panicking. A bad senecio: the property manager is lying to us and just wanted all the stuff moved out so that the house can get rented out again. Worst case scenario: these were just random thieves who knew the house was sitting there without anyone living in it, and took an undetermined amount of my grandparents and uncles things.
We really don’t know what is happening. My family lives approximately 4-5 hours away from my grandparents house in Niagara and my dad is travelling there as I type to try to figure everything out.
I guess I’m asking for anyone in the Niagara region to keep a lookout for a sketchy u haul, as it might be filled with my dead grandparents stuff. I know it’s just stuff, but we don’t even know yet what is gone or what might still be there.
I’m sad and confused and scared. I left out a lot of details for family privacy but if anyone knows anything about this please share

Residential cleaning service recommendations
I've been having my house cleaned every other week for 3 hours each time and it's been really awesome. For various reasons I'm looking to switch to a new company/service.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a cleaning company they would recommend? Friday mornings works best with my schedule - I'm out of the house and they can just do their thing without me in the way. I can make other time work though

Concerns about the proposed Niagara Falls RV and Trailer By-law changes
I recently reviewed the City’s proposed RV and Trailer By-law changes and completed the public survey. I understand the need for reasonable regulations related to safety, sightlines, and neighbourhood concerns, but I have concerns that some of the proposed rules may be too broad and could create unintended consequences.
Two areas stand out as significant concerns: the proposed 14-day driveway limit and the prohibition on sleeping in RVs or trailers on residential properties.
The 14-day limit could significantly affect residents who responsibly own RVs or similar vehicles and have adequate space to store them at home. Many people use these vehicles for recreation, travel, work-related purposes, or personal projects throughout the year. Requiring owners to move them to off-site storage for most of the year could create a financial burden, even when the vehicle is properly maintained and does not create any neighbourhood issues.
The prohibition on sleeping in RVs or trailers also appears overly broad because it does not distinguish between permanent living arrangements and reasonable temporary uses. Examples could include visiting family members from out of town, temporary accommodation while building or renovating a home, or other short-term situations.
The City should also provide clear definitions of what qualifies as an RV. There are many multi-purpose vehicles and converted vans that may have recreational features but are also used as everyday transportation. Regulations should focus on actual impacts, such as safety, parking, and neighbourhood concerns, rather than simply whether a vehicle could potentially be used for camping.
The by-law should recognize the differences between urban and rural properties. Large rural lots generally do not have the same concerns related to sightlines, neighbour proximity, or limited parking as smaller urban properties. A single set of rules may not be appropriate for all residential areas. Rural residents should have greater flexibility to store RVs on their own property as long as vehicles are maintained and do not create safety issues.
Clearer and more balanced regulations would be reasonable, but the focus should be on addressing actual problems rather than unnecessarily restricting responsible RV owners.
Has anyone else reviewed the proposed changes? I would be interested in hearing from RV owners, rural property owners, and others who may be affected.

Visiting First Week of August
Hi, all,
My family of 4 is planning to drive out from the Chicago area for the week of August 2. We would be crossing at Windsor and coming out on the 401.
Senior parents, yet with young teen-adult children. We still haven't rrally put together an itinerary. What we're looking for:
Not a lot of touristing at the Falls. Some of us do NOT want to go on the water.
Some of the other tourist traps can't be avoided. Skylon Tower looks good, and one child demands the Believe it or Not Museum.
So outside of that, I'd want to just be out and about in town. I'm a beer blogger,so any suggestions for brewpubs will be entertained. That and local festivals, outdoor shows and the like. Plus, of course, neighborhood eats.
We still do not have a hotel booked, which will come back to bite us, I know. But again, we wouldn't need to be in earshot of the Falls, and we're pretty good with public transportation.
And we might spend one day visiting a nephew in Buffalo.
Any suggestions, tips, and greeting will be accepted.
Thanks

⚠️ PSA: Don't Fall for Fake Microsoft Tech Support Scams
⚠️ PSA: Don't Fall for Fake Microsoft Tech Support Scams
Every day, scammers trick people into believing their computer is infected. They use fake pop-ups, phone calls, or emails claiming to be from Microsoft or Windows Support.
Remember:
❌ Microsoft will never call you unexpectedly about your computer.
❌ Never give remote access to anyone unless you contacted them first.
❌ Never share passwords, banking information, or payment details with unsolicited callers.
❌ Pop-ups telling you to call a phone number are almost always scams.
If you think you've been targeted:
Disconnect your computer from the internet.
Close the browser or restart your computer.
Contact a trusted local computer professional before taking any action.
These scams target everyone, but seniors are especially affected. Please share this information with friends and family—it could save someone from losing thousands of dollars.

Spots to drink for a group
A group of 16 lads (ages 40-50) is coming to Niagara Falls for a golf trip. Wed to Sun.
Looking for any info on decent bars to visit.
We heard of a country bar and a Latin bar. But I don’t have solid info. We likely prefer the country as we are older.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations. Thx

Niagara Falls dasher/uber driver referral
Hey neighbors. My cousin just moved in NF area and he wants to sign up for Uber Eats driver or Dasher. Any of you have referral sign up offers that you would like to share? I thought this would be the best place to ask because these referrals are area specific. I think some times referrer and referee both can avail good bonus amount. TY
