Discussion Parçalı comparison
This year vs last
r/galatasaray • u/eanwen0 • 13h ago
Tier 2 [Sami Yen] Following the today's transfer meeting, Dursun Özbek and Abdullah Kavukcu stepped up their efforts. As of now, the club has shelved its loan-transfer policy. Galatasaray has decided to spend on permanent transfers, with the attacking midfielder (No. 10) position being the top priority.

Tier 2 Buchi PAŞA: Osimhen has no plans regarding a transfer. He doesn't even want to talk about transfers. He's completely focused. All his concentration is on Galatasaray achieving great successes this season.

Quotes Okan Buruk: We're saddened by Icardi's departure it hurts. But one day, all of us will leave. What truly matters is Galatasaray. If Icardi agrees, we'd like to give him a farewell worthy of everything he's done for the club.
x.comOkan Buruk: Our club had made an offer to Icardi, but by now the situation needed to be decided definitively, and it was finalized yesterday. Icardi will always remain a part of us. We would have loved to continue together for one more year, but unfortunately, it didn't happen.
Okan Buruk: Ugochukwu has settled into the team and bonded with his teammates very quickly.
Okan Buruk: We're trying to bring elite players into our squad. These deals don't happen overnight—they take time. Some players don't want to come here because they see it as a step down in their careers. Turkey usually isn't their first choice. Financially, we also have to offer very high salaries. To sign players at this level, you have to pay well above the norm.
Okan Buruk: We want to give Victor Osimhen more responsibility. It will be important for him to be among the new captains we appoint.
Okan Buruk: With Icardi's departure, a foreign-player slot has opened up. Led by our president, we're continuing our transfer work. I also spend three days a week scouting players. We have a list of targets we've identified and are in talks with. We'll complete our signings according to the priority order we've established on that list.

Quotes Okan Buruk: If I had to name a team I wouldn’t want to face in the Champions League, I’d say PSG. But now that I’ve said it, it's certain we'll draw them. (laughs)
x.comNew quotes coming up:
Okan Buruk: Victor Osimhen will be one of the team captains.
Okan Buruk: It will be the 10th day since training began. A decision on Icardi had to be made by now.
Okan Buruk: I haven’t spoken with Mauro Icardi yet. We expressed our feelings on social media. We conveyed our wish to say goodbye to his agent. If they agree, we’ll have a farewell like that.
There are goodbyes in football. Even if he’s upset with us or has other thoughts, our love for him remains the same.
We made a one-year offer and didn’t discuss anything else. There were baseless rumors about playing time and such but none of that happened.
Perhaps the offer didn’t satisfy them. It was a one-year offer that’s all. We have to respect that.
Okan Buruk: We need to build a roster that will allow us to continue without any problems in Europe and the league. This is the biggest lesson I have learned from last year.
Okan Buruk: We were incredibly happy with both Noa Lang's performance and his personality. He is the kind of player we'd all been missing... But the 10+4 rule prevented us from moving forward.
Okan Buruk: We're considering reinforcing the wings. Two of our players have left those positions. We'll be adding reinforcements there. We want to bring in a player who can play in different roles.
We want Günay Güvenç and Kaan Ayhan to stay. We want to see Jankat Yılmaz on the team.
Okan Buruk: We don't guarantee a spot in the starting lineup to any player... We've proven that time and again over the past four years. Whoever played well got the chance.
Okan Buruk: It's not easy to find players under 23. When you're looking for young players, you want to find the best ones, but then the prices go up to 60-70 million euros.
Okan Buruk: Our biggest lesson from last year is squad depth. I think our roster needs to be more complete by the end of January, with two players available to play at every position. Because that’s how our European rivals operate.
Okan Buruk: Right now, our priorities are the number 10 and the center forward. We have four players on our shortlist for the number 10 position. Enciso is also on our extended list of 10 players.
Okan Buruk: Transfers aren’t my job I’m more focused on the field. Of course, our executive in charge of transfers, Abdullah Kavukcu, is handling that. To be honest, I don’t want him to tell me everything. To be honest, I don’t want him to tell anyone… The less news you share about transfers, the better you’re doing your job, in my opinion. The more discreet a transfer is, the better I think the job is being done.
Okan Buruk: The reports about Federico Valverde didn't seem plausible to me. Anyone who follows football knows that Valverde isn't going to leave Real Madrid.
Okan Buruk: I haven't had a conversation with Jhon Durán, nor have I had any interest in him.
Okan Buruk: We haven't had any talks with Brahim Diaz. Julio Enciso is on our extended transfer list.
Is Ponomarenko on your list
Okan Buruk: Yes.
Okan Buruk: We did not have any offers for Sara
Okan Buruk: Our rivals are far behind us. That's why they're making more and faster transfers.
Will the transfer be finalized in time for the training camp on the 23rd? Nothing is certain right now. It could happen tomorrow you never know with transfers...
Okan Buruk: I don't know what Mohamed Salah will do. He has some very serious suitors, but his name hasn't come up in connection with us. I don't think he'll choose Turkey.

Question Question
I'm a fan from Mexico, I have a weird question. Does Galatasaray have any sort of "brother club" or "friend club?
Like Genoa and Barcelona or Liverpool and Borussia Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Tier 2 [Di Marzio] Galatasaray interested in Gleison Bremer. Initial discussions with the Brazilian defender's entourage were used to present an outline of a highly lucrative financial proposal. According to the report, Galatasaray have put forward the prospect of a very high salary.
At this stage, the Istanbul club has not submitted an official offer to Juventus, opting instead to approach the player and his representatives first.
Remains to be seen whether this initial approach will develop into formal negotiations between the two clubs. Juventus view Bremer as a cornerstone of their defense and would demand a significant transfer fee to consider letting him leave.

Tier 2 Buchi responding another report: Exactly. Word for word. Everything changed Yesterday. "His agent said, "We've reached an agreement. They will announce it shortly." Icardi was scheduled to join the team's training camp on July 17. However, due to pressure from the fans, decision changed that evening
-The level of pressure became unbelievable.

Same report also says: Elio Pino: I won't comment on the change in the decision. Icardi will never speak.

Social Media Okan Buruk Via IG:
Farewells are always difficult, but saying goodbye to a football icon who etched his name into Galatasaray's history and with whom we won trophies, dominated the league, and broke remarkable records over the past four years is even harder for me.
You inspired an entire generation to embrace the Yellow and Red with all their hearts, became the beloved hero of our supporters, and left an unforgettable mark on our club. For that, I thank you not only as the head coach of Galatasaray, but also as a lifelong Galatasaray supporter.
Today, the Galatasaray family bids farewell to a truly special footballer. But I know Mauro Icardi will always remain an important part of this club and will continue to represent Galatasaray with pride wherever he goes in the world.
We love you so much, King. 👑

Official [Official] Galatasaray part ways with Mauro Icardi.
x.comDear Mauro,
Today, we are not talking about a farewell—we are talking about a legacy.
The fact that you no longer wear the Galatasaray jersey will never change the place you hold in our hearts. Because you earned a place in the hearts of every Galatasaray supporter, young and old.
Beyond the goals you scored, the Golden Boot titles you won, the records you broke, and the trophies you lifted, you lived the passion of Galatasaray—and inspired millions to live it with you.
You are no longer just a player whose name is etched in gold in the club's history; you are a legend who will live on forever among Galatasaray's greatest icons.
Dear captain, who made an entire generation fall in love with Galatasaray—if children today proudly say, "I'm a Galatasaray supporter," it is in no small part because of you.
Every Galatasaray fan knows...
A love like this is never forgotten.
