Hello future neighbours. I'm moving to Dundee in September and, as the title says, I'm looking for a full service video production studio (multiple camera angles, sets, lighting, all the things).
I need to hire this studio once a month, for two full days, to batch record podcast episodes. I also need them to handle all post-production editing and mastering.
This would be a long-term relationship I'd be looking to build as this podcast is a central part of my work.
Any recommendations? Google isn't turning much up in Dundee proper.
Thank you.
Edit: it doesn't need to be central, I have a car and I can travel, but I am trying to avoid having to travel to Edinburgh or Glasgow for this... I prefer working with locals whenever possible. So, in or around Dundee is my aim.
Looking to get a will written. Anyone got a solicitor they'd recommend?
Looking for cheap as possible but also want to be sure it's not contestable by my brother. Think it's a pretty basic will I'd need (leaving flat and contents to my friend who currently is living with me). The flat itself being the only thing of value really.
Thanks in advance

I’m a photographer from Dundee looking for some models!
I’m looking for people who are specifically in to street fashion or have a unique fashion style.
No previous modelling experience is required. If you’re willing to give it a good go, have some fun and be up for expressing yourself then I’d love to hear from you!
It’s for my own practice and you can do whatever you wish with the photos after!

Hello, am planning to move in Dundee or nearby town in the next several months, and wanted to know how's the corporate job climate in general (non-care, non-hospitality)?
Thanks!

Hi guys, I'm an international student from Singapore moving to Dundee to finish the rest of my undergraduate degree via a joint degree program at the university of dundee . I'll be staying for approx 1.5 years maybe more to travel after grad..
Since I'm starting my budget planning early, I'd love some honest advice on the current cost of living (COL) and rental market from people on the ground.
For housing, looking at studio apartment with all bills included. what would the rent cost be like.
For COL, looking at like how much can be spent on groceries, eating out, entertainment, travelling to neighbouring cities etc. per month.
Any advice/tips/must-know is truly appreciated thank youu!!

In days of yore, we just made friends with whichever children lived in the same street as us. But these days kids don’t go out on their own to play.
Any ideas of places or groups that could help our son make pals outside of school: he’s not good at football (he likes it, but he’s not talented). He likes watching football, football cards, board games, talking about countries, chess, playing with hotwheels)

I’m having quite a bit of trouble looking for a 12 month contract home broadband for my new flat which is like in the middle of the city centre, I’ve tried Three’s 5g for almost a month but it seems to be consistently really slow so I’ve cancelled it. Wondering if anyone has recommendations for decent providers that have 12 month contracts :’)

How is the situation in Dundee for finding a part time job as a university student? I hope to start in September at Abertay and would need some kind of source of income. Looking it up on google gives me a bunch of crap advertisements from companies that seem dodgy as anything offering "£10-300 a week", and other extremely wide pay ranges. I would be able to do tutoring, however I'd probably have to stick to nat 5 level at most as I did IBDP as my secondary education and would not be suited to teaching for highers. I would ideally like to be able to have a social life so finding something that pays more than £10 an hour would be ideal but I'm not the one with the bargaining power so I'd take it if I had to.

Bit niche but does anyone have one of these laying around? Trying to get my toddlers away from iPads and onto old video games and these basically taught me how to read as a kid- I’d be happy to pay cash and collect it this week? :) thank you!

. My wife, our three daughters, and I are considering relocating to the UK through the ancestry visa route. We have heard about the government-supported higher education system and believe it could be an excellent opportunity for us to pursue dual citizenship while completing our family’s upbringing in a new environment.
We would greatly appreciate insights from locals on several aspects:
• Higher Education: How does the university system function in practice? Is the government funding model as accessible and beneficial as it appears for mature students or families? Would it realistically be worth pursuing in our circumstances?
• Daily Life and Community: What is life like in the UK, particularly for families raising children? We value honest perspectives on cost of living, quality of life, healthcare, education for our daughters, and overall integration.
• Employment Opportunities: I have 20 years of experience working in gravel pits and mining operations. My wife has a background in pharmacy. How transferable are these skills, and what are the realistic prospects for employment in related fields? Any information on industry demand, required certifications, or typical career pathways would be extremely helpful.
We are approaching this decision thoughtfully and would value candid, first-hand advice from those familiar with the realities on the ground. Thank you in advance for any guidance you can share.
Best regards,

Hii guys, i recently converted my UAE license to UK license and wanted to get some refresher lessons, mainly focused on learning the road rules here and getting my confidence back up driving.
Have heard horror stories from people on how some instructors could be, so just wanted to ask out here for recs.
Transmission - Automatic

Hi all,
Im looking to move to Strathmartine Road soon, near the tesco express. I just wanted to enquire before I move what the area is like?
Im used to living in cities & the characters that come with it, however I will be living by myself, so just considering safety & trying to work out costs ahead of time for my security & protection.
i.e. are there often break-ins, theft, etc etc.
Thanks! 💕

Hi everyone, I’m looking to launch a new, focused takeaway venture in the city. Unlike the 'generalist' model where places try to do everything, I plan to do the opposite: a very small, high-quality menu centered around just one of these three:
a) Gourmet Burgers (like the one attached)
b) Artisan Pizza (like the one attached)
c) Fresh Pasta
My goal is to use streamlined, high-efficiency processes to keep these at a competitive price point without sacrificing the quality.
I’d love your honest feedback to help me decide which direction to take:
1) Which of these three would you be most excited to see a 'gourmet-at-home' version of in Dundee?
2) Looking at these photos, what is one thing (if any) that would make you choose this over your current 'go-to' takeaway?
3) What is the biggest frustration you currently have with delivery food in Dundee (quality, consistency, delivery times, etc.)?
I’m currently in the planning phase and really want to build something that solves the gaps in what is currently available. I appreciate any thoughts or 'brutal' feedback you’re willing to share!

So was supposed to go to the Discovery festival on the 24th at Slessor gardens and had tickets for an after party.
Both now cancelled but I’ve got a non refundable hotel so having a day/night out in Dundee.
Dont know the city well and looking for some indie style music venues or anything music related happening on the 24th. Searches online just return lots of Discovery festival results to rub salt in the wounds.

Had a newsletter at work today (healthcare) talking about various statistical things, one of them being that Dundee remains the city with the highest rate of teenage pregnancies in Scotland. I have always been vaguely aware of this since even I was a teen, but it got me wondering why? There are larger, more populated cities in the country yet we are at the top for this statistic. Are our areas of deprivation just somehow worse than in other cities, is it lack of opportunities in Dundee, is our education system worse? Is it the culture? Why has it not gotten better? Genuinely interested to hear people's opinions. It's an interesting topic.

Can anyone recommend a coffee shop that does really good homemade fresh cakes? Most places are either bought-in frozen or heavily rely on traybakes as their offering.
